Fantasy Football Week 2 Advice

Tom BradyWeek 2 Advice

Don’t panic if you are an owner of Spiller, Trent Richardson, Lynch, Hilton, Decker and the plenty of names not listed as a “no-show” or complete disappointments after week 1.  The first few weeks of both the regular season and in fantasy football are very hard to make sense with how a player will project for the rest of the season.  Easy with your trade proposals, but take the time to view the waiver wire, plenty of names that could upgrade your current roster.

Jets- This is nothing against Jets fans or being disrespectful to the team.  I truly can’t see any player being “starter” worthy at this time.  Ivory was the first player drafted from the Jets in FF leagues, but with Geno as the Qb, Powell also in the mix, expectations are really poor for what the former Saint can do.  Winslow is a #2 TE at best, and the receivers should be bench players until further notice.

Patriots- Ridley who was benched has something to prove and will have the opportunity with Vereen on the IR list.  The Jets had a respectable run defense performance versus the Bucs last week, but I see Ridley able to pound his way for 85 yards and a score.  Brady will have a younger and less experienced receiving core, as Amendola is out for the game.  Edleman will man the slot, and after a 2 td performance last week, could be used as a definite flex option this week.  Thompkins who lit it up in the pre-season looked like a rookie last week in Buffalo; but could see a reasonable game of 6 catches for 70 yards and a TD with all eyes on Edleman.  Brady remains a must start, as he is a different player at home, and it’s still Tom Brady.

Richardson/Spiller combo killed me last week, I have them both on half my leagues and at least 1 on both. I agree it’s way too early to give up on them, especially with the weirdness that was week 1 when it comes to RBs.

The only Jet worth considering would be Winslow, but I agree that even he is borderline worth starting at best. He needs to show up for another week before he can be looked at as a viable option. I will say this though, he’s going to have a chip on his shoulder going up against NE after they cut him loose.

I love Edelman this week. Belicheck and Brady both love this guy. Then you factor in no Amendola and Thompkins just playing horrible against the Bills and will get Cromartie for the majority of this game. Ridley still in the dog house, I think Brady is going to chuck it a lot this week and Edelman is going to be his first option.

Good stuff, and hopefully everyone’s fantasy team gets the ball rolling tonight.
