Yes Patrik411, I am very familiar with Beau Allen out of Wisconsin. In Fact, I called for the Eagles to Draft him in the 6th/7th Round and thought he would make a Solid Contribution to the 53 Man Squad and stated numerous times that he would quickly become a “Fan Favorite” for his Blue Collar Attitude & Work Ethic & approachable personality… It looks like I hit a homer on this one, but more importantly, the Eagles got a Very Good Player who will fill the role of a Run-Stopper in Short-Yardage/Red-Zone Situations as well as spell Benny Logan to help keep the DT’s fresh

I expect Vick will will play the 1st Half for Jets, with 3rd/4th QB playing the 3rd/4th Quarters for them.. Vick needs the Reps

For the Eagles Matt Barkley probably plays well into the 3rd Quarter with Kinnie playing the 4th

The Mike Vick effect. from ESPN NY

— Michael Vick was talking about his greatest achievement as an NFL quarterback, and it had nothing to do with the time he beat Brett Favre in a playoff game at Lambeau Field. This was about saving a rookie coach’s team and a wide receiver’s career in the early hours of training camp, and it was all right there in black and white.
Vick was sitting on a bench inside the New York Jets’ practice facility two days before his return to Philadelphia for Thursday night’s cameo preseason start, and he was recalling the moment he first heard last summer that something was up. He was walking from a meeting back to the Eagles’ locker room when a teammate asked if he had seen the video that was starting to go viral on the Web, the sights and sounds of a man fueled by anger and alcohol, Riley Cooper saying what he said about that African-American security guard at that Kenny Chesney concert.
“And when I’d seen it I didn’t believe it,” Vick told ESPNNewYork.com. “I couldn’t even see him fixing his face to say that because I’d known him for three years.”
But it was true, all true. Despite the fact that the vast majority of his colleagues are black, Cooper used the N-word to describe the guard and other African-Americans at the concert he was threatening to fight, dropping an ungodly mess in the lap of the team leader who would handle it with the same dignity and grace that the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, Doc Rivers, showed in managing the Donald Sterling crisis the following spring. Only Rivers was a 52-year-old authority figure with a long history of right-minded leadership. Vick? He was a 33-year-old quarterback coming off a 3-7 season as a starter and, of course, he wasn’t that far removed from serving 19 months in federal prison for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.

“I just felt like I was the most capable guy on that team of taking a stand for Riley, and being a voice for him at that time,” Vick said. Without taking that stand and being that voice, Vick maintained, the video of Cooper’s racial slur “was going to derail our team. Unfortunately, it was going to derail Riley’s career. It would have ended his career.”
And so an established black star did a remarkable thing for a marginal white player whose production (an average of 15.3 receptions and 226.3 yards per year over his first three seasons) suggested he wasn’t worth the trouble. Vick said he needed about an hour after learning of Cooper’s slur to decide how to respond, and what he would say to younger black teammates who grew up idolizing him as the face of the Atlanta Falcons and the force behind dynamic change at the quarterback position in the NFL.After Cooper apologized to teammates who weren’t in the mood to hear it, rookie coach Chip Kelly addressed his players about a problem he couldn’t attack with X’s and O’s. Kelly asked the Eagles if any of them wanted to speak; Cooper wasn’t in the room.

“Nobody had anything to say,” Vick recalled. “Everybody had kind of a dumbfounded look on their faces. … I just felt like something needed to be said at that point, and Chip kind of gave me a look like, ‘Mike, come on. Give me something.'”
So Mike gave him something even though Vick’s brother, Marcus, had tweeted the offer of $1,000 for the first safety who flattened Cooper (Marcus would delete the tweet), and even though LeSean McCoy would say he’d lost respect for the receiver. The quarterback who once asked millions of fans for forgiveness over his crime of cruelty was asking dozens of players to forgive Cooper for his show of ignorance and hate.
As for the Eagles who couldn’t find room in their hearts for forgiveness, Vick was asking them to respect the needs of a football team that couldn’t survive a compound fracture along racial lines.”They might not have forgotten about it, but they forgave him,” Vick said. “We had guys talking about knocking him out, taking his head off, doing X, Y and Z to him on the field, and none of that happened, out of respect for myself, I think.

