Here’s The Letter From The Eagles To Their Fans

The Philadelphia Eagles are aware that most NFL fans don’t have the stomach for an extended work stoppage, so they did the right thing and immediately got a letter out to their fans. They want to make sure Eagles fans know that they’re still got their eyes on the prize and continue to be thinking about winning a Super Bowl.

Take a look at the letter and tell us what you think.

March 12, 2011

In light of the events that occurred yesterday, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the status of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and how it affects the Philadelphia Eagles. As we are sure you are aware, the contract between the league and the labor union representing the players has expired, the union decertified and we have entered into a lockout.

However, the NFL remains committed to collective bargaining and the federal mediation process until an agreement is reached – an agreement that is good for the long-term health of the league. We believe that a deal will get done.

We want you to know our focus is on preparation for the 2011 season and we are going to continue to do everything we can to strengthen our football team. We will be ready to take advantage of all opportunities within league rules to help reach our ultimate goal. We are also excited about the upcoming 2011 draft on April 28-30 and our preparation for that has been in the works for a long time.

Regardless of what transpires throughout this offseason, our commitment to winning a Super Bowl remains the number one priority throughout our entire organization. We are also committed to keeping an open line of communication with you and our entire fan base throughout these labor discussions. We plan on hosting several events throughout the off season that our fans can enjoy. Our annual Draft Party will take place on April 28 at Lincoln Financial Field.

We greatly appreciate your continued support.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner

You mean the Eagles haven’t won a Super Bowl Yet…
You would think all the hype from the EAgles FO/Coachign staffs, local media nad fans, that this Franchise has 2-3 Super Bowls by now..
They are a “6” on a scale of “10”.. Nothing more, nothing else..
and the fans keep lining up the pockets for the Owner of the Eagles years after year .. complacency and medicority is about all i’ve seen lately..

ya know paulman , you look at that picture above of lurie and you gotta think they did get close . just the other day on local sports talk radio , they were talking about how nd kalu came within a half inch of blocking a punt in the rams game (the 1st nfc title game) i kinda remember the play . if he blocks it they probably go to the super bowl. and go figure play the patriots. kinda like the fog rolling in. when you start thinking of stocks and buy low sell high he probably shoulda sold last year. that picture above shows me lurie saying damn! and joe trying to talk around it.

Honestly all of this is irrelevant until they reach a agreement ima huge eagles fan but this is all nonsense it really is… football is on the shelf and then you have the eagles send a letter out in an effort to stay relevant…. all the back n forth between DeMaurice smith and Pash was utterly ridiculous, two guys trying to sound smarter then the other and win the media and fans over

Well you can count me out… I’m with Micah let me know when they start playing games again

I could care less about football right now. We’ll be lucky if we survive this fall out. Who knows how far this crap can carry?
