Thursday Night Football Pick

Aaron RodgersGreen Bay @ Seattle

The season kicks off the way the Super Bowl ended with a matchup that on paper puts great defense against great offense in a possible preview on a playoff game within the NFC later this year.

The Seahawks are just damn near unbeatable at home. Their defense is just so overpowering, that even an elite quarterback like Aaron Rodgers and all of his weapons are going to have trouble moving the ball against them.

Seattle might not have a lot of talent at the receiver position outside of Percy Harvin, but Russell Wilson knows how to be efficient and win in this league, and Green Bay’s defense is going to struggle to contain Marshawn Lynch without the services of nose tackle B.J. Raji.

I think the Seattle defense lives up to its billing, and the offense does just enough to come through with a win.

Pick: Seattle 23, Green Bay 17

great matchup tonight!
Seattle’s defense was so big and fast in the Super Bowl. Demaryius Thomas was the only player on the Broncos that I thought talent wise belonged on the field with that Seahawk defense. Until I see someone stand up to that speed and power I won’t pick against the seahawks.
