Rodgers cleared to play against Giants

This is certainly good news for Eagles fans, who would love to see the New York Giants eliminated from the playoffs. There is nothing fun about having to face a division rival in the playoffs at any point.

So, this might help the Giants get headed in the wrong direction. According to ESPNMilwaukee.com, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to play after he suffered a concussion a couple weeks ago in a loss to the Detroit Lions.

He sent a text to Jason Wilde that simply said, “I’m baaaaaaacckkkk.”

Despite the fact that Matt Flynn played reasonably well against the New England Patriots, let’s be honest, he’s not Rodgers to say the least. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and it will be that much more difficult for the G-Men next week at Lambeau.

Would I be thrilled about facing the Packers in the playoffs (win the next two and they are in as a Wild Card)? Nope, but that’s the way it goes. There are no easy games in the playoffs unless you face off with an NFC West team. But, I’d rather play a non-divisional foe than someone who knows the Eagles inside and out from playing them twice a year.

Especially a team like the Giants that may or may not be a little testy after the way the last game ended.