“What people of my race understood was that I was trying to protect one of my brothers. I was trying to protect a teammate, a friend, and at the same time letting them know that, ‘Listen, there’s education behind this. This can be taken as an opportunity to educate so many people around the world to never let this happen to you. Change the language. Use a different word … because you never know who’s watching or who’s listening. So don’t offend anybody.'”

Vick said that he grew up in a culture allowing for liberal use of the N-word among African-Americans, and that he has occasionally slipped and used it in casual conversation with black friends. He’s trying to eliminate the word altogether. He’s not a perfect man or quarterback, but he’s come a long, long way.

Now he’s showing the same professionalism behind Jets starter Geno Smith that he showed behind Foles; Eagles coaches and front-office officials thanked him profusely for the way he conducted himself last year as a second-stringer. But it was after Cooper’s vile slur went public that Vick showed as much leadership as any NFL quarterback has shown in any setting. Ever.

“It’s the best thing I’ve done as a professional athlete, absolutely,” Vick said. “I handled it so my team could move forward, and I handled it so people could forget about it and not look at Riley a certain kind of way. I changed the whole dynamic of that situation, and that was a proud moment for me. … I was able to save a young man’s career, and that young man went on to have the greatest year of his career and get a contract that he probably never imagined he would get.”

No, Vick doesn’t want any finder’s fee for that contract. The quarterback just wants to know that his scrambling, under intense fire, has been fully appreciated.

“I stood in front of the team,” Vick said. “I stood in front of the cameras and defused that whole situation.”
Vick knew there would be a price to pay for assuming the role of Cooper’s human shield.
“Guys were mad at me for a while,” he said of fellow Eagles. “They were upset with me for a day or two, like six or seven guys who were just like, ‘Really, how could you do that?’ And then I’m getting phone calls from people everywhere, and my Twitter page is kind of in an uproar. But I took that stand for him, man, and I just hope at the end of the day that he appreciates that.”I just hope he’s [appreciative] of my boldness to step out in front of the world and say what I said, and he appreciates what I did and understands the magnitude of it, because nobody else was going to step up and say anything. I could’ve said the same thing that 25 of my teammates were saying, and there was built-up anger.”

Cooper did immediately text Vick a message of thanks for his support in the meeting room and in the news media. But after he told reporters “it was easy to forgive” Cooper, Vick wondered if something changed.

The receiver ended up having a breakthrough season, finishing with 47 receptions for 835 yards and 8 touchdowns and landing a five-year, $25 million deal. In fact, Cooper actually outperformed Vick, who lost his starting job to injury and then watched Nick Foles go on a tear and lead Philadelphia to the playoffs. “A couple of things transpired since [the incident] that I dislike, and I’ll be honest with you,” Vick said. “After he signed his contract, I sent him a text and I never got a text back, and that made me feel a certain type of way. But I’m not the type of guy who holds grudges.”

Vick said he told his former teammate he was proud of him in the text that wasn’t returned. When it was suggested to him that any white player in Cooper’s shoes should owe the quarterback an eternal debt of gratitude, Vick said, “I’d have you on speed dial. That’s the only reason I say I hope Riley appreciates that. His life is his life and he played good football last year, and he was always like a little brother to me. But money should never change an individual, and I’m not saying it did that to Riley.”

Vick said he was planning on greeting Cooper warmly Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field, and as it turned out, according to the quarterback’s spokesperson, they ended up talking by phone Wednesday. Chris Shigas said he didn’t know which party placed the call, or what prompted it, or whether Cooper offered an explanation about the unreturned text, or whether the receiver reminded Vick that he did send a congratulatory text after he signed with the Jets.

But the spokesperson said Vick informed him that the call was productive. “They’re all good,” Shigas said.
On Tuesday, Vick recalled the scene of Cooper eating alone in the days after the video’s release, a pariah to black and white teammates both. The quarterback said that without the personal growth he experienced in prison, he wouldn’t have been “competent enough” to handle the toxic Cooper controversy, and that his Eagles needed only two weeks to move past it.

When Vick retires he will be a NFL employee for a long long time as he transitions into almost any role he wants. He will make another 50 million in the leagues front office or on any network football show he desires. My guess is he will eventually catapult himself into some kind of leadership(ambassador role) with troubled players along with being on a network.

