Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall: We’ll Dominate Our Division”

Did you checkout what Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said the other day?¬† He’s predicting that the Skins will win 11 or 12 games with the addition of Donovan McNabb.

“It’s based on the talent we feel like we’ve got,” he said. “It’s based on the improvements I feel like we’ve made. It’s based on the scheme. The scheme alone is gonna give us four or five more wins. The games we lost by two, three points, we’ll win those games, easy.

“We’ll dominate our division, off of bringing Donovan McNabb in here, a guy who’s dominated the division in the past. So that’s just an educated guess. That’s an educated guess, and I stand behind. I’ll stand behind that. I’ll fight and claw to try to make that happen.”

I think McNabb will make the Skins a better football team but 11 or 12 wins is a bit much.  I do think they could win 9 games if everything goes well for them.

For them to win 10 games, they’re going to have to win every close game they play.¬† I believe McNabb’s ability to not turn the ball over and their outstanding defense will have them playing in a lot of close games, but I don’t think they’re going to win all of them.

Hall should try to talk big defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth into showing up in shape and contributing to their defense.

We’ll have to wait until the end of the year to see whether Hall is right or wrong, but we do know he’s very positive.

How many games do you think they will win?

I think they’ll win more games than last year but “dominate the division”? Seriously? If by dominate he means split with everyone, I’d give them that at the most but he’s a little over board.

I think he has a valid point but I do not see them winning 11 games because like us they have a really tough schedule and relying on mcnabb saying he will add more wins is a no no. At some point in the season he will be injuryed cause thats what Mcnabb does every year and getting rid of Campbell I thought was a mistake cause in my opinion he would have been the BEST back up QB on any NFL roster. Here goes their season schedule…

Bills (win)
Ravens (loss)
Jets (loss)
Cardinals (win)
Cowboys (loss)
Texans (loss)
Rams (win)
Eagles (loss)
Packers (loss)
Colts (loss)
Bears (win)
Lions (win)
Eagles (win)
Titans (loss)
Vikings (loss)
Giants (loss)
Bucs (win)
Cowboys (loss)
Jaguars (win)
Giants (win)

I have them at 9-7.

Remember they aded DE Adam Carriker to their already pretty good D/Line
If they Add A Faneca to their O/Line (which I think is a strong possibility) then their
O/Line looks like from left to right LT- T Williams, LG- D Dockery C – Rabach, RG – A Faneca
and RT – A Hicks which is not that bad and a huge improvment from what they have had the last
2 years.. thro in D McNabb, TE Cooley and and emerging TE F Davis with up and coming WR’s in
Moss,Thomas,& Kelley (and maybe a TO down the road) and 3 RB’s like Portis,PArker & LJ
this offense may be able to score 20-23 pts a game which puts them in almost every game they will play… Their Defense is good and switching to a 3-4 with the aggressive new D/c J Haslett running the show, they will create more turnovers and get more after the QB’s than before…
I expect them to be right in there with the Gaints/Eagles fightiing for 2nd place in the NFC East
right behind the Cowboys . I bet that only 2 maybe 3 games seperate the 1st place to the 4th place team in the NFC this year… 11-5/10-6/9-7/8-8 are very probable records this year for the NFC East

I agree Paulman. Particularly with the Eagles and Redskins I wouldn’t be surprised to see 8-8 or 10-6. I imagine that there will be several close game that could go either way. This where we need our defense. I will admit, I will be a little upset if we finish 4th in the division. Not for long, but nevertheless.

The NFC Divisional Games will really be critical this season when it comes down to who finishes where. Whoever can go 4-2 within the division will win 10 Games + and make the playoffs.
Go 3-3 and maybe you can squeeze 9 wins and have a shot at a Wild Card spot
Go 2-4 or worse within the dvision, will guarantee a losing overall record …(below .500)
I bet the 6 games the Eagles play (especially the 4 games between the Giants & Redksins) will all be very tight games that are winneable based on who protects the ball (turnovers) and who can make big plays at the end of the games, I bet there isn’t many points difference that separate the winners and losers in these 4 games which will probably determine a succesful season versus a disappointing one…

Who cares about DeAngela Hall. He is a super douche. The Deadskins have to learn a new offensive and defensive scheme, plus transition to the 3-4. Factor in a raw rookie LT and Artis Hicks at RT, combined with three old running backs, and you’re looking at them going 5-11.

The redskins will win more games than the eagles. I think the eagles will regress wit kolb based off of his turnover history. The eagles will have the worst running game, worst qb, and possibly worst defense in the NFC east. Not to mention mcnabb knows the eagles offense and defense inside out. That could do nothing but help the redskins. The redskins lost alot of close games with a bad coach last year. You add a proven coach and a proven qb in mcnabb, the NFC east can no longer pencil in wins against redskins. Week 2 will be reality check for eagles if/when they lose to an improved lions team.

