McNabb’s Name Equals Money 6/20/07

Rightfully so, my man Micah called the local sports media out.  Can everybody be honest in the media around here?  McNabb's name means newspaper sales, ratings and money.  The stories about him don't have to be legitimate, everybody tries to get his name out there.  The rule is whenever you can get McNabb's name in something, do it.  It's not journalism and it doesn't display talent.  Peter King knew what he was doing and so did the Inquirer with that story yesterday.  It's a slow time now and he's got people talking about him.

There's also another rule in covering sports now.  If you praise a superstar, they talk about the superstar.  If you rip him or her to shreds, then they talk about you. This is part of the game, which is fine but how can the same sports media people, then get on a moral high horse and say everybody else is in it for the money. Everybody is in it for the money.  The players are in it for the money and so are the people in the media. In order to compete, all the television, radio, newspaper and internet news outlets will go as low as the National Enquirer if it means more money.

I have to laugh sometimes because this stuff really isn't that serious.  I think we need to laugh more here in Philly.

All you Philly fans who were tired of seeing Dhani Jones, you may have to put up with him in another capacity.

NFL Program Gives New Meaning To A Set Formation

Is that amazing what's going down with Kobe Bryant?  Somebody got a cellphone video of him verbally dogging the Lakers.  It's official now, you're never off camera.  They're putting cameras at stop lights and everywhere you can think.  Plus everybody has a camera phone.  It's going to play a part in some big trials in the future.

Good win for the Phils.  Ryan Howard had a good night.
