Talented Oklahoma State Running Back To Visit The Eagles (Video)

The Eagles are reported to be getting a visit from Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter, who is on the small side and has great quickness. Aaron Wilson of National Football Post says Hunter will visit the Birds, but not necessarily workout for them.

He’s only 5’7″ and he weighs about 200 pounds, but this young man is a very good football player. Hunter showed everybody at the NFL Combine that he has great explosiveness and change of direction ability.

I like the way he runs on tape. He’s got with great vision and his instincts are those of a playmaker, who can make things happen in the open field. You could see that he would fit in as a great change of pace third-down back.

He’s got a strong lower body because he runs through tackles very well.

Hunter jumped 35.5 inches on the vertical leap and broad jumped 10’2″. You can see that explosiveness when he runs with or catches the football.

The smallish back isn’t a blazer when it comes to straight ahead speed, he ran a forty in the 4.5 range at the NFL Combine, but he can make tacklers miss and has the strength to break tackles.

I don’t see any way the Eagles would draft Hunter unless he were to fall into the fourth or fifth rounds, which isn’t likely. Of course the Eagles already have a young, productive running back in LeSean McCoy, so it would be a shock for the Birds to take a back in the early rounds. Hunter is expected to go in the second round of next month’s back.

Hunter will not only be visiting the Eagles but he will also visit the New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers and the New Orleans Saints, according to Wilson’s source. The young man is expected to have private workouts with the Saints, Patriots and the Denver Broncos.

I knew the Eagles would be looking at him and I can tell you why……..

The kid loves to block, he is a good blocker and considers it an important part of the game. Just google Kendall Hunter and blocking and I am sure you will find a story on it.

This guy kind of reminds me of a young Brian Westbrrok the way he runs and the way he plays and initiates contact.. Coach AR loves those smallish backs from Westbrook, the kid from Lousiana-Lafayette whose name escapes me, Lorenzo Booker, Eldra Buckley,
I would prefer a 6-1 240 RB who pecializes in short-yardage/Red-Zone Power Running myself,, There are eough smallish, speed guys on the Eagles Roster as it is..
