Peters And Cromartie Playing Tonight In ATL

Eagles Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters will be playing tonight despite a sore ankle and Achilles tendon. Peters will have his hands full with Atlanta Falcons defensive end John Abraham.

Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will also play tonight despite having twisted his ankle earlier this week. Rodgers-Cromartie will be a key coverage guy for the Birds because he’ll be asked to cover speedsters Roddy White and Julio Jones.

There will also be times in which Rodgers-Cromartie maybe asked to cover future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez.

The Eagles defense will be intent on stopping Falcons running Michael Turner, so they’re likely ask their cornerbacks in the regular defense and in the nickel to cover these guys man-to-man, so everybody else can focus on stopping the running game.

Songs, you were right…I just watched the pre-game. I heard nothing about Vick at all. It was like he doesn’t even exist. Those friggin’ racists.

Just a total pre-game Matt Ryan “golden boy” love fest. Especially the bit about his weak arm….’cause they said it was hig Golden Boy weak arm!!”

Pretty much the same…. our LBs can’t stop the run or cover intermediate routes and our safeties can’t cover either. Only this time the team we are playing is better than the Rams. We would have won despite those deficiencies if Vick didn’t get hurt but it still shows the problems we have on defense.

The 3rd Down call was a wasted Down tright there.. You have to think 2 downs to make 4 yeards and McCoy was hot up the middle.. I don’t understand the 3rd Down call on a 1 yard out route…
But the real reason the Eagles lost was their Defense (in particular the LB & Safety play) Matthews was a non-facotr in the middle again and Chaney missed a lot of tackles all 2nd half…
I don’t understand why you don’t have either DCR or even Rolle or even Safety Page lined up directly over TE Gonzales and not allow him a free release off the line of scrimmage.. Or at least try it for they weren’t stopping him with any other scheme..
Differnece was Falcons scored on all 5 Trips into the Red-Zone so to me, the EAgles has a better pass-rush, and better outside coverage but at the expense of weaker LB and Safety play and teams that utikize thier TE’s or go into ta no-huddle, short to intemdiate passes with a strong running game will eat this Defense up if they are paitient and hang onto the ball.. Eagles LB play was atrocious …

Reid should have challenged the interception by the Falcons. He is the worst in the league on challenges. In his press conference he said they didn’t see anything, even though his players did. Matthews runs away from the play and is out of position most times. Gonzales destroyed the linebackers and safeties. Those gadget plays are worthless as shit. He should have let Kafka play rather than clam up and hope the defense would hold. Falcons got 160+
yards in the 4th quarter.

Reid is very detailed oriented, so I’ll never understand why he will not change his review crew for instant replay.

Something is very wrong in that area. Could they get a guy to view the regular TV feed during games?

I’ve noticed since the Pre-Season that the Refs all around the NFL are letting the QB’s get hit a little more this year.. Now when a Defenser leads with his Helmet or hits the QB in the Head, then a Flag will come out everytime, but if they are hitting them cleanly and from the shoulders to the knee, they are letting them play which I think is good for the game..

Vick getting hurt, has nothing to do with the horrifying defensive play.Did Vick give up 5 for 5 TD’s in the red zone. Even with Vick in there, it was no guarantee they would have won. Vick had a bad game too. 2 fumbles & an int. Do you forget they scored 14 pts off our turnovers!? Wasted game’s that were put in by Maclin, Shady & the D-line. They need to put all of the LB’s, safeties & O-linemen on an island & nuke it. They are useless, worthless & can’t play, period, end of story! There is no debating it, stepford’s!! Now Vick is hurt & might be out 2-4 weeks. Kiss a SB good buy. Kafka & mentally challenged VY, to the rescue. Pathetic!!!
