Can Michael Vick Get Back To An Elite Level Without Andy Reid “The QB Whisperer”?

Donovan McNabb game has fallen so much since he was traded to the Washington Redskins that he’s no longer on an NFL roster.  Kevin Kolb who was won two NFC Offensive Player of The Week awards during his seven starts with the Eagles, is struggling in Arizona.  A.J. Feeley played his best NFL football during his time in Philadelphia.

Reid has won games and made the playoffs with the likes of Koy Detmer and Jeff Garcia.  There are coaches around the league who hold him up on a pedestal.  It’s as if they value any quarterback who Reid has worked with.  That’s the main reason Vince Young signed with the Eagles.

Reid’s work with the amazingly talented Michael Vick is considered by many as his best job of working with a quarterback.

Vick who had been considered by many to be washed up when he came out of Federal Prison, was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, during the first half of the 2010 season.  He was able to not only to use his speed to attack defenses, but unlike his years in Atlanta, Vick showed the ability to read defenses, go through his receiver progressions, then make the proper decisions and put the ball on the money.

He took care of the football by taking what the defense gave him, so that he avoided turnovers, but exhibited great decision-making along with his unmatchable speed and extraordinary arm-strength.  Reid got credit for taking this unbelievable athlete and training him to be a polished quarterback.

Quite a few NFL talent evaluators believe Reid is a type of “Quarterback Whisperer”.  It’s one of the reasons they scooped up McNabb, Kolb and Feeley in trades during Reid’s tenure here.

That leads us to the questions which will have a great affect upon Reid’s future here in Philadelphia.  Is “Big Red” the only offensive mind who can take Vick’s game to the next level?

He hasn’t had much success with Vick since the Giants started blitzing him at Lincoln Financial Field a year ago.  Unfortunately the lefthander’s game went south at the end of the season a year ago, when teams started coming after him with everything but the kitchen sink.

The former Virginia Tech star is still struggling to rediscover the groove he was in.  Vick has been throwing too many interceptions and unable to get the Birds into the endzone with the frequency he did in the 2010 season. He got a huge contract from the Birds, but his game hasn’t gone back up the heights it was at a year ago.

Vick is the key to the Eagles future and he’s also the key to Reid’s future with the team.  In team owner Jeffrey Lurie’s mind and in the mind of the head coach, Vick is the most important player on the football team.

I think Lurie and Joe Banner will step back after the season to look at the big picture, but their focus will be on Vick and whether they think Reid will be a necessary component to helping the quarterback get his game back together.

Reid will likely argue that the NFL lockout this past off season and the coaching staff’s inability to work with him during that time have hurt the quarterback’s progress.  Anybody else who will be considered for the head coaching job will either be capable of taking Vick’s game to the next level or an offensive coordinator who has a track record of working well with quarterbacks.

I know that Lurie, Banner and the rest of the Eagles front office have tremendous respect for Reid, but they might also feel that they can find the next hot assistant coach to help.  They’ve seen him get tremendous production and value from the Birds quarterbacks of the last 13 years, but does Vick’s decline show that he no longer has the quarterback magic.

The answer to these questions will decide Reid and the Eagles futures.

Reid will obviously be back next year. The question is who will be coaching the defense?

Spot on Gobb and this is exactly one of the biggest reasons why Coach AR will be back for the 2012 Season (As I have stated since Day 1)..
Thye as a Franchise have already committed to Vick as their Franchise QB with the Contract they gave him back in September.. (We can all debate whether that was the smart move or not) but bottom line, who is Lurie & Banner & Co going to feel is going to be able to get the most of that Investment (Vick).. some unproven Assistant who would be learning on the job as a HC,absolutely not.. It’s Coach AR.. Vick and AR are tied to the HIp and will both be back for the 2012 Season.. Now if 2012 is another down year, then AR will definitely be gone and maybe QB Vick too..

Is anyone else tired of hearing 94WIP – the voice of the Eagles – bad mouthing the team? I agree I am not happy with the season, but I’m still a fan.

No Green Blood, I’m fine with them bad mouthing the team. Eagles fans bad mouth the team because we’re passionate and desperately want a superbowl. It’s a way of venting. If we didn’t care, we’d be cool with all the awful decisions they make. If you want to be a fan of a team like that, go root for Jacksonville or St. Louis.

