Everybody else is talking about the Eagles signing Michael Vick to a long term contract but both the Eagles and Vick don’t seem to be interested in that right now.
“I’m not really worried about that right now”, Vick responded when asked today. “I think it’s all going to take care of itself at the appropriate time. I totally understand, but I’m going to keep playing and try to put myself in the best position that I can possibly be in and let it take care of itself.”
When Andy Reid was asked about whether there had been any talks with Vick’s representatives concerning an extension he said, “There will be a time and place when that needs to be addressed and we’ll address it. It’s a crazy deal with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and so on. We really haven’t done anything with anybody. It’s just a different year.”
I hope Reid and Vick will still be on the same page when the season is over when the millions and millions of dollars are on the table.
I can understand why the Eagles aren’t in any hurry. They can always slap the franchise tag on Vick, if they don’t want him to become a free agent, but that could sour their relationship in the future.
As for Vick, it wouldn’t make any sense for him to start complaining about not getting a new contract. It would sour his relationship with the Eagles and turn the fans against him, as well.
He’s got to continue playing well and leading the Eagles to victories. He’ll be sitting in a very strong position, if things continue to play out the way they have been.

Paul just talked to the rules department and they tell me that you can’t call it first annaul because there will never be any more of those if you continue to make such statements while you are off medication.

It is my believe that the Eagles are going to try to get as many of these young guys locked in as they can afford, while leaving room to stud the o-line with competion. Don’t worry the Eagles are not going to let another team reap the spoils of their training and education of the young bucks.
Paul thats not funny at all but I did laugh, by the way we all know Vince is an immature spoiled brat, but please someone explain to me how Fisher has kept that job for 17 years and only has 6 winning seasons, and why is he talking about coming to him man to man and all he does is kill his QB to the press and oh yea has one of his assistants tell Vince to leave the property I guess thats his version of man to man. Paulman – there is no guarantee Vince Young can master the Eagles offense, and definitely is not a leader.If nothing else BabyArm showed us that not everybody can take a hit. I liked Vince in college but as a pro, he is a “class A” moron, with very serious mental issues.
The Eagle players loved Vick even when he was not the starter. Same with Kolb. Vince is ___hole. Like TO or Moss. Players like that destroy the lockerroom. I get the feeling these guys will go to war for each other.
Several times McNabb was tossed to the ground and I was shocked at how none of the players jumped to his defense. Winston Justice and Herremans have shown they are willing to committ penaltys to protect Vick. I like it, I love it, I want more of it. As the Late George Allen once said “40 men together can’t lose!”
Vick has any sense he will stay an Eagle just because of Reid
He goes somewhere else and he may fall back into old habits in his personal life
BTW any update on Reid’s kids ?