Cooper at halftime tonight should go to the 50 yard line, pull down Vicks pants and kiss his black ass and thank him for every penny of that 25 million dollar contract he received because if it wasn’t for Vick he would be a bouncer at a skin head convention right about now. lol

Can someone please enlighten me on the infatuation with James Casey. I have never in my life seen a more invisible player on a offensively oriented offense in my life. Not only has Caseys name not been uttered in one game last year, not one practice, not one OTA, not one training camp rep, not one preseason game, not one special teams play, nothing nada, zilch. Im trying to grasp his strangle hold on Chips object of desire, untouchable love for him. I just don’t get it.

You would read what he said and react that way.

All I hear is a whiny bitch who still hasn’t learned how to Shut the hell up. The guy is the king of sticking his foot in his mouth.

I mean what the fuck is that all about?

“I am so great and special that I alone saved the guy, and now he won’t text me back….waaaahhhhh.”

Look, it may very well be that Vick saved his career…..whatever….you don’t go around self-agrandizing and telling everyone how great/indispensable you are, unless you’re a WWE wrestler.

The guy should try humility (you’d think he’d have learned that by now).

And then, he tops off the “look at me how great I am, not only do I have God given football talent (his normal routine)’ but I am so specially special that I was the only one to save the day…..” with a whole….”but now my feelings are hurt and I am going to whine and moan to a national sports outlet about how I have been disprected and insinuate that $$ changed the guy”

Maybe his friggin phone was off!? Maybe he got 7000 texts that day? Maybe he didn’t hit the send button? Who the fuck knows?

Wait…….MVfoot in my mouth knows. Riley shunned the great peacemaker Vick becaus $$ changed him!

Oh wait….supposedly they’ve now since spoken and everything is cool again.

I am beyond happy that the Eagles now have a QB who I will never, ever hear such shit from ever again.

How many times have you heard luire or Reid state publicly how they saved Vick’s career.

How many times have you heard them spouting off how they were the only ones who could have done that?

You haven’t, because they understand that tooting your own horn, especially on these kinds of issues, makes you sound crass and self-serving.

Helping someone out then announcing totheworld you’re annoyed the guy you helped hasn’t acknowledged your help enough? Just…I dunno….weird.

And don’t get me wrong. Cooper SHOULD be indebted to Vick for Vick’s actions. He should be calling Vick and expressing his gratitude….a lot!

But at the same time, Vick shouldn’t be out there announcing he’s a little upset because he feels he hasn’t been properly acknowledged for the help he gave. That just comes across as crass.

This is the only thing me & you will never agree on. You make excuses for Vick, all of the time. He is, was, & always will be a horrible QB, & a turd of a human being. Did, he do time for his crime? Yes, but lets not aggrandize him as Mr. Holy! Just stop. We finally get rid of this jerkoff, & he has to open his egotistical mouth, to get himself back in the Philly media again. Yes, he’s still considered a Sociopath. Yes we won’t ever agree on him. You have a blind spot for him, for reasons unknown.

Definition: A sociopath-
•Egocentric, getting self-esteem from power, personal gain or pleasure; and/or
•Having a callousness that could be shown by not caring about others’ feelings, having no remorse when actions harm others, being aggressive, or being sadistic.
•Sets goals based on personal gratification, without regard to whether achieving those goals is legal or ethical.
•Lacks empathy – doesn’t care about hurting others.
•Manipulating others, such as pretending to be deeply interested in someone in order to achieve a goal.
•Taking risks that might result in self-damage for no particular reason, even though the consequences could be self-harming; being easily bored and doing thoughtless and risky things to fight boredom; ignoring personal limitations and denying that activities could be dangerous.
All of the above, define the hero of the GCobb posters. Just saying….

DCar…definitely on point.

He deserves no sympathy. He was beyond sadistic in nature with what he was doing.

That shit reminds me of The Wire of the little homie that was killing animals in the alley way then he popped my man at the end of it and turned into a stone cold killer.

Even worse was the fact that he continued to do it even when he got money. He enjoyed the element. Which is even scarier.

I like the man Mike Vick has become over the last few years..
Obviously,he is in a lot better place than 5-6 years…
I commend and respect that fact that he’s grown and matured into
A good Man & teammate, leader and yes, even a Role Model to nany and has shown that a person can change for the better..
I am not going to hammer the guy for what did off the field
6-7-8 years ago.. Clearly he has moved on with his life for the better, and I am sure why so many others can’t seem to do the same.. Good Luck to Mike Vick
As a a Football Fan, I was never a big supporter of his style of Play
Due to a lack on consistency, but personally, I admire the guy for turning his life around…

Has nothing to do with being a dog lover.