Look around the NFL and the other Job Openings

#1) MIami Dolphins – They play in the AFC East with Patriots & Jets so plenty of exposure, Coach for a Franchise with a Championship History and expectations, Coach a Team with no real Franchise QB in place so you can come in and Draft a QB and mold the Team to your style and liking.. this would be a verry good fit for a BIll Cowher or John Gruden type
I believe the Dolphins have to go with a big Name to excite the Fans again

#2) KC Chiefs – Another proud franchise with a Championship (back in 1970) but a very rabid fan base who have been very paitient as many people in the Mid-West genreally are.. Play in AFC West where it appears the Chargers are rebuiling and the Bronocs on the rise with Tebow-Ball in full force and the Raiders are the Raiders..Chiefs have some good young talent at the Skills positions and we decimated with season ending injuries by Safety Eric Berry, RB J Charles, TE T Moeaki and even QB M Casell, add in talented WR’s D Bowe, S Breaston, J Baldwin and this a roster which has a lot to work with and could easily be back to Playoff Contention in 2012 playing in the wide-open AFC West… Lots of People mention former Broncos Coach Josh McDaniels since he’s worked with GM Scott Pioli back when they were both with Patriots, but I feel McDaniels is a little to brash, cocky and arrogan which is the same personality issues that plauged Todd Haley.. I believe you will see Iowa University Football Coach Kirk Frentz offered this Position and who very well may be offered the Penn State Job too…

I will discuss the HC Positions for the Jaguars,Chargers & Rams who appear will all be looking for new HC for the 2012 Seasons

and about Eagle bashing,
What cracks me up and is actually kind of sad in a way is the fact that so many Eagle Fans bought into the hype about this team and were so very critical of people who had legitimate critiques and concerns about this team like me when some of us stated in August that this 2011 Eagle team just wasn’t very good, had a lot of new faces, and a lack of leadership and really started the season with below caliber LB’s and SAfeties and ended up paying the price for it.. I think it’s safe to state that both D-Jax/J Maclin had very poor seasons both physically and mentally and that the Eagle WR Corps in general have been overhyped and overrated for a while now and are simply average when you compare them to WR Corps of the other teams in the NFC like the GIants,Cowboys,Packers,Falcons,Saints…
I would also state that Fans expected to see the Vick of that 5 great weeks stretch last season in Oct/Nov and not the Vick who has played this Season like he has over his entire career… High risk, high reward, but this Season seemed to have limited rewards and just the high risk with his play…
Anyways, it was a disappointing season and there is no way I would have thought they would be this bad.. I was thinking a 9-10 win Season after a slow start, but thought they would turn it on after the BYE week but those back to back home losses to the Bears & Cardinals did their Season end and then the pathetic effort out in Seattle did me in…
There is always next year, but I wasn’t crazy with this Roster to begin with and am interested to see who comes and go as well as the Coachign Staff
Castillo needs to be replaced and I think Coach MM leaves on his own and may gte some other Coaching opportunites (Chargers,Chiefs,Penn State would not all be out of the realm of possibilty)

add to the Def Secondary Coach Johhny Lynne as needing to get replaced also,
He’s not done a very good job for most of the other teams he’s Coached at in my opinion and is too old school and out of touch with todays offenses..
He potentially has 3 Pro Bowl CB’s for 2011 and instead has them all playing their worse ball as Professionals..and then on to the Safeties.. N Allen has regressed and and I can’t blam Coach Lynne on Jarrett who is just simply not NFL Material and should have never been slected as the 55th Overall Selection in the 2011 Draft. which has to go down as the biggest “reach” in Coach AR era since LB Matt McCoy was selected in the 2nd Round way back when
4th or 5th Round for Jarrett I can see, but mid 2nd Round was just plain assanie as selecting a Kicker with a 4th Round pick…

Paulman, very true! I for one did not believe the Eagles would be a 13 or 12 win team this season…I understood there would be growth, development, chemistry needed this year. I understood how the little training camp, could hurt this team…So with that said, I have been very disappointed with this teams efforts. Granted I’m a realist, and realize there were games that we loss on our own, especially early on in the season. The Eagles offense ranks in the top five in pretty much every major statistic, and that includes turnovers…We hardly create turnovers on defense, so that spells disaster…

Sundays, when I’m in front of the TV, I end up chasing my whole family out of the living room because I’m cussing, smacking the couch, calling every single player a dumb ass (I know a bit immature, but thats my passion!! yes even Vick I’ve called a dumb ass or said WTF, yes my boy!) So don’t think that us fans that get on here and defend this team, don’t have issues with whats going on…We just deal with it in a much more mature manner than the cats that come on here throwing temper tantrums! We all know the defense has been an issue, we knew coming in that the defense may be an issue (Castillo) Back when Castillo was promoted I hated the idea, and still do! I wan’t him gone, but I’m not gonna single him out with every single Eagles loss. The same can be said for the offense…
But at the end of the day, I’m gonna support my squad as if I’m a player in the locker room…
this is why I hold my bitching and moaning to a minimal! Maybe because I played sports at a high level and can relate, I have a different opinion than most of you that probably never played sports past popwarner, Tee Ball, or Pal b ball..

