Lawyer Says Hanson 1st Casualty Of Upcoming NFL Labor Battle

Hanson holds up number oneProfootballTalk.com is reporting that Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson is the first casualty of the coming labor battle between the NFL players and owners.

Lawyer David Cornwell says Hanson is being suspended for four games because he took a diuretic after eating a Chinese meal before the NFC title game.

“The urine specimen that Joselio provided after the game tested positive for a diuretic,” Cornwell said.  “Joselio did not use steroids or any other substance that would enhance his performance.”

Diuretic aren’t used to mask steroid use so according to Cornwell it makes no sense to suspend Hanson for this incident.

The NFL made a decision to suspend Hanson any way and that’s why he made the statement that players aren’t treated the same in the NFL because a couple of Minnesota Viiking defensive linemen have played while appealling their suspension.
