Eagles Worked Out Utah State Corner Curtis Marsh

According to Aaron Wilson of National Football Post, the Eagles worked out Utah State cornerback Curtis Marsh, who like the other cornerbacks the Birds have taken close looks at, has size, speed and quickness.

He’s got ideal height. He stands 6’1″ and he weighs 197 pounds. Marsh has shown blazing speed when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.37 and 4.42 seconds at the NFL scouting combine,

He jumped 37″ on his vertical jump. He jumped 10’3″ in the broad jump, which is amazing and bench pressed 225 pounds 12 times.

Marsh is expected to be drafted late in the second round or early in the third. He’s guy who the Birds could grab if they’re able to help their offensive line in the first round.

I’m not crazy about the way he attacks the ball in the air. He looks somewhat uncomfortable in those situations and seems to go up with only one hand to knock the ball down. I would like to see him attack the ball in the air with two hands while trying to intercept it..

Marsh’s size alone won’t get the job done against the big receivers he will have to defend.

You can see that the Eagles are making it a point to take a close look at any cornerbacks who have size. The memory of their right cornerbacks getting worked over by the Titans and Giants receivers must motivate them to schedule another cornerback to take a close look at.

In addition to the Eagles, Marsh has worked out for or will workout for or visit the following teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Miami Dolphins, the Oakland Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens. With all of these teams interested, the young man must have some talent.

He has bright future ahead of him and played in that wide-open “WAC” conference where teams love to throw the ball 40-50 times a game.. IS very good in Man Coverage and Zone Coverage and can even be a Return Guy in a pinch. He definitely will be gone by the 70th Selection so The Eagles may have to grab at #54 if they like him or if they are able to make some trades up or down ..

I think a mid-late 3rd Rounder is about right..
Maybe Coach AR can have him attempt to run the ball in from the 5 yd line instead of Chad Hall once in a while too..
