For 3rd Time In 7 Weeks, Michael Vick Is NFC Offensive Player Of The Week

Do you hear him coming Tom Brady?  Michael Vick is coming after that NFL MVP award.  As he said in the locker room celebration after the Eagles-Giants game, he’s bobbing and moving because THAT’S WHAT WE DO!

Yet again, Vick was named NFC Offensive Player of The Week for his performance against the New York Giants.  Nearly single-handedly, the Birds quarterback brought the Eagles back from a 31-10 deficit with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and led them to a comeback victory 38-31.

This was the 7th time in his career that he has been a recipient of the award and the third time in the last seven weeks.   Need I say anything else.

The Eagles are turning into the Vicks and this city is turning into Vickadelphia.  Few times in the history of Philadelphia has a single player captured the spotlight like Michael Vick has done.

He’s been playing like he’s starring in his own movie.  You know what going to win in a James Bond movie.  We know who comes out on top in a Indiana Jones movie.  Were you shocked when Rocky won in all the Rocky movies?

Maybe we need to stop being shocked as we watch Michael Vick’s movie.

It seems like the producer picked the right script for the movie.  Our hero was down and out for two years in jail.  He was on the bench at the start of the season.   He has had to win over people who hated him with a passion when he came here and at the beginning of the season.

There was an uprising by fans and members of the media when he was given the starting job.

The casting agent picked some quality bad guys like Giants coach Tom Coughlin.   Vick frustrates him until he loses his temper in front of every one.

Still the question remains.   Will our hero be able to dethrone Mr. Perfect, Tom Brady, who has his matinee idol looks, a Super Model wife and three uper Bowl rings.

This movie has got to end with the Eagles versus Patriots in the Super Bowl.  The game is on the line.   The clock is ticking down with Michael Vick and the Birds in possession of the ball with a chance to win it all.

If, you say that resembles a fantasy you’re right, but this whole season is starting to seem like a fantasy.  I just hope reality doesn’t wake us up before the perfect ending.

I dont care what anyone says vick took that last game over by himself, I mean do you think coaches want vick in the pocket for most of the game. Then once the 4th starts they let him run more, because by then defenses are tired from trying to keep up with the eagles speed all game?

It’s a conspiracy bigger than the Kennedy Assanination or the Watergate/Nixon cover-up of the 70’s. Commish R Goodell wants Vick to win the League MVP to show everyone what a great league the NFL is and how receptive they are in giving 2nd Chances and how they care about it’s players ..
A couple of sources of mine shared with me about an memo from the Commish’s Office that went out last week to QB’s T Brady & M Ryan, A Rodgers and to their Head Coaches
about toning it down for the reamining stretch of the season, and for their OFfensive Game plans
to call for more running the ball so that VIck’s overall QB Stats would be more impressive
In one report, I read where QB T Brady was so upset, that he decided not to cut his hair…
In another, I read where PAcker Coach McCarthy instructed Rodgers to stay down after being tackled and faked a concussion to come of the game… The Insanity of it all …
My last tid-bit of info is that Film-maker Oliver Stone has received the Green-Light to do a movie
on the Mike Vick story… My agent is working with the Stone team for our movie idea and casting
that we have discussed for over the last month, I am not so sure that O Stone is going to go for our version…

G makes a great point….Indy save them slaves…James always knocks the bad guy off of a private plane…Chuck Norris always kicked major a$4 at the endof a movie and beat the pi$$ outta the bad guy after the bad guy gave it too him for a bit(Giants)…point being…everyone is waiting for him too get killed, hurt, and jus knicked up enough to were we lose.Waiting for him to flounder and play bad.

He wont…he’s built different then most super stars.Look at the physical beating he took all game. And when we needed super human plays at the end of all that he said….here ya go. This team is on a mission now. Those kindsa wins and what we have been doing with regards too building a solid locker room the last few games is reason too believe in a deep run.

FYI….theres articles in Chinese newspapers about our dude….your looking at the start of a Philly legend.

The Giants have the most athletic front four in football. If we can beat them twice i dont care who we play and were in the NFC p-offs…the Birds get the W. We will be favored against all these teams. And Mike WILL do whatever it takes too win the game. The defense will do enough too stop teams and are good for a flurry of turnovers..specially in the wintry NorthBeast. It’s cold as a mole on a dead witch’s itty out daily.

the point being nfl loves how this thing is playing out, makes more money from dudes who don’t care about 7’s past with dogs, prison, etc, like jake, than it could make pandering to the petas and rheas (hughes on wip) of the world

We need to get these last two because Chicago is going to lose we need that #2 seed. The NFL has two dream match ups and that is Mike going back to the ATL and winning the NFC crown and then on to Dallas vs the Pats. Ratings will never be higher if that happens and then there is no way you can have a lock out after that. I’m just sayin!!!!

My son said before the game that the Giants were going to blow the Eagles out. I told him there was something special about this team and that the Eagles were going to pull out a close one. He told me that I was suffering from an overdose of drinking too much of the kool-aid. At halftime I called him to tell him he was right. He was now the football mind of the family. I went back to the resturant were my friend said we should leave this blowout. I told him as long as number 7 was playing I’m not leaving this place.

I stayed because earlier in the year Michael Vick started talking superbowl. I like that. The power of life and death is in the tounge. I liked what Herremans had said about him in the huddle. Confessing victory. I remembered all those playoff games when the cleveland browns lead by brian sipe would be kicking the crap out of the steelers. Somehow in the back of your mind you knew they did not really think they could beat the steelers. Sam Ratigilano and the browns would always figure out a way to lose, as the steelers lead by Bradshaw would always figure out a way to win. The Steelers simply believed that they should win. Period.

Sometimes it’s just as simple as believing. Mark 9:23

Vick is now has the perfect blend of roughneck, athletic, and intellect. Smart enough to run the offense, tough enough to command respect in the huddle. Great enough to make all believe that anything is possible.

Tom Brady is a great QB. A great leader. But even Matt Cassel put up big numbers in that offense, because almost any NFL QB looks good with plenty of time to throw.

Vick is the MVP.

greenfan “so what does your son say now?” – He said Wow!

jakedog – If my son was a giants fan he and I would’nt even be speaking (lol)!

No, he likes the Eagles, he just does not have the passion I have for them, because he did not grow up in Philadelphia like I did. He’s a sports fan. I’m a Eagles fan. I only care about 1 team and that’s the Eagles. It was nice to see the Phillies win, I like it when the Flyers do good, Love to see Temple and St Joes do great, but I only care about Eagles.

To all GCobb Bloggers – Enjoy the holidays.

PS – If you have not seen the response that Micah Warren gave to RealTalk in the Article about the Eagles making personnel moves. Check it out. It’s hilarious!

Yeah he is MVP

But IMHO you aren’t winning a SB having to rely on a QB’s running and there is a thing called defense

IMHO there ought to be 2 MVPs one for O and one for D

O line better shape up in a hurry ( hope there are no more injuries but getting through the last 2 games and playoffs without any more considering what has happened so far is being very optimistic ) and the secondary is very suspect

The better teams are coming up in the playoffs and miracles can only go so far

I would rather have Brady and the Pats’ O line than Vick and the Eagles’ O line

Dawkplex

Vick was also running the first 3 quarters but around the left end –5 times

The middle was open the last 10 minutes after he avoided the rush