How anyone could put Vick in the “elite” class of QB’s is ridiculous… you mean with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, P. Manning? Those guys are so far above him it’s sick. Then there is another small group of QB’s like Ryan, Staub, Eli M. right under them. I’d take any of those mentioned before Vick who can’t even stay healthy for a full season.
Anyway, I agree with the comment of Reid being a “QB Whisperer.” If Vick is so good, he’ll be able to play under any OC/HC. Kolb can’t even outplay Skelton these days. How much did Reid help Mike McMahon?
Lurie couldn’t move Reid fast enough out of town for my liking, but we’ll see if Lurie has the stomach to part with Reid and give the fans a new & better hope with a new HC and defense.

the only limiting condition to Reid’s return next year is a collapse the next three games, I thought Reid was gone, but in seeing the contract status with Vick, paulman is correct, Reid and Vick will be given one more year to see what they can do, real is correct about this, piss, wine, for what, it doesn’t matter, this team is flawed, but its our team, at least for now, lets see the next three games, no excuses, enough time, get it done

Does everyone still think that the Rams QB Sam Bradford is a Franchise QB..
He looked horrible last evening against the all of the sudden hot Seahawks who could possibly sneak in as a WIld-Card and catch the Falcons or Lions..
I am not so sold on Bradford yet as being the real deal..

Fire Castillo and let the new DC hire his own staff. Lynne has to go. He has been a loser everywhere he has been. I never understood what experience matters if it is experience failing. Get rid of Samuel. He is not worth the money he makes. Nnmadi and DRC start next year and DRC can stop pouting about being a sub and maybe try to play for his next contract if the new DC and secondary coach can motivate him to live up to his thus far wasted potential. New DC brings in veteran safety and LB he has worked with before. Hopefully some leaders emerge. Draft defense. Primarily an impact player in the first round. Move up if you have to AR. Your job depends on it. Stop hoarding lower picks! Otherwise you can take them with you when you pack up your office next January. You better find a way to fix this defense and bring some balance to the offense. Maybe listen to the new coordinator if MM leaves. Get Vick straightened out if you can. But the money has probably already gone to his huge ego. Otherwise you are all out of chances.

Paulman….Atl has Jax and Tampa at home left on the schedule. They’re in. Lions have to beat Raiders and Chargers so they may be caught if Chargers beat Ravens this week and still have something to play for next week. Detroit is going to have to earn it. Atl’s whole schedule has been a joke. They will get tossed in the first round no matter who they play. They are nothing outside the Georgia Dome.

I buy the hype every year Pman – whats our record next year – 16-0 and we win the SB! Actually I don’t care about the hype, lack or hype, pre hype, post hype or any other type of hype – I care about the eagles – I am ashamed of myself for saying other teams had better QBs then our team – I will be JUST as big an eagle fan – proudly, proudly drinking that sweet delicious midnight green kool aid if Andy Reid is the coach or is not the coach, if Mike Vick is the QB or if Mike Kafka is the QB –

RT is right – listening/readin some of the comments – isn’t it funny we spend more time mocking those that fully 100% support the eagles then we do mocking a douche like Songs who writes about the Jets kicking the Eagles teeth in? ISn’t it sad when people right they want the team to lose out when the team still has a very miniscule chance to get into the playoffs?

I also find it funny peopl eexcuse being assholes with being passionate – if you are a passionate fan – then be a passionate fan – saying people venting and bitching about the eagles are really passionate is like saying Jerry Sandusky is passionate about kids or the chronic wife beater is passionate about his wife – ITS WRONG (not illegal like in those other cases) – what kind of friends/fans are you – and you do have a choice – walk away. Wash your hands of the team – but why the need to piss all over the team, the players, the coaches the organization (and the players girlfriends – really – that’s passion) That’s not passion – that juvenile immaturity –

lets go kick the shit out of the Jets this week and see if maybe we can get lucky and Roimo sucks as usual and the giants can find a way to piss all over themselves

When MM gets another job, Andy can hire Juan as the OC. He was an O line coach so he is perfect for the job. He has to keep Juan around in some capacity. Maybe when Mudd decides he is sick of it and wants to retire again, they can make Juan the O line coach again and he can go fuck up everyhting that Mudd fixed after Juan broke it the first time. Or if nothing else is available he can be the team fluffer. Everytime he takes a break to get some air he can utter the phrase “work hard” and then start fluffing again.

