Jeremy Maclin Has A Hip Pointer Injury, May Not Play Sunday

Andy Reid just finished his weekly news conference and he says starting wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has soreness in one of his hip flexors and he’s day to day.  Theres no certainty that he will play next week against the Baltimore Ravens.

I think they need to bring back free agent wide receiver Mardy Gilyard to this football team.  He was the most complete receiver they released a week ago.

“As you know with hip flexors and hip pointers, they hurt you a lot more the next couple of days than they do when the thing actually happens,” Reid said. “But he battled through it.”

Maclin showed me something yesterday.  He hurt his hip early in the game, but refused to not be there for his football team.  Hopefully he’ll be able to get back to play on Sunday.

The Eagles only healthy wide receivers are DeSean Jackson, Jason Avant and Damaris Johnson.  Riley Cooper is on the roster but he’s still recovering from a shoulder blade fracture.  Avant hurt his wrist, but he’s a tough player and I think he’ll definitely be ready to line up next week.

They have Marvin McNutt and B.J. Cunningham on the practice squad but I don’t think either one of them is ready to help this football team right now.

He admitted that the Birds could have run the football more against the Browns with Michael Vick having a terrible day.

The Eagles officially have the worse Quarterback in the division. You dont win Superbowls if you are worse than your rivals under center.

Through the rough outing, I’m still proud of Vick and the team for sticking it out and getting that last minute TD to win the game. Last year, that wouldn’t have happened.

Proud of Vick?!?!?!? O~o
Are you F^#@ing serious? He had 4 int’s, had 3 more dropped, & fumbled twice that he recovered, & basically played like Ray Charles! WTF, is there to be proud about. Yes we won the game, but we won despite him, against the F^#@ing Browns, with 15 rookies playing! THAT’S FIFTEEN!!!!!

WTF?

The guy hit 3 Cleveland Browns players with his throws on the final drive. One of them right on the lB’s hands. He also put the ball on the turf.

It was only due to pure, dumb, God hates Cleveland luck that the Eagles’ still had the ball at the end to make the last play.

Stop deluding yourself.

VTV — I’m living in reality. The Lber could have picked off the ball. The game would have been over IF he picked it off. DRC could have ran back a 100 yard INT return IF he would have intercepted the ball when he had a chance. The Browns could have recovered a fumble IF Vick didn’t recover it first. My Aunt would be my Uncle IF she had balls.

Point is, the LBer DIDN’T intercept it. He DIDN’T get it done. Therefore, Vick DID.

Now, did Vick throw a TD to win the game or didn’t he? It’s a simple yes or no question.

This is their pre-season game. Because remember Vick was hardly with the first team in the preseason due to injuries. Just be glad they got out of there with a win. As far as the actual performance, there are going to be ugly wins. Would you rather have played a better game like Rodgers did and lose? or win ugly like the Eagles did?

It doesn’t matter who the opponents are because they can only play who are lined up in front of them. As far as the division goes, Reid always managed to win, as evident with the winning record within the division eventhough the season was a disaster.

If Mike Vick would have threw the ball a lil to the outside the LB’er wouldn’t have touched it
If Mike would have spun to the left instead of the right he would have ran another 2 yds and got out of bounds
If the kicker would have waited til the winds were blowing to the right he would have made that kick

Vick played terrible, but 91 yard drive to win it I’ll take it, a win is a win is a win. Man oh man the qb was shaky though 56 passes after only 6 snaps were way too many!!!

Talking about next year? Are you kidding me?
Talking about a new coach? Are you kidding me?

Listen… Vick sucked… FINE. we get that. But this team is going places… i dont care what you say. Y??

Ryans SMASHED in his first game.
They stopped the run!
Kendrix smashed out there.
Nnamdi played with heart.
McCoy ran like a beast when they let him.
DRC played like I expected him to play a year ago.
Coleman played bigger than he is.

My friends…. save the “next year” talk. This team will be fine. Im standing on this…. jump ship if you want. Im staying.