It has everything to do with being HUMANE.

Being cruel for no reason other than enjoyment or personal gain is scary and disgusting. Theres a different in euthanizing an animal…compared to wetting a dog down and electrocuting it. Or picking it up an animal and repeatedly slamming it into the ground until it is done.

Yes he made the most of his opportunity/2nd chance was a professional on his return but thats what he had to do and what he should have done in the first place. He doesnt get a pat on the back because he acted like me and you act on an everyday basis. He served his time so I wouldnt protest the guy but thats his cross to bear.

WTF is wrong with you. I don’t get you. You are normally on the ball, about everything else you talk about, except when the topic of Vick comes up. Anyway, at this point the guy is just pure comedy. The way he says something, then immediately tries to backtrack and convince people he never said it/ insinuate it in the first place is so funny.

The fact that some of you don’t recognize his inane double talk is even more amusing.

Here, I’ll point it out for you.
“i sent him a text and I never got a text back, and that made me feel a certain type of way. But I’m not the type of guy who holds grudges.”

Translation: I don’t hold grudges….except here I am moaning to the national media about how I didn’t get a text, so clearly I hold grudges.

” and he was always like a little brother to me. But money should never change an individual, and I’m not saying it did that to Riley.”

Translation: I’m not saying $$ changed the guy….except of course I just said $$ changed the guy.”

Then add in he also announces how delusion ally omnipotent he is!

“. I was able to save a young man’s career, and that young man went on to have the greatest year of his career and get a contract that he probably never imagined he would get.””

Translation: I am so omnipotent, that I know what Cooper was imagining. I knew his dreams…and BTW, but saying this I am Amos, pretty clearly, saying Cooper didn’t deserve it.

And don’t you love how he takes credit for Cooper’s greatest year? That pure fantasy. If Vick had remained QB Cooper would have finished the year with 20 catches for 235 yards! What saved Cooper’s career was a competent QB who actually looked to his secondary option And threw the ball to someone other that Desean every now and again!

Now that I think of it, maybe I am going to miss MV7 more that I thought….such great comedic material….now gone….it’s a sad day……

Vinnie if it wasn’t for Vick there would be no career year the Eagles would have almost probably had to release him, what part of that don’t you understand? His teammates wanted no parts of him. You are ridiculous in your hate for Vick. Like I said before you’d rather have a asshole who alienated damn near the entire locker room than a pro bowl guy who ruffled the coaches feathers. Geez

I will interject the following: Vick is a decent man who began his career as a flipping A.hole..but he is a good man. Good for him! He did in fact save the locker room last year and Riley Cooper.

My biggest head scratcher is this: why do a group of grown men want to kill a stupid, drunk red neck over WORDS, yet down in Baltimore they open their arms and welcome in a WIFE BEATER? They all have mothers, wives, sisters yet no one challenges him in a practice flair up? ‘hey mofo, you can beat on a drunk girl how bout you come at me I’m a man”– i don’t get it.

Cigar, that’s an easy answer that people on this board won’t like but look at how some treat TS on this board, Vinnie and others forget the quick 180 Shady did in regards to Cooper, you know it was because Vick stood up for him and Shady loves Vick, just like Vick was going to fight Cary Williams after that dust up between him and Cooper. After that it all went away, I wonder why?

Ray WAS CONVICTED FOR OBSTRUCTION of JUSTICE!!!

AND this from USA today— real people, lost a loved one, got no justice and you people defend his ass!

Their murders remain unsolved. But as the anniversary of their deaths approaches — and as Lewis dances into the sunset of his NFL career — the victims’ relatives are still seething at him. While Priscilla Lollar says she’s “numb” to Lewis, others want answers. And justice.

“My nephew was brutally beaten and murdered and nobody is paying for it,” Baker’s uncle, Greg Wilson, told USA TODAY Sports. “Everything is so fresh in our mind, it’s just like it happened yesterday. We’ll never forget this.”