To Jbird,

I think a perfect hire as DC for next Season is former Titan DC Chuck Cecil..
who in turn can bring in his former Secondary Coach Tim Hauck.. combine with these Washburn who all worked together at the Titans.. I don’t think Coach Ar (who is facing a must win Season in 2012) has any time on his Side to have an entirely new DC and Staff come in and change all the Schemes around, Coach AR simply does not have that luxurty and any Hire he would make would know this coming in.. They need 3-4 pieces (A real MLB, a real Strong Safety and maybe another OLB and DT and move Samuel as some of us have stated, then build on what you got and go for it again in 2012.. This is the most important off-season in recent Eagle history and if they screw this up and stand pat or bring in a bunch of new Coaches with new Schemes and different backgrounds, then 2012 won’t be much better than this 2011 was…

As far as a replacement at OC if MM would leave

#) Former Packer/Texas A&M HC Mike Sherman would be a good hire and goes back with Coach AR back to their Packer days.. He knows the WCO well and is well respected around the NFL as a very good Offensive mind
#2) Promote Doug Pederson as the OC though Coach AR would be calling teh plays most likley, again, Coach AR will be going into 2012 with must win results and will probably attempt to handle these duties himself with his job on the line…

NFC East 4-2
Saints-loss (too much offense)
Atl-win (it will be home game and they can’t beat decent teams on the road)
Car & TB-split
Balt & Pitt-losses (AR has terrible record against top defenses)
Seattle/Ariz & Bears-split

9-7

jbird,

I see Falcons making it in due to the soft schedule and agree they are not a very good road team away from the dome. I think the Lions and Bears will continue to fade as seasons winds down and quite possibly the Seahawks or even the loser of Giants/Cowboys could make it in as 2nd Wild-Card..

December 13, 2011 1:50 pm

I like both coordinator ideas. Sherman is more of a peer to Reid than a flunkie and he will stand up for running the ball if he believes that is what is best in the situation. Cecil has more hard nosed approach that this team needs. Trent Cole is still going to be a pussy that can’t lead or finish no matter who the coach is but he should get the other guys to respond.

I think J Castillo gets demoted down to the LB’s Postion Coach and possibly be groomed under Boby April as a potential Special Teams Coach for down the road

As far as next Season, I think about 8-9 wins is about right
My breakdown is something like the following

NFC East (4-2 Record)
NFC South (2-2 Record Beat Bucs,Falcons, lose to Saints,Panthers)
AFC North (1-3 Record Beat Browns, lose to Steelers,Ravens,Bengals)
NFC Conference 3rd Place finishers (1-1 beat the Cardinals, lose to the Bears)

Coach AR and the Complete Staff are Terminated

HC Al Golden from Unverisrty of Miami (and formerly of Temple) is Hired as the next HC of the Eagles.. Banners of “Back to the Golden Age of Eagle Football” and strewn around the City of Brotherly Love
unfortunately Golden has a difficult time adjusting to the NFL and only coaches for 3 Seaons with a combined record of 18-30… EAgles then turn to
Dick Vermiel who comes out of retirement and a literally a retirement home to Coach the EAgles to their 1st SUper Bowl Victory in 2017 as Eagles QB Skylar Morhnerwig wins MVP after a fantastic game …
And as in the Christmas/Santa Claus story, the ending will be something like

Their Offense led by Rookie QB Dalton, Young WR’s AJ Green,Simpson,TE Gresham with a solid RB Benson is only going to improve and their Defense flys to the ball and has a very active and young DL & LB

RealTalk, if you think I’m a dumb ass, that is ok. I’m sorry that I think our front office is a joke and our GM has a huge inability to evaluate talent. I’m sorry that we have a coach who cannot win a superbowl, perpetually has issues with clock management, does not value key positions like linebackers, and refuses to give the best runningback in the NFL the ball enough times to win games. Hey, here’s an idea RealTalk, lets sign the top free agent Nnamdi Asomogua who is considered one of the best shut down corners in the game and have him play zone coverage all year because Andy is smarter than everyone else. If that’s not enough for you, Andy really showed that he is smarter than anyone in football when he hired an offensive line coach to be the new defensive coordinator. If that’s the kind of stuff you think us fans are supposed to get behind then I’m sorry sir, but YOU are the dumb ass and look absolutely foolish. We are not required as fans to support every action and decision this front office makes and we’re certainly not required to support various players on this team who have no heart. I’ll always be a fan but I will voice my my disdain when I see fit. Perhaps Russia or China would be a better spot for you to go and NOT voice your opinion.

