Deion Sanders Says Kevin Kolb Has The NFL’s Toughest Job In 2010.

Last night former Pro Bowl cornerback, Deion Sanders was on ESPN 97.5 with Tony Bruno and he said that Kevin Kolb is going to have a tough time this year replacing Donovan McNabb.  He also said Eagles fans are going to be chanting Michael Vick’s name when he throws a bad pass.

The former Dallas Cowboys corner believes playing in front of Vick will be Kolb’s biggest problem.

This was Sanders’ way of taking some shots at Eagles’ fans whom he never was fond of.  Sanders tried to paint Eagles fans as savage, out of control and impatient.

The future Hall of Famer said he believes Kolb is in the toughest situation of any player in the NFL this year.  Replacing McNabb and starting ahead of Vick will be put Kolb in an intenable situation which will cause problems for him according to Sanders.

Eagle fans are not going to be calling out for Vick. Deion is just flapping his gums over nothing.

Deion who…
Oooh, you mean the most Over-hyped, Over-rated Athlete of his generation….please…
I don’t believe that many fans will be screaming for M Vick to replace Kolb for every errant plass he throws… I also believe that many fans are glad that McNabb has moved on regardless of who was taking the # 1 QB position
Sanders has always been in Vick’s corner and has overvalued his talent and ability as a QB
(which is fine) but I don’t think Sanders knows what he’s talking about when it comes to what the Phialdelphia Fans are thinking and feeling..
Sanders should wrap himself up in one of his mink coats and get locked in at one of Michael Irvings tanning beds… Good grief…

I’ll never forget Sander response on the field when Irvin got hurt in Vet Stadium and I say, who cares what the dancing bear thinks?

I can’t speak for any other fan but I expect Kolb to struggle and maybe even stink at times. Even McNabb did that just as every QB has to some degree. Nothing replaces experience and experience requires patience and trust from the coaches. Hopefully, the fans will be patient and trust as well. I was patient and trusting with McNabb for more than 5 seasons. In my mind, this season is a mulligan for Kolb and while I won’t always be thrilled, I will not boo him this season and by the way, I don’t think Vick would ever be an answer to a Reid offense. I’m just hoping the O Line and Reid’s pass, pass and pass more doesn’t get Kolb killed this season. I know it’ll cause Interceptions but that’s the price that gets paid for experience.

Give the guy a season…

Neon-Deion is one of the sorriest losers & a major public hypocrite. He’s still a self-centered joke, a poor sports analyst/commentator because he has no objectivity or fair point of view like Troy Aikman who is miles ahead of Sanders in character & credibility. Sanders has never matured as a real man and both he and Irvin are perfect examples of why Philly fans can’t stand the Cowboys, as the both of them are poor representatives of that NFL organization. Landry would have disciplined that weasel Sanders and his mouth long ago.

Hell he’s exactly right! If kolb screws up out the gates, sit his a– on the bench and put Vick in. Knowing a player like # 7 is licking his chops to get in is enough to give Kobb the sh-ts. He knows it too. Look Deion is Deion, you just have to admit the truth when it becomes evident. I personally believe that Lurie would snatch Kolb out in a heartbeat if he’s screwing up and put Vick in.

Savage? Isn’t this from the same ignorant jerk who poured water over an announcers head because he offended Deion using G-rated language? This guy is a complete moron and everytime he opens his mouth I shiver at the pompous garbage that’s about to come out of it. Can someone finally give this horrible example of a human being a slice of humble pie and tell him to go home?

Deion is telling the truth..olb is in a situation in which he must perform on a high level immediately. He’s not a rookie and have been in this league over 4 years so we are looking for seasoned results. He was on the sideline going over things with the receivers during Mcnabb games as if he had input but was really pandering for the front office in an attempt for this opportunity he have now, and he better seize it. If not ……put Vick in Period…Don’t want to hear..He’s young” , “Give him time”….TIME IS NOW.

If he gives us a poor preseason we may have to consider passing Kolb the clipboard to help coach from the sidelines.

A Howard is a undrafted free-agent from Northern Iowa who will be starting at RT in 2011 and then W Justice will moved to RG replacing Stacey Andrews.. remember that you heard it here first….
To Songs, nice Pass by Vick right to Jags defender right before the half for the Int and the lost of the lead in a half they dominated…

To Songs
Anyone expecting seasoned results from a QB with two complete NFL games and a career total of 130 NFL passing attempts in three seasons is an idiot. 130 passes is close to two normal Reid games. Want to talk about expecting seasoned results? Vick is the seasoned QB here but he’s a turnover machine tonight! He’s the one with all the expereince and looks like a guy that has about as much NFL experience as Kolb. As usual, if it weren’t for Vick’s legs, he would absolutely suck as a QB. Oh wait, that’s right, every team playing against Vick that shut down his running lanes beat him.

Deion Sanders has about as much creditability as Howard Eskin when it comes to football.