Lewis had testified that Oakley, Sweeting and another man had gone to a sporting goods store the previous day to buy knives. Baker’s blood later was found in Lewis’ limo. Having fled the crime scene, Lewis told the limo’s passengers to “keep their mouths shut.” The white suit Lewis was wearing that night — on Super Bowl Sunday — never was found.

TS- there were three men in Rays limo, they had bought big ass knives the day before, after the incident, Ray and the other two got into the limo, leaving behind the victims blood. Rays nice white suit was destroyed (i wonder why?), Ray was charged with murder. When his ass got tight he made a plea (and deal with the friends i presume) to ‘kinda rat’ on them… not telling who of the three killed– so they all got off with leniency because they wouldn’t rat on each other…. if that was a family member of yours i’m sure you wouldn’t defend him so vehemently!

Any time an unarmed person is killed by the police there should be outrage. There are far too many occurrences of this. While I’m personally attracted to people’s hearts and feel we are all the same race and could give a shit about color, hair style, nose rings, tattoo’s, there is a disproportionate amount of black males being murdered by law enforcement. And profiled. And targeted, And arrested for Bullshit. And if people aren’t concerned about the police state this country is turning into, well then just fuck the future of America then. Since when did protect and serve mean putting bullets into unarmed citizens or pummeling them to death like in California.

From barstool

OMG OMG OMG. I saw Vick posted a quote about friendship on IG last year he totallllyyyyy meant for Coop to see that. I wonder if Riley de-friended him on Fbook, too? Cause he like, def should have.
First off, this is the biggest non-story in the history of “journalism”. And I say that as a smut blogger who has more than once posted about Nick Foles’ hammer and how, if uncaged, can Godzilla up and down the East Coast. Should Cooper have returned his text? Absolutely. Vick took a stance that no one else would when the Kenny Chesney story that almost got me fired, again, because our competition got the video first broke. Riley owes Vick A LOT for standing in his corner when he didn’t have to do anything.
That being said, there’s no way Cooper just wouldn’t respond out of being a dick. What do you think he was doing right after he signed his contract? The man just became a multi-millionaire and has truck nuts on his 4×4 for Christ’s sake. Dude was probably on the bender to end all benders and either didn’t see the text or was blacked out. Probably both. I have maybe 6 people that text me on a weekly basis and I still miss some of the messages. Can you imagine what Riley Cooper’s inbox is like? The ‘tang texts alone must get into the hundreds.
I get where Vick is coming from, but he shouldn’t even have mentioned anything in the first place. Next time just pick up the Sweet Valley High book and read the pain away.

The Josh Gordon decision is bullshit. But this one isn’t…

“In a memo sent to the owners today, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced massive new punishments for all NFL personnel—not just players—who commit domestic violence offenses. Offenders will be suspended six games for a first offense, and receive an indefinite ban for a second, with the ability to apply for reinstatement after one year.”

This is from the letter:

“At times, however, and despite our best efforts, we fall short of our goals. We clearly did so in response to a recent incident of domestic violence. We allowed our standards to fall below where they should be and lost an important opportunity to emphasize our strong stance on a critical issue and the effective programs we have in place. My disciplinary decision led the public to question our sincerity, our commitment, and whether we understood the toll that domestic violence inflicts on so many families. I take responsibility both for the decision and for ensuring that our actions in the future properly reflect our values. I didn’t get it right. Simply put, we have to do better. And we will.”

This board gets crazier and crazier by the day.

I am actually going to the game tonight…doubt I will see much in the game, but it will be nice to spend the night with my oldest son.

I think that there are very few roster spots left on the Eagles that tonights game will make any difference. I think these guys will play hard to put something on film for other teams to see.

I also believe that the fans will be pretty respectful and give MV a decent welcome to the Linc. As others have said above, while you can be disappointed by the lack of overall results, IMO MV provided positve leadership on this team and in the community. He obviously needed to find an organization willing to give him a chance when he was released from prison, and the Eagles provided that, but I also believe that MV showed many how to bounce back from adversity and succeed again. MV was always very honest, almost to a fault, when giving interviews and when asked questions. He was honest when he recalled his days in ATL, and he was honest when he recalled the circumstances last year with Cooper. MV had a lot to do with keeping this team together and letting the media circus blow over after only 2 weeks. One comment for MV could have sent that whole thing in the opposite direction, but MV the team leader recognized that, and provided a way for the team to move forward. I respect that.