Paulman……..Eagles will have only five winning seasons in the next twenty culminating with an 0-18 record in 2029. A new regime will start with a 3-15 record in 2030. After going 9-11 in the first twenty game season in 2031, they make the playoffs for the first time in twelve years in 2032 with a 12-8 record and lose in the first round. In 2033, they lose in NFCC to finish 18-5 including the playoffs. In 2034, they go 24-0 and win the SB. The long Lombardi curse is finally put to rest after 74 years. They become the first team to win four straight and five in six years as they are the team of the 2030’s. After a couple down years, they win back to back titles in 2042 & 2043 to make it seven in ten years. Eagles histroy is rewritten (much like Steeler histroy after 1979 when forty years of losing from 1933-1972 was forgotten).

Geez Casey Mathews or Jason Avant must be commenting on here after reading some of the comments. Why are Eagles fans not allowed to bash the players or the coaches when they do ridiculous things on the football field? How does that wipe them out as being passionate and instead assholes? A fan’s job is to show up. Its to buy tickets, merchandise, etc…not to baby the team or be an apologist for the despicable crap they have put on the football field this year. As far as I know, I spend a lot of money to go to these games like other fans do and if your paying the money (which makes the players/coaches/FO very rich) who in the hell do people think they are to tell you how to boor or cheer for the team. By showing up to the game as a fan I have done my part in this thing…the players and coaches have failed miserably to do their part this year, plain and simple. When Ronnie brown decides to do a flea flicker at the one yard line I will tear him apart just like many of the other ridiculous plays we have seen this year. Again, eagles fans job is to show up which as far as I know the Linc is packed year in and year out. The team hasn’t showed up and they deserve to be bashed for it.

In regard to the post, I think Vick is what he is…He might have a game again like he did during that stretch last year but he will also have really bad games where he will look terrible. But hoping that he will be that player that he was in the 1st half of last year on a regular basis is not realistic. Its not like he is young or hasn’t had enough experience. He can run and make sum unbelievable plays. But he still cant read a D on a quality basis like an elite QB and he can’t stay healthy for a season. That stuff is not going to change at this age in Vicks career.

BTW, does anyone think Tebow is the Vick of this year. The situations seem to be similar to me. You have an unconventional type of player that can make a play with the legs or arm which people havn’t really figured out yet. Tebow def has a clutch gene in him but i Just think by next year when there is an offseason and plenty of tape on him for coaches to study he won’t be nearly as effective like Vick is this year. Atleast the broncos won’t throw elite QB money on him right away

Can someone answer me why Reid is still coach when his last 7 seasons were no better than Buddy Ryan’s 5 years here and u can even throw in Kotite and Rhoads who had Peete,Detmer,Hoying,Brister as starting QB plus had 5 or 6 tough games a year while Reid might have 1 or 2 tough games and still 2 of their 4 seasons were 10 + wins….i am just saying we were tougher on coaches years ago now we settle for this

@BTC- Is BTC an acronym for Beat That C**T? maybe I took it too far, I apologize! really I do! I’m sorry that you must of been fed with a silver spoon all your life…and probably never had any type of adversity….

But again I apologize, I hate that the Eagles don’t have a SB..All of my “boys” are Steelers, Giants, Ravens or Cowboys fans…all they have to do is say one thing during our team bashing escapades and you all know what that is “Where is your SB” …I hate it! Can’t wait for the day, when I can say to them ” we just won the SB, when was the last time your team won”

But seriously you must obviously not know or understand how elusive a Professional sports championship is. I hate the fact that we haven’t won the SB, but I appreciate the fact that we have been one of the top teams in the last 10+years UNDER ANDY REID If everyone won a title, then it wouldn’t mean a damn thing! Also again, you must have a hard time reading and comprehending. I already stated my disdain for this team and choices in my previous post, but again I didn’t go on a tantrum ridden rant like you just did, which just adds proof to exactly what I was talking about.

are you serious? I’ll break your wing! do you know me personally? Is it because I’m black that you believe the things you do about me? or do you just believe that all balck people act this way? you’re the type of cat that probably calls a black man the N word behind his back, right? I got you figured out… you probably also believe that every black man behind bars is guilty, right? or every violent crime is committed by a black man too, right? . So because I support Vick’s football play, I have to agree that there was no wrong in fighting dogs? how silly do you sound? Are you really still talking about, Vick and his dog fighting anyway? or is it your true colors shining through, of why you really don’t like Vick?

