Jason Peters Practices And Plans To Go Against Jags

JasonPeters15it was good to see big number 71, Jason Peters working out with the first team today at the Lincoln Financial Field.  The big fella talked to the media afterward and it was all positives.

“I felt great,” Peters said, “I could have played last week, but I’m just trying to make sure. I don’t want to reinjure it then go into the season with it tweaked up. So I’m 100 percent ready to go.”

The health of Peters is a major key for the Birds.  They want him healthy, rested and ready to go when the season starts.  He won’t play in the final game of the preseason, so he’ll have to play next Saturday or he won’t see action until the first game of the season against the Washington Redskins.

“Yeah I’m suiting up this week,” Peters said. “I’m going to go out there and get myself some good work against Jacksonville and get ready for Washington.

“I’m going to be excited. I’m going to get out there and try to keep myself calm against Jacksonville and get some good work in.”

Good to hear about,
I do believe that the solid Play of LT Alan Barbre in Peter’s absence has been one of Camps nicest surprises and best story’s.. Everyone remembers the disaster of last years Camp and season with
Demetress Bell/King Dunlap trying to play LT
I also believe that Barbre’s good play has woken up Peter’s a little bit that he better get some snaps in.. I love how Peters Play’s , but there is something about his “I do my own thing” kind of attitude that does concern me a bit, and do believe that it rubs some Teammates and his new Coaches the wrong way a little bit.. Obviously, when Healthy, Jason Peters is a Top 3 LT in all of Football and possibly even the overall Best, but his somewhat cavalier attitude, his $15 Million per Season Salary and injuries have to concern Chip Kelly a little bit..
He should be primed for a monster season in Kelly’s fast paced Tempo where he will beat down his opponent over a course of the game..
Bit it was nice to see Barbre step up and play well in his absence and especially with Dennis Kelly out all Preseason too..

The reason you do not keep coaches around for more than 5 years is that they develop blind spots and recycle old assistant coaches (mudd, washburn ect) out of loyalty vs out of a desire to develop a young hungry guy.

New coaches bring new assistants which help get new assessments of players so you do not end up with an O-line that is kiddie pool deep.

I agree Regal
****More NFL Injuries*****
Dolphins TE D Keller carted off field with an apparent Torn ACL in Right Knee
And will undergoe a MRI Sunday to determine the extent of Injury
It appears Dolphins are now in need of a TE and really have no proven TE on Roster.. (Brent Celek would be a nice fit since Coach Philbin runs a similar System terminology and formation wise that the Coach AR did from the Packer Days..
Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert leaved with Sprained Thumb and could be out a couple weeks leaving door open for Chad Henne to Become the Starter
Chargers WR Eddie Royal sustains a injury

A healthy peters is welcome news for shady and the offence. However the defence needs to get better…in a hurry.

Oakland is in desperate need for a LT. If the Eagles are that high on Barbre and Lane call Oakland and tell them Peters for your #1 pick next year. lol

The Dolphins in big need of a “TE” after losing
Dustin Keller (Maybe get a 4th Rounder for Celek)
And Browns lost Vack-up RB Dion Lewis
(Maybe get a 6th/7th Rounder for Felix Jones)
This is how you stockpile Draft Picks,
Find Teams with injuries and needs and trade Players who
You have in Positions of Strength
Could probably get a 1st & 3rd Rounder for Raiders which will be a Top
5 Pick in 2014 and possibly be in position to get DE Clowney
Or a Fture QB if Vick plays poorly..

I think Celek & Felix Jones could leave Tomorrow and this does not impact Team much at all.. TE’s u still Etz, Casey & Harbor and maybe Igwenabi makes it as FB..
At RB, it’s McCoy, Brown & Polk
Felix Jones is not making the 53 Man Roster

You wait too long, Teams start grabbing Players for free off the waiver-wire

What makes you think Oakland would be willing to trade such a high pick for an old OT coming off a serious injury? If you were Oakland, would you make that trade? Also, Why trade for Felix Jones when he will be cut in the next few weeks?

On Felix Jones,
Some Team that has a big need at RB (like the Browns,Jets, possibly the Texans with Arian Foster still hurting,Chargers) may want to get in a Player now who still has time to learn their System and can help these Teams sooner rather than later so instead of waiting another 2-3 weeks when the final cuts come a week before the Season starts, may not hav etime on their side to wait to late September before a new Player can know their System

On why the Raiders could make a Deal, is because they are the Raiders and have a habit of making poor Player Acquisitions..

Great news if we can keep Peters healthy all year. I am really interested in seeing what this line will be able to do with the Kelly uptempo game’s.

Ultimately, I see Lane Johnson moving to LT once Peter’s play drops off (hopefully not for a few years). Moving on from the “Mudd” years with this offensive line will be a good thing. The biggest disappointment is still Watkin’s and his inability to even get close to being a contributor on this team. What a waste.

***Browns acquire O-Guard J Mofitt from Seattle Seahawks
Since both Of their Starters went down last weekend, for a DL

See Teams that have needs have to make a move
Eagles should be talking to Dolphins about Trading TE Brentt Celek
