Coaches, McNabb And Receivers Awful

The pass offense was awful and there's no other way to say it.  O appreciate the fact Donovan wants to stay away from interceptions but McNabb has got to throw the football downfield more often even if it means taking a chance.  The 3rd down situations were awful.

He threw checkdown after checkdown to the running backs and short receivers. It's got to be more 1, 2, 3, and out to the wide receivers on slants, curls inside and intermediate routes over the middle.  I know L.J. Smith got hurt and he was supposed to be used a great deal down the middle but they've got be able to make adjustments during a game.  You've got to do something more than just continue to go 3 and out.

Even if they don't tell us everything after the game, somebody has to know what in the world is going on with the pass offense with McNabb in the lineup.  I don't think they know what's going wrong and that's very troubling.

I can't say it was all McNabb's fault but he, Andy and Marty had little if any explanation for why the offense was so ineffective.  The Giants were in a two deep coverage all day long The defense played well enough to win.  Brian Westbrook contributed over 150 yards.  The passing game has to do more.

If the Eagles have to go to a no huddle attack as  a change up, then that's what they need to do because more offensive production is required.  I know they were extra concerned about the Giants pass rush but the Eagles have got to do more.  After the first drive which ended with McNabb getting outside of a New York blitz, the Eagles did exactly nothing offensively until the Giants loosened theri defense in the last drive.
