The Eagles Own The NFC East

NickFoles1I can’t guarantee that the Eagles will be a better football team this year than they were a year ago, because the injury factor was so kind to them in the 2013 season, there’s no surety that it will be the same in 2014.  I do feel confident about them winning the division.  I think the division is so bad that 9-7 will be good enough to win it and this Eagles team is at least that good.  The rest of the NFC East is garbage.

The other teams are really bad on the offensive line, so they can’t protect their respective quarterbacks.  The Eagles might have the best offensive line in football, if they can stay healthy.  They’re getting a little long in the tooth with Jason Peters – 32 years old, Evan Mathis – 32 years old, and Todd Herremans – 31 years old.  They’re fairly young in the other two spots with Jason Kelce – 26 years old, and Allen Barbre – 30 years old, subbing for Lane Johnson – 24 years old in the first four games.

They will be able to run the football with LeSean McCoy leading the league in rushing and Nick Foles will have the time he needs to throw it accurately.  That equals points on the scoreboard, which should also equal NFC East title.

Did you get the chance to see how bad the New York Giants offense looked during the preseason?  Giants quarterback Eli Manning was getting pounded behind the poor offensive line.  Manning will throw the ball up for grabs if he’s not getting decent pass blocking.  I don’t know if he is going to be able to survive the season behind this pathetic group of offensive linemen.  The Giants are a below .500 team this year.  They are mediocre on both sides of the football.

The Dallas Cowboys offense is the strength of the football team, but there’s still a major question mark hanging over it.  Quarterback Tony Romo had a back operation during the off-season and it’s not a definite that he will be able to throw the ball like he has in the past.  Wide receiver Dez Bryant is one of the best in the game and he will be trouble if somebody can get him the ball.  Romo may not be able to do it because the Cowboys offensive line isn’t anything to write home about.

Despite that major question mark at quarterback, the Cowboys offense is much better than its defense. The Dallas defense may be one of the worse defenses in the history of NFL football. They were the most scored upon defense in the league a year ago and they may be poorer this time around.  Like the Giants this is a below .500 team.

The only other team in the NFC East that has a chance at the title is the Redskins because they do have talent.  The combination of wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, running back Alfred Morris and tight end Jordan Reed, should be enough to carry an offense, but they’ve got a problem at the quarterback position in Robert Griffin III.  He just hasn’t gotten better as a decision-maker and that is the key to playing the quarterback position in the NFL.

I heard that he thinks he knows everything he needs to know about the quarterback position and that makes him uncoachable.  Notice how he has gotten worse as a quarterback rather than better.

In his rookie year, he lived off the running game and only threw the ball 20 times a game and most of those were play action passes.  Griffin hasn’t shown he can play the quarterback position from the pocket by using his arm and his decision-making ability.   You can’t rely on your legs alone in the NFL as a quarterback.  You must be able to play the position from the pocket and he has shown us he can do that.

He just hasn’t gotten better and his offensive line isn’t anything to write home about.  At this point in their careers, I think Kirk Cousins is a better NFL quarterback than RGIII.  Cousins is a better decision-maker and I think if Griffin were to go down we would find that out.  The only chance Washington will have a chance at the title is if, Griffin is injured or benched.

The Skins have a solid defense with some playmakers, but they won’t be able to carry the team without Griffin and company making it happen offensively.

The bottom-line is that this division is the Eagles.  There’s not another complete team in the division other than the Birds.

It doesn’t matter how good the rest of the division is. It doesn’t work that way in any division they are usually tough games. Last year Dallas was terrible and beat the Eagles and damn near beat them week 17 with a terrible defense(which curiously) always looked alot better vs the Eagles. By that logic with Dallas having one of the worst defenses in NFL history you would of thunk the Eagles would have dropped 60 on them every time they played. But guess what it sure didn’t work that way. The Giants defense gave us fits and for years have been decided late. Just like Seattle rolled vs everyone else but that shit didn’t happen vs the lowly Rams. The Rams weren’t scared of Seattle because they are familiar with them. Like it or not but division games are usually tough games in any division no matter what the talent gap is between teams. So to think that every team in the division is going to roll up in the fetal position when they play the Eagles you willget punched in the mouth. I predict 4-2 or possibly 5-1 in the division if things break right.

I have read over 2,000 posts here from at least half the people over the last year that have led me to believe ….
Desean plus RG3 equals Superbowl — bwahahahahahahahahahaha —
these people were fighting tooth to nail trying to convince me that if the eagles had a combination like RG3( running QB) with DJax ( has to be triple teamed everyone else is open) the eagles could go from last to first.
