Something’s Not Right About The Lou Williams Robbery Story

What did you think of the story Lou Williams told Bob Cooney of the Philly.com the other night.  Williams says he had a gun pulled on him by a would-be-robber, who upon recognizing who he was reconsidered robbing him because of the guard’s community work. I can vouch for Williams’ community work, but to think that the guy didn’t rob him because of it, is a stretch for me.

Here’s how Williams recalled it.

“A guy tried to rob me but decided not to because of whatever I do in the community,” said Williams a couple of nights ago. “He’s a Lou Williams fan so he didn’t rob me.”

“There’s crime everywhere,” said Williams. “I was debating whether to pull off or help the guy. The gun was already out. He did all the talking and we came up with a solution before I could really say much. I treated him to McDonald’s.”

There’s no way I would have taken the guy to McDonald’s.  I couldn’t forget the fact that the guy had just pulled a gun on me.  While sitting there at the McDonald’s he might reconsider and decide to rob me again.  He might decide to rob the McDonald’s.

Am I supposed to reason from this story that the guy had pulled the gun on Williams because he needed something to eat?  Is this guy going to continue being the “stick-em-up man”?

I don’t totally buy this story. Did Williams report the robbery attempt to the police?  Are we supposed to see the robber as a good guy?

What about you guys?  Would you have reacted like Williams and treated the guy to something to eat at McDonald’s?

For one, attention to detail is vital. Lou didn’t tell the guy to get into his car. He didn’t casually go up and sit with the guy at McDonalds to eat.

The guy went to rob Lou Will, recognized him, and then probably decided NOT to rob him but still probably asked him for some money probably saying something along the lines of “aww man lou will, at least lemme’ get some bread so i can get something to eat at mickey d’s or somethin'”…..and Lou probably hooked him up with a couple bucks, figuring that was better than being robbed anyway.

Again, I wasn’t there so I don’t know the story, but from what I READ, Lou just gave him cash for McDonalds….which in essence, he still got robbed….just for a miniscule amount.

My Sources stated it was “Songs” who held him up..who then had a change of heart after hearing Lou WIlliams state that he doesn’t like Evan Turner either…

If it was Iggy, he would have got robbed, car jacked, & possibly pistol whipped. In all seriousness GC, it don’t jive with me neither. No way would I have bought him lunch. He would have eaten some hot lead.