My last thoughts on MV are one of disappointment that the player was never able to realize his great potential with our team. His injuries and untimely turnovers will always be a part of the regret of “what could have been”….the great tease of 2010 only lead more and more supporters his way. Good luck to MV in the future. I would actually like to see what he could do this year in ST. Louis with the injury to Bradford…I really believe with some of the weapons there he could recapture some of the ’10 magic…or not I guess.

GO BIRDS!!

Covering his ass after a dreadful decision on wife beater rice! He had the nerve to defend the rice decision. Again, I wonder why none of his team mates threatened to kick his pussy ass? Why didn’t they need a team meeting for everyone to stop hating him? Why he doesn’t sit alone in the cafeteria? Why these men embrace a coward who as a well conditioned athlete knocked out the mother of his child? DISGRACE

Rice is t in jail because his wife doesn’t want him there and Lewis and his boys did the ultimate don’t snitch. They destroyed evidence and like a rich man of all colors bought families off and got the best lawyers….I lump them together because I asked the question why men embrace these despicable people who are responsible for heinous crimes yet when a white guy says the word they get so hurt? I think it is terribly misplaced values in a civilized society…. But then again maybe certain parts of our society aren’t that civilized

How you shrug off the racist on your football team is laughable and in my opinion says a lot about you… Yes DV is more serious than what Riley did…But either way you look at it, both actions were wrong by both players. Call Riley out for who/what he is just like your calling out Rice.

Same ol Haveakittykat…….Instead of just saying “Riley used a bad word”…a word that has a hurtful meaning and a word that speaks volume to one’s character…but its just a word, used at the wrong time, right? behind close doors its cool…..

Neither incident is related, nor can they be compared….just call wrong, wrong…bottom line.

Being a racist makes him not a good guy. There are plenty not good guys on teams. Many players do things that make them not a good guy. If you read the whole post I said the word is grotesque … But it just makes him a dick. Guys on teams have kids by multiple women they don’t support, drive drunk and let’s be clear mike Vick wasn’t the only guy involved back at home in criminal activities… These players are bad people just like cooper

Boy they really folded under pressure on thIs one. So if any player has a pending domestic violence charge out there does that mean they are automatically suspended for 6 games? What about that clown on the Panthers? Just deal with each case individually as it happens because guess what now you’ll have some guys being extorted and all kind of nonsense.

cop gets called to house, “my husband beat me’– they take him in and question him, she calms down, realizes that it will cost the family 6 game checks— ‘officer, i was just mad at him. he didn’t hit me really, i fell into a door’–(which is what rice’s wife did)– the way i read this rule the guy still goes for 6— however now before she calls he can say ‘bitch dont call, gonna cost us a million bucks if you call’

That’s been the problem with Gooddell’s extra judicial problem all along. It’s why there is no agreement on HGH. He wants power to make decisions for “conduct” related to any HGH issues, outside of any positive or negative tests.

Think Balco scandal with all lying, money laundering etc. that was going on.

SO DV is tricky – if a conviction doesn’t happen then what? Will they be punished for a plea? A Charge? It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Sexual assault was mentioned too. This is potentially a game changer. 6 games is very stiff. So we will see.

Well that means they’d have to ban the sainted Peton Manning.

Oh and Farve would have had to be banned too.

Wait…no…’cause they just paid folk off. So I guess no conviction.

Which brings me back to my original point – how are these decisions going to be made.

It will be a cluster. And to clarify I guess there is a difference (legally) in assault and rape… I’m not familiar with FAVRE or mannings cases…to me Big Ben sounded like it bordered on rape..and if it’s rape the commish’s jurisdiction will be second to the prisons!

You know what Big? I have a theory. I believe the inside of that elevator paints a picture that even the most ardent upholder of female virtue may have a problem with. it is not totally out of the realm that his then fiance was the clear aggressor and Rice reacted reflexively. Too many people when it comes to domestic violence cheapen it by making it solely a female issue instead of a human issue. I’ve noticed from the very beginning that most men and women could care less whether his fiance bore any responsibility or not. Our laws in regards to violence a gender neutral. It’s people injecting their own personal biases in its application. people being regular laypersons and cops. Sadly, far too many see no moral let alone LEGAL imperative to ask women to refrain from assaulting men. Not saying Ray is a saint. But why should the dialogue start without any thought to if his fiance was assaulting him? The law provides no cover based on gender? Why should it matter if he’s a man? Why can’t it the premise simply be all responsible ADULTS keep their hands to themselves? That’s what Screamin A was saying. And Whoopi showed true feminist freedom and honesty by simply holding women responsible for their actions the same as any man. She was right to defend SAS

