Rollins And Victorino Named Gold Glove Winners Again

Rollins turning two They say a great defensive baseball team has to be stong up the middle.

Well the Phillies could surely make that claim after shortstop Jimmy Rollins and centerfielder Shane Victorino were awarded Gold Gloves for their fielding their positions better than anyone else in the National League for the second year in a row.

Rollins has captured the award for the third year in a row.

He makes outstanding plays look routine and swallows up everything hit to his side of second base.  Rollins has tremendous quickness, great athletic ability and a rifle and accurate arm.

Victorino is a speedy and instinctive centerfielder who has a gun for an arm.  He routinely cuts off shots headed to the alleys and guns down runners trying to take extra bases.

I know the Phillies pitching staff loves to look behind them and see Rollins at short and Victorino in center.

There’s no telling how many runs these two have saved over a season.
