The rumor that’s been circulated by ESPN’s Adam Schefter about the Eagles trading Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins in order to stop the Skins from acquiring Sam Bradford makes absolutely no sense at all.
They say that getting the Skins to give up their second round draft pick will stop them from trading up and taking Bradford.  Excuse me.
The Rams have the first pick in the draft and they’re going to pick him if they think he’s going to be a great quarterback.¬†¬† It’s not like the Redskins could trade up and move ahead of them.
If St. Louis wants Bradford which it seems like they do, then how could the Redskins trade up to get him.
Also why would a team be worried about a rookie who hasn’t even proved that he can play in the league yet.¬† Think about how many first round quarterbacks wind up being busts.
Think about all those guys that were drafted with McNabb.  Think about number one picks in the draft like Alex Smith and David Carr.
Nobody would take either one of them right now for a seventh round draft pick.
What about busts like Brady Quinn, Ryan Leaf and Andre Ware?  Matt Leinart is still a question mark in Arizona.
The Eagles have so much more to worry about than whether the Redskins are able to draft Sam Bradford.  Please.
The coach who Philly.com’s Jeff McLane says is worried about Bradford going to the Skins needs to study the recent history of the draft.
Both the rumor and this article are a waste of time.
Still, I’d love to know how you deem Brady Quinn a bust on the same level as Ryan Leaf, yet think the jury is still out on Leinart.
Brady Quinn has started a grand total of 12 games in 3 years and has a rating of 66.8.
Matt Leinart has started in 17 games in 4 years and has a rating of 70.8.
I’m pretty sure I could obtain a higher QB rating throwing to Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.
But I guess you’re right G, those 4 points separating the two really distinguish Leinart and Quinn.
Brady Quinn has already been traded from the team that drafted him. Obviously Holmgren doesn’t think much of him. He still has the chance to redeem himself but he’s considered a bust right now because he was traded by the team that drafted him in the first round.
If the Cardinals trade Leinart he will be considered a bust.

It’s just as true as Indy throwing away a perfect season to keep a certain team out of the playoffs. G has a point, if the Rams have a shot at Bradford, or even Suh for that matter, why would they trade out of the 1 spot? The Skins are going to get a top talent OLineman at 4 to help keep 5 off his back. I’d rather wait until Mel Kiper and Jason La Canfora weigh in on this rumor, then we’ll know it’s true.
All i gotta say is we are now the doormat of the nfc east. we are going to be torn apart by everyone. were lucky if we win 6 games next year
The Rams should look at the last 2 drafts and the #1 picks. They practically had the contracts set before draft day to avoid long holdouts. I believe by Monday we’ll start to hear rumors about the Rams and Bradfor in contract talks and then the Lions will be the hot topic trading out of the #2 spot.
Honestly if I were the Rams I would be pretty pissed about Jake Locker not coming out this years draft. Sam Bradford looks great in his workouts but look where he’s going.. The Rams. Besides their QB situation they still have a lot of work to go. Jimmy Clausen will be a better QB but right now it remains an opinion. Im excited about this years NFL season. I cant wait to pick up Madden 2011 to see hoe Mcnabb does with the Skins.