The fact “they believe’ lies squarely on the eagles arrogance to trade their franchise quarterback within the division. This season will be exactly what eagle fans are expecting but dare say. The organization get exposed leading to a total shake up after this season. Kolb will be a below average quarterback, and we al know without a quaterback the chances to win are slim to none. This division belongs to The Redskins and Big D..the Giants will be in the mix too. This franchise is toast.

Skins are no threat but I hope they win 9 so we get that 3rd instead of the 4th. Thats all that really matters as an Eagles fan

Paulman, I agree. Our division is up for grabs. Obviously, Dallas is the favorite. After that, it’s anybody’s guess. As usual, injuries could go a long way in determining the champion. I remain confused as to how anyone could predict the level of Kevin Kolb’s success; he hasn’t played enough for anyone to know, not even Andy Reid.

@Drummer–agreed, no one is gonna give 4 a chance in this city. I mean, why even play the season now that Truth2power and songsrmetarded told us how it will turn out. I bet they knew Bruce Willis was dead at the end of 6th sense before the movie started too.

Spot on Drummerwinslow,
He has the potential to be very good (especially in AR’s system that he’s been groomed for over the last
3 years) with the weapons around him, I think it’s a matter of getting the reps, being the guy and working on his timing, mobility, reads, etc, etc, just like every other young QB needs to work on and improve.. At least for us Eagle fans, it should make for more interesting Pre-Season games to watch when he plays 1-2 quarter with the starters to start getting that timing down… He has the tools, the understanding and the leadership I thnk to make it happen..what he needs is “live” game situations at game speed and reps, reps, reps… I think he will be fine and just get to ball out to his playmakers to make plays, he doesn’t have to do anything special but to protect the ball and stay away from negative plays… (needless sacks, etc, etc)

Just like some people think kolb can be good the numbers say he is more likely to be a bust. that without playing a game. when u add the stats from his playing time it doesn’t get better (4 td 7 int). If u belive the eagles we should not miss a beat and the eagles should contend like every other year. If kolb does suck how long or what would be the criteria for him to get pulled. Does kolb get benched if we go 0-4. One thing is probably certain if kolb is not at least average Andy time in Philly will be very short.

Wow, some of you guys already know what’s going to happen. Amazing. Paulman even made the bold prediction that regular season division games will determine who wins the division!? Shit, I can play this game too! i predict that the team with the most points at the end of the superbowl will… eh you get the idea. HEY SCHMUCKS – nobody knows anything about what will happen – the future is kinda like that. Let’s wait and see eh?

schiller how about you take your condescending ass somewhere else? Fans can talk about whatever they like. And you’re right no one knows what’s going to happen which is why this is an opinion-based site where people express what they THINK is going to happen. Don’t like it, piss off and move to something else.

A Faneca signed 1 year deal with Arizona Cadinals if anyone is interested,
He will be re-united with Coaches K Wisenhut and R Grimm who he played for when they were on the Steelers a couple years back…

More random thoughts..
A Team to check on the 1st month of the Season will be the NY Giants..
They really struggled the last 8-10 weeks of the season and from a lot of reports, many in the locker room appears to quit on Coach Coughlin and their teammates..They have the Talent to be playoff compeitive again but watch for a coupld of surprising moves to shake this team up…
Brandon Jacobs and Osi Umenyiora to be traded by summer camp… Coughlin is not going to allow
his locker room to get splintered again, if they struggle this season, his job will be on the line….
A fast start will do wonders for them, but if they get out of the gate slow (1st 5 games are vs Panthers,Colts,Titans,Bears and Texans) it will be a long season for them and the Hanging Judges will be calling for his neck ..

I hope the skins are 4-2 in the Division beating the Cowboys and the Giants twice while losing to us twice. I hope the cowboys never win another game. I would love to see the G men fall apart and the Jets win the love of NY for a season or 2.

It’s very possible this could happen. Dallas having no major injuries again this year is highly unlikely. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Redskins have not been a horrible team they’ve just had questionable coaching and questionable leadership which could be a resolved problem as of this year. If defensive players are already liking the 3-4 that says a lot about where they are in their transition. The big O-Tackle they got in the draft will probably help that line and McNabb early and often it’s just a matter of whether the rest of the O-Line really as bad as a lot people think they are. It’ll definitely be interesting.

Paul, before you start giving your opinion on the Giants (Another team that rebuilt while the Eagles were in contention and won A Super Bowl) and their Super Bowl winning Coach, I think this team here in philly should be your focus. The reigns were given to an unproven nobody who when given the chance to play was murdered by the Ravens in 1/2 Game and threw 7 picks to 4TD’s in 2 full games, with one of the games being played against the stinking Chiefs. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOUR COMMENTS MID SEASON. You’ll probably be hid in the same bunker Lurie have been stashed in this offseason.