Okay this is a must read. Not Ealges related but NFC East related:

“Up in the darkened owner’s suite, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is dancing with Kate Bosworth, a 31-year-old blond actress and model. Their hands clasped, they shuffle their feet along the suite’s top step, giggling when they momentarily go cheek-to-cheek. What Jones may lack in rhythm, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm. Clad in a black cocktail dress, Bosworth sashays with her back to the action. With a lopsided grin, Jones, in a black suit and salmon-colored shirt, peeks over her right shoulder at the oval stage. Standing a few feet away are Tony Romo and Jason Witten, Cowboys veterans who steal sideways glances at this unlikely duo’s jagged two-step. As Strait sings the final stanza, Jones guides Bosworth through a mini-twirl that careens into a hit-and-run half-hug. It all looks innocent — or as innocent as 71-year-old Jones looks doing anything.”

August 29, 2014 12:13 pm

I missed the Draft last evening and ended up with the Auto-Picks and have a horrible Roster…

I had the 5th Spot and here’s what the Computer Selected for me

1st Rd – RB Marshawn Lynch (Seattle & who is on his way out)
2nd Rd – RB DeMarco Murray (Cowboys)
3rd Rd – WR Alshon Jeffrey (Bears)
4th Rd – WR Andre Johnson (Texans – who is going to throw the ball to him)
5th Rd – RB Ryan Matthews (Chargers – are you kidding me!!!
6th Rd – WR M Crabtree (49ers – Wheres my QB!!!)
7th Rd – QB RG3 (Redskins)
8th Rd – TE J Whitten (Cowboys)
9th Rd – WR M COlston (Saints)
10th Rd WR W Welker (Broncos – how many WR’s do I need..Jeez)
11th Rd WR A Boldin (49ers – See above)
12th Rd WR G Jennings (VIkings – See Above)
13th Rd RB M Ingram (Saints)
14th Rd RB L Blount (Steelers)
15th Rd Defense/Special Teams – Cardinals (Was lucky I guess)
16th Rd RB J Stewart (Panthers)
17th Rd Kicker N Novack (Chargers)
18th Rd QB Alex SMith (KC CHiefs)

Is this a terrible line-up or what.. How they the Auto-Picks waited to the 65th Pick to select me a QB is crazy, but I guess this is what I deserce since I missed the Draft so I will have to be very creative, make some moves, trades to field a competitive Team…

D-Jax went 51st to Praying Mathis (6th Rd)
Cam Newton went 48th to Team Bancer (5th Rd)
Ertz went 148th to Team Bancer (15th Rd)

I am not sure how many of the 10 Players in the League were on-live and selected their Own Players and how many were like me and missed the Draft for the Auto-Pick…

Paulman’s Grades to all 32 1st Round Selections after the Preseason
I will be harsh on Grades if a Player is hurt.. I know they can’t help it, but Grades will reflect on what kind of impact the Player will have for their Rookie Season based on their Draft Selections and if they can’t play, then they are contributing Zero and not getting any experience at all Also a Top #5-#10 Pick has Higher Expectations to step in and Play and Contribute sooner than a bottom 10 Pick of the First Round