RealTalk, not really sure how us complaining about a team that we are passionate about leads to you saying I was fed with a silver spoon or never faced adversity. I think you’re really reaching to try and get your point across and it’s clearly not working. To be honest, sounds like you’ve never won anything in your life because that attitude is something I would expect from someone who accepts losing.

I realize winning a championship is a very hard thing to do but I also realize that the Eagles have made decisions that are blatantly obvious as to why they haven’t won a superbowl. When was the last time a playoff even worthy of the playoffs took their offensive line coach and made him defensive coordinator? I don’t even think it’s even ever happened. But hey, lets all just enjoy and rally behind this 5-8 team for what it is. We should never complain about the Eagles. From now on, we will only praise what they do. Hell, maybe Andy will resign because he thinks Juan Castillo is the right guy to take his spot.

@BTC – I’ll keep it real with you…I agree with pretty much everything you just said, I dont agree with a lot that I’ve seen from these team and expect more us real Eagles fans deserve more…But the reason we began going back and forth, in the first place was because you are using the word passionate to describe fans, that bash their team day in and day out…Thats not passion….lets look at the true meaning of the word passion, shall we…

Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something.
The term is also often applied to a lively or eager interest in or admiration for a proposal, cause, or activity or love – to a feeling of unusual excitement, enthusiasm or compelling emotion, a positive affinity or love, towards a subject, idea, person, or object.

Enthusiasm, Love, Positive affinity towards something???
So tell me how does bashing the team you love = passion? I dont get it….

Fair enough RealTalk. I think the way we on this board use the term passion describes how much we want our Eagles to win. It’s only natural that fans get upset when things don’t go so well. It’s funny, Eagles’ fans have been notorious for booing their team when things go bad but I was at the Eagles/Redskins game this year at FedEx and they were booing the hell out of the Redskins. Even watching other teams play on TV, you constantly hear the fans boo when the team is playing terrible. It’s just the nature of being a “passionate” fan. We only get this fired up and mad because we care so much. There is no team in sports that can make me so happy and so mad than the Eagles. If my passion was any less, I probably wouldn’t care when they promote Juan Castillo; I probably wouldn’t care when they start the season 1-4; I probably wouldn’t get when they blow a 23-3 lead in the 2nd half over the 49ers; and I probably wouldn’t care that they can’t win a superbowl.

I agree Paul, Mike Sherman would be a great ( A word I don’t use lightly) selection. Sherman’s bio reads in part, “… was head coach of the Packers from 2000-2005 and compiled a 57-39 regular season record and a 2-4 post season record during that period. Despite that achievement, Sherman was fired by the Packers on January 2, 2006, AFTER compiling a 4-12 record-Green Bay’s FIRST losing record since the 1991 season.”

Seems Green Bay doesn’t entertain the same patience as the Eagles’ ownership. Of course, with that history, he’d be a grave threat to Reid’s continued longevity.

Just went to the players review from the Daily news and Read Watkins poor game which the opposing teams target for pressure on Vick. Watkins was horrendous and leads us to ask questions. What in the hell did the scouting team and Andy see in this 27 year old bum to warrant a first round pick for him?
Have Watkins did anything special at all ? At 27 years of age can we expect an upside? Decisions like this and the promotion of Juan Castillo tells us it time for Andy to take a break for a while. He’s brain numb and I really don’t want him in position to pick players in the early rounds going forward.

Songs, your boy Vick had a great season last year older than 27. Babin is dominating at an older than 27 year old age. And MANY MANY OL have had great years after 27. So the answer to your question of whether we can expect an upside is – well the age certainly has nothing to do with it at all if you use any sense or logic.

Tonto – yeah – winning percentage. You know, like winning games? It’s this concept in sports, get someone to explain it to you. Reid’s winning percentage was better than all those coaches. Oh sorry, got too technical for you?
