Eagles vs. Packers Game Time Chat

The players are on the Lincoln Financial Field turf loosening up for today’s game.  The turf shouldn’t be a problem but remember the wind.  It’s going to affect the passing and kicking games.

Eagles just announced the inactives for today’s game.  They are Hughes, Adams, Bradley, Jean-Gilles, Clark, Howard, McCray and Kafka is the 3rd quarterback.

It’ll be Nick Cole starting at the right guard position for the Birds with Max Jean-Gilles on the inactive list.

Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson have made statements all year in these big games.  They’ve got to make a statement today.  They might not be able to do as early as the other games, but if they run the ball and throw the ball short effectively, they’ll be able to connect later.

Make your predictions.

PHILLY 27-17
low-scoring first half, teams throwing body punches
2nd half is where most of the scoring will come
then on to chicago

Maclin and McCoy are the keys for me. Maclin needs to step up cause Jackson is going to get jammed by Woodson and end up going AWOL like he always does under press coverage. And McCoy needs to keep the offense balanced so we can sustain drives and keep Rodgers off the field.

Looks like Jackson is in a lot of pain. I’ll be surprised if comes back and makes an impact.

Reid is determined to prove the world wrong. He is intent on showing everyone that he can win by throwing more than anyone.

Reid’s got, for him, a very hard decision to make. Expect Reily Cooper to step in and do what Jackson does as a WR or, adjust his gameplan. Hmmmmm what to do! My money is on Reid not adjusting his gameplan.

Small defensive linemen equals no pressure. Last in NFL in redzone is a joke and McDermitt should be fired.

MaybeTheyCan

January 9, 2011 5:19 pm

Well, the defense isn’t playing well and hasn’t put any decent pressure on Rodgers and Reid’s called 8 passes and 2 runs. If there’s no change in the gameplan, it’ll be a long day to a one and done.

MaybeTheyCan

McDermot has been up and down and he certainly hasn’t done enough to win continued support but, tought to work with these lite fast balls that they always talk about to get pressure that doesn’t come

Without Jackson the WR become below avg to go along with the oline stinks, the dline stinks, the LB stink and the secondary stinks.

They run even when they are being stopped, because they understand the importance of controlling the pass rush.

As Aikman said, the Packers are more concerned with the number of carries, rather than the number of yards.

Time to sign Asomugha. Imagine that, Asoumugha shutting down one side of the field and the opposing QB having to gamble with Asante on the other?

There have been 13 pass attempts
8 rushes (6 mccoy, 1 harrison, 1 designed vick run)

Vinnie, got to also remember the holding penalty making it 2-20 and the sacks making it 3rd and long. Makes it an obvious passing down. So 13-8 aint too bad of a balance for now.

MaybeTheyCan