I was impressed with the O/Line for Kolb had lots of time to survey the field and step up to throw the ball, The WR’s looked fast and ran good routes, take the Celek drop in the End Zone and the 2 turnovers by Vick in the 2 nd quarter, and the game is a probably a blow-out by half-time..

Last night, fans started booing already. It was in the first QB after a couple incompletions and 1 near INT that the boos got a little loud. That was only the 1st preseason game. If Kolb struggles for just a little fans are going to be quick to boo. This is Philly and we have no mercy or anyone. I don’t boo players. I boo refs and other players but the fans are ridiculous. If we come out against Green Bay flat or Kolb throws and pick, they will be all over his back. It’s not fair but it will happen when he does struggle a little. A lot of people expect him to hit the ground running. Is it right? In some people’s mind, yes.

But on another note, the Vick INT wasn’t his fault. The receiver started running towards where Vick threw the ball and then jogged the rest of the way instead of running full speed. That’s the stuff that will get you cut.

Hey, Deion is a joke and we know how he feels about Philly fans, be he’s telling the truth. We are not sympathetic and we hold nothing back. The booed last night in the first quarter and they will boo again and again if things don’t go right. And let’s be honest, there’s no way that if Kolb is struggling and you have Vick on the bench that many fans will not call for Vick. Does it mean the Eagles should go Vick? No. But some people will call. I’m not talking about a couple incompletes in a row. I’m taking about a 3 and out, then an INT and the other teams offense is rolling and then we punt again. These fans will call for a backup. Hell, they booed Jeff Garcia in the Carolina game and then 6 games later you’d think he was the greatest QB in franchise history.

4 rows behind me there were a group of about 5 guys chanting “We want Vick” during the first qtr. If the team struggles people will call for him, that’s how it is in Philly and being the backup QB is the most popular position. Now debating whether it happens is different than debating whether the people are right if they do it.

This is a overly sensitive and dramatic sports town. People are too overly positive when things are going well and too negative when they are going bad. It’s too far one way or another.

Eagle fans are some of the most passionate in the entire Sports world, they have always gotten a little too attached to their players, (which is their right to do as fans) but in todays sports world,
which mirrors today’s society in general, it’s all about winning, and the here and the now and what have you done for me lately.. I do believe with a little patience and time under Kolb, this Eagle Offense will be very exciting to watch and will put up some points. Hopefully he will get off to a quick start this season so the fans can rally around him and this young team for he is the leader/face of franchise moving forward and the Eagles will only go as far as well as he plays…

Scorp – Not surprised but sorry to hear that many people at the stadium were booing Kolb in the 1st Qtr. last night. It’s humored me for years that so many say that Philly fans are very knowledgeable. I think that’s a bunch of crap. They’re simply not. They make snap judgments and will boo anyone at any time for any reason . That’s not the behavior of someone knowledgeable in a sport. I reiterate “Anyone expecting seasoned results from a QB with two complete NFL games and a career total of 130 NFL passing attempts in three seasons is an idiot.”

maybetheycan, I’m with you. I think the fans here are always too harsh to good players and we fall in love with other players because of their personality and ignore their shortcomings because they relate to the city better. I do think the Eagles and local media have hyped Kolb up so much that people are expecting him to hit the ground running. Don’t tell us we aren’t rebuilding but then want people to give the QB a pass. I don’t think it’s fair for Kolb to be on such a short leash with the fans, but I do think it’s fair that he’s treated just like anyone else.

Deion is a jerk and we know that but that doesn’t mean everything is says isn’t true.

Deion is a jerk and a lot of fans are too.

Sanders is a jerk and I don’t believe EVERYTHING Sanders says is true, but somethings bare out to be the truth and are just his experience talking which can’t be denied. I mean he did report that he overheard “a friend of friend of McNabb” said last year that McNabb said that he wanted to get traded and for all intents and purposes that was totally made up.

The day when I see the whole stadium call for Vick while Kolb is on the field will be the day when I’ll say I’ve seen it all. Vick’s past, in my estimation, will always put him in the position of never being considered a “Hero” and for that reason even if people want him in for a lot of people it will only ever be a reserved desire that won’t make it out into a raucous cheer.

I wouldn’t have D Sanders on any of my lists as a top CB in the NFL..
A great returner for sure, phenomenal speed and quickness and good hands to make INT’s ..
Couldn’t tackle worth a lick, ran away from contact on running plays and not a team player in my book, and probably one of the best self-promoters in all of sport which I tip my hat to him for achieving..but he wouldn’t be on my team…
I would take an Eric Allen, Darrell Green, Champ Bailey any day over Deon Sanders

I can see what Deon is saying and I must say that I agree with him. If Kolb fails, they will put in Vick, at the same time Kolb does have a big job with a lot of pressure. I really don’t believe the Eagles would have traded McNabb if they didn’t have Vick or a player like him to be there when and if Kolb fails. I do hope that Kolb doesn’t fail and has a good season, however it is what it is.