All against a team, that played 15 rookies, that will be lucky to win 5 games, & OH YEAH, we needed to come from behind, to win by 1 point! ONE POINT!!!! Talk to me after the next 5 weeks, against the Ravens, Cards, Giants, Steelers & Lions. If they play like they did on Sunday, we will be lucky to win 1 game, of the 5!

and as bad as Vick was… as bad as the oline was….. they put up 2 scored when the time was running out. 2 TD’s with 2 mins left. I also trust that if Vick keeps this up…. Foles will come in and do fine. This team is too good to be at the bottom.

The real interesting question isn’t so much who they bring in if Maclin can’t go, but who gets dropped if they bring someone in? Hmmm…..

I’m so tired of Andy Reid!!!!

It doesn’t matter how many experts clamor against his pass happy antics, and doesn’t matter the fans see the same, he’ll continue to neglect a balanced attack.

Let him trying dropping back 80% of the time against the Ravens tis weaken if he want to.

He’ll have no QB’s or Receivers to contend for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Running the Ball helps in so many areas.

It help the offensive line to wear down the opposing defensive lines.

It helps the QB stay upright along with setting up play action for big plays.

It helps with clock management while giving your defense the rest it needs to close out games.

How is it Andy ignores these glaring important factors with all his knowledge of the game?

We will never win a Superbowl with this guy as head coach…never!!!!!!

And I see the fans blasting Mcnabb while coddling Reid, when Mcnabb saved his fat out of the fire many days, and if there was an effort to commit to the run game, we might be sitting on 2-3 Superbowls from Mcnabb’s era.

Now, I don’t excuse Vick for his play……

But, wouldn’t it serve Vick’s skill set better if we Ran the Ball?

Wasn’t Vick’s best years in Atlanta due to a high dose of the run game along with Crumpler as a relief valve?

If you’re not going to mask Vick’s deficiencies by running the ball then Play Foles, but if you want to use Vick’s special skill set you must help him by running the ball and calling misdirection plays……. not 5-7 step drops against the blitz.

I guarantee you every time Vick drop back to throw that the opposing team will send an extra rusher which causes Vick to think.

When Vick thinks….He makes mistakes..that’s the truth.

He’s an instinctive yet gifted Athlete…not prototype QB.

Andy Reid please help the guy and give it to your 2 running backs in the beginning of games so Vick can get settled in…

Let’s try doing what SB winning teams do for a change.
GEESH!

For as bad as Vick was the reverend songs is correct, the coach is abysmal Andy Reid is the most overrated, dumbest, arrogant head coach in the history of the national football league if not of all professional sports

Per Howard Eskin
Clock management was McNabb’s fault not Reids
Plays came in on time but McNabb couldn’t get the calls right and even Brian Westbrook had to help him out

Back to Current 2012 Eagles Squad
I stated this Eagles WR Corp was light with only 5 PLayers on 35 Man Roster
Why carry 4 RB’s when you pass 70% of the Time and especially when you have smallish Recievers who are injury prone like D-Jax,Maclin and who know how little Danarius Johnson can hold up.. Another Roster blunder by AR & Roseman.. SHould have kept Gilyard to begin with and especialyl with Riley Cooper hurt and unproven to begin with…
Now If th Eagles ran the ball 60-65% of the time, then I can see keeping 4 RB’s but we all know that AR & MM are passaholics, sop you may as have as many Receivers as you can…

How can this guy pass the ball as many times as he does with arguably the best back in the league??. I really try to give him the benefit of the doubt. but 14 years is too long. The lack of recievers in years past, the lack of a returner one year, the winston justice six sack game. This coach is too stubborn to get it done.. Hes a good coach but its time to go

How can the Ravens go into the 4th quarter of last nights game with a 3-1 pass/run ratio despite having arguably the best back in football in a game they were leading by more than 10 the entire night???

Its what football is now. Get used to it.

shady had 26 touches– the birds ran a bizzilion plays– it was a function of playing a terrible team. the only other way would have been to get 15 touches by the rooks… Red wasn’t going to do that with the game so close.

Boys, relax, it’s just a game.

I don’t like Vick as a QB, and Reid is a disaster.

Baltimore is a for real physical football team, so we shall see what’s up.

Peace to you and have a shot and a couple beers.