#1) OLB/LB Jadeveaon Clowney – Texans (B) Has played well per reports
#2) OT Greg Robinson – Rams (D) Conditioning, work ethic questioned
#3) QB Blake Bortles – Jaguars (B) Has progressed nicely, Coach’s happy with progress, maturity and coachable, is more athletic than first thought
#4) WR Sammy Watkins – BIlls (F) Between injuries, just not on the same page as QB Manuel or Coach Marrone, not a good start at all
#5) OLB Khalil Mack – Raiders (D) Overmatched, looks lost and thinking to much, confidence is shaken
#6) OT Jake Matthews – Falcons (D) Overmathced, is not as athletic as OT position requires
#7) WR Mike Evans – TB Bucs (C+) Has picked up steam after a slow start, Coach’s and Reports are that he’s progressing well
#8) CB Justin GIlbert – Browns (D+) Initially struggled, but is rebounding, most likely a 3rd CB Spot behinf Haden & Skrine, possilby the Slot CB
#9) LB Anthony Barr – Vikings (B) Is Adjusting and has shown flashes, Coach’s like his work ethic and desire, needs more technique and experience as a LB and has only played 2 Years at the position
#10) TE Eric Ebron – Lions (C+) After a real slow start with learning playbook and conditioning, has really picked it up the last couple of Weeks and is progressing nicely per Coach’s
#11) OT Taylor Lewan – Titans (B) Has been very good on Outside (OT and inside (Guard) tough and natural leader
#12 WR Odell Beckham – Giants (F) Hasn’t played all Pre-Season and has missed many live practices with pads.. Team and Coach’s are not sure where he is physically and mentally with Playbook for he simply has not gotten on the field and feel he way too far behind to help them anytime early this Season
#13 DT Aaron Donald – Rams (B+) Has been a Stud, better than advertised, stronger than thought, plays bigger than his size, very quick
#14) CB Kyle Fuller – Bears (B) Has played well, has held his own and another tough physical CB in the Bears mold.. Coach’s are very happy with him and he’s learned behind 2 good one’s in Tillman and Jennings
#15) LB Ryan Shazier – Steelers (B+) Has been all over the place and one of the few bright spots in rather dismal summer for the Steelers, Guy just makes Plays
#16) OL Zack Martin – Cowboys (B) Had done very well, quiet, confident, versatile as he’s playing Guard giving the Cowboys 3 1st Round Selections on their OL to go along with LR Tyree Smith and Center T Fredericks to form one of the NFL best Young OL
#17) LB CJ Mosley – Ravens (A) Most Consistent Player thus Far this Summer, has become the Leader of that Raven Defense in a quick time, makes the calls, plays fast and physcial and may be the best all-around athletic ILB that we have seen in a long time…
#18) Safety Calvin Pryor – Jets (C+) Very slow start after early injuries but has picked up the pace and learning the Playbook.. Needs more Game Reps.
#19) OT Juwan James – Dolphins (C) A Position of deep need and a reach here, but James has progressed at RT as the Summer has gone along, good kid, works hard, improving his technique just not quite strong or athletic enough at this point but was thrown out quickly because of need so he’s learning in the fire..
#20) WR Brandin Cooks – Saints (B+) Perfect Fit for Coach Sean Payton and QB D Brees, Kid can flat out fly and is Coachable, Smart, Picking up the Playbook and Competitive. The Coach’s and Teammates love this kid.. Will be a very good one for a long time
#21) Safety Ha Ha Clinton Dix – Packers (C+)
#22) QB Johnny Football – Browns (C)
#23) OLB Dee Ford – Cheifs (C)
#24) CB Darqueze Dennard – Bengals (B)
#25) CB Jason Verrett – Chargers (C)
#26) OLB Marcus Smith – Eagles (C)
#27) Safety Deone Bucannon – Cardinals (B)
#28) WR Kelvin Benjamin – Panthers (B+)
#29) DT Dominique Easley – Patriots (D)
#30) Safety Jimmie Ward – 49ers – (C)
#31) CB Bradley Roby – Broncos – (B+)
#32) QB Tedy Bridgewater – Vikings – (B)

rate Jordan Matthews, Marquez Lee, Cory Latimore and any other WR you can think that were in the GCobb reply section draft discussions as eagle wish list high pick choices ( I think the Birds may have nailed this Jordan Matthews selection) –

Ill be honest about Benjamin, I was not real sure how Benjamin would translate to the NFL Game, and thought he was a bit overhyped but he’s been a real beast thus Far in the Preseason and he typically is going against the best CB on the other Team since the Panthers have no real outside weapons to speak of… He has made plays versus Veterans like Darrell Rivas, Ike Taylor, Sean Smith, S Gilmore so he’s been making plays against good Players
What has surprised me about K Benjamin is his Route RUniing and his ability to cut up the field in a step and has that big body that’s hard for DB to bring down in a 1 on 1 tackling situation and he’s faster than I thought, but he came into Camp in Great Shape, Focused and is already a Fan Favorite already for his likeable personality.. He’s gotten off to a great start as a Panther and NFL Player in my opinion and will probably be in the running of Offensive Rookie of the Year for he will put up some numbers this Season
