Philadelphia Eagles DT Antonio Dixon, who emerged as the number three guy in the defensive tackle rotation last year, suffered a head injury on Monday at Lehigh. Right now, the extent of the injury is unknown.
Dixon came off the field and told one of his coaches, “I feel dizzy.” He then collapsed to the ground and lay motionless.
‚ÄúHe got hit in the head,‚Äù head coach Andy Reid said, per Rueben Frank of Phillyburbs.com. ‚ÄúHe got dinged. I don’t know more than that right now.‚Äù
The 25-year old was impressive last year after the Birds picked him up off the Redskins waiver wire.
Let’s hope he’s ok, head injuries aren’t something to mess with.
I hope Dixon is ok, who has been having a real solid camp so far..
He is the Eagles biggest DT who moves the pile and has a pretty quick burst for a big guy..
Hopefully a couple of days rest and he’ll be back out… Eagles and him have to be very careful with any type of head injuries which can lead to reccurring concussions,etc,etc.
T Laws who by most reports is also having a good camp and new guys J Owens and B WIlliams now have a great opportunity to show the Coaches what they have and should get more reps
Dixon had a concussion, but it’s not severe. They’ll monitor him for several days until he’s ready to come back. Very good player here. You should see the Vikes’ injury list, and then the talk about Favre retiring. Brad’s got to dump that guy and plan immediately for different guy back there. Even if Favre is only considering retirement, how much is he really dedicated during the season? His body is shot! Go spend time with your family, man.
