Eagles Must Run The Football Against Seahawks

Philadelphia Eagles v Dallas CowboysThe Eagles are going to be playing the most physical football team they’ve played all year, when they take on the Seahawks this Sunday.  I’m eager to see if they can use their speed and endurance to tire out the best defense in the National Football League.

The remainder of the Eagles season rests on the success or failure of the Birds running game.  This will be especially true on Sunday afternoon against the Seattle Seahawks and the outstanding secondary of the defending Super Bowl champs.

Chip Kelly didn’t mince words as he talked about the Seahawks secondary.  “They’ve got really, really good players and Pete puts them in position to make plays,” Kelly said. “It will be the best secondary that we play.”  I doubt that Kelly wants to have Mark Sánchez throwing the ball over 25 times in Sunday’s game against that outstanding secondary.

“He’s got 23 picks since 2011 – eight more than any other player in the league – and there’s a reason for that. He’s a smart player, he’s an intelligent player,” Kelly said about Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman. “He’s big, he’s physical, and he’s got great ball skills.”

He went on to declare that Sherman’s teammate Earl Thomas is the best safety in the league.  The Birds are likely to put the ball on the ground and throw those quick screens to take care of the football.

There’s no way Kelly wants to give Sherman and Thomas a chance to make a play, which could cost the Birds the game.  I could see them running some of the quick screens at Sherman because most of the corners don’t like offensive tackles getting a running start at them.  Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson does a good job of blocking cornerbacks out in space, so expect to see Johnson getting a shot at Sherman.

Just in the nick of time, the Eagles offensive line seems to be back at full strength.  A week ago against the Cowboys, they dominated and created huge holes for LeSean McCoy to explode through.   The Pro Bowl running back ran for 159 yards on 25 carries and it allowed Sánchez to throw the ball with little pass rush pressure on him. Can they do that again against the number one defense in the National Football League?  We’re going to find out because Kelly has no choice but to put this game on the backs of his offensive line, which is probably the Eagles greatest asset.

Again, I’m very interested in seeing if the pace of the Eagles offense will tire out the Seahawks.  The key to being successful in tiring them out will be converting third-downs.  Kelly will need to put together a great game plan like he did against the Cowboys.  The Birds will need to attack this Seahawks defense with quick-hitting runs and passes, which utilizes  misdirection to take advantage of Seattle’s speed. Kelly is one of the best I’ve ever seen, when it comes to utilizing the entire width of the field to get his playmakers in open space.

The Seahawks are one of the best pursuit defenses in the league.  Kelly is likely to try to get them running one way and then slip a receiver or ball carrier with the football coming back the other way.  When dealing with a speedy, pursuing crew like the Seahawks, MISDIRECTION is the name of the game.

They’re going to need to get Darren Sproles matched up against the Seattle linebackers. There’s not a linebacker in the league, who can cover Sproles.  I expect to see Sproles and McCoy on the field at the same time.  Spreading Sproles out at a wide receiver position with McCoy in the backfield will weaken the Seahawks run defense.  They can’t focus on both of these weapons with them on the field at the same time.

I also expect the Birds to get backup tight end  Zach Ertz matched up against the Seattle linebackers and safeties.  I could see them going to four wide outs at times and attacking the Seahawks third and fourth cornerbacks with Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff.. The key to Kelly’s plan will be dependent upon the Birds being able to run the football effectively and they run the ball best when going to their left behind left tackle Jason Peters, left guard Evan Mathis and center Jason Kelce.

I want the Eagles to run a very simple run-oriented offence. If Dallas loses at Chicago Thursday, then even more so.

Chip Kelly has to keep an eye on the future here. Distinct possibility they’ll see the Hawks again and they don’t want to tip their hand. In fact they’ll want to do the exact opposite. Do one thing in this game (run run run) and then something different in the second matchup. Pass pass pass.

Same strategy on D. Very limited blitz packages. Reveal nothing.

With this in mind, its pretty great that it has been Sanchez in vs GB and Seattle. 2 contenders. Kelly has no faith in Sanchez throwing the ball, so its been a run-oriented attack. This really bodes well for his ability to surprise either team with a very different offenseive look when the starting QB returns.

Eagles Play to Win and Beat the Seahawks this Week as they should . Chip Kelly will worry about Post-Season Match-Ups when it get’s here .. They Will Run and They Will Pass and Yes, QB Sanchez, just like every other QB will have to play a smart game and make Plays for the Eagles to Win just like every other QB in the NFL … You play with who you have and you play to Win, let the worrying about the Future Match-ups, “Coulda,Shoulda,Woulda Crap to us Talking Heads ..

I didn’t say you don’t play to win. I say you still set up the postseason by doing the opposite (as much as possible) now.

Running 65% of the time now seems like a good idea. Especially when the QB can’t throw over 15 yards. Just like Dallas game…tons of runs and short passes….then when the playoffs come….flip it..

The Belicheck way.

The improved QB play gives us a better shot against Seattle. The defense is going to keep us in the game…much like they did against San Francisco. What we need is the solid QB play that we didnt get in that SF game!
Sanchez doesn’t have to be a hero…he just has to avoid pulling a Foles on us. Make the plays that are there, hit the tight end, step up confidently in the pocket and hit receivers when they are open.
Again…just dont pull a Foles on us!
This will put Shady and the run game in good position to take over the game like they did against Dallas.

Can this sockpuppet write a single thing without putting down Foles? You would think that since he isn’t playing and is injured that he might have less negative shit to throw out here, but nope…never stops lol. It has been what…4 games since he was injured and still this loser will continue to bring him up. We all know how much of a slurper he was / is for Vick, he must have lost his mind when the guy lost his starting job. Really pathetic if I actually thought he meant any of it…silly sockpuppet.

Sanchez played very good against Dallas, great win, but, the Dallas defense is not good. We need Sanchez to play within himself and simply not turn the ball over. 5 passes during the second half against the cowboys…easy peasy. Just manage the game and let the running game take over the game with misdirection and up-tempo pacing. This is the real test, Sanchez quarterbacking against a high caliber defense. His only test is to keep the ball from the Seattle defense, some check down throws and we should be good. The defense is playing very well and will be key to a victory over the Seahawks.
Hey Tahj Boyd, what is taking you so long on your QB analysis of a college QB you want the Eagles to draft….it’s just an analysis….not a PHD dissertation.

So now the ‘test’ for Sanchez is to do what Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers failed to do!

Oh and Tahj Boyd, tell me one thing I stated about what Sanchez needs to do that is not true…answer the ?, don’t run away from it. Yes, I am slurping Foles so much I am suggesting the Eagles bring in RG3 next year to challenge Foles, and if neither one pans out I am saying go all in and Draft QB Jared Goff from Cal in 2016. Once again, I laid a plan out, you…Tahj Boyd have repeatedly failed to do so…you just dick ride any scrambling QB that comes along..ala Cam, Kap, RG3, now Sanchez whom you stated you did not like at all when he was signed. I also think that Kelly will line up Sproles outside quite a bit at WR to drag Safety Earl Thomas out there with him and then look to expose Cam Chancellor in the Middle of the Field with the TE’s or Run the Ball up the Gut with one of the Seahawk Safety’s out wide worrying about Sproles

Dan Uggla is no Nick Markakis. Who is a complete
Big Leagur Player.. Maybe lacks great Speed,
But is a natural baseball Player similar to
Chase Utley..
I never cared much for Uggla, but he killed the Phils over the Years
Markakis is 31 and has a good 3-4-5 Years ahead of him and I believe he’s from the Georgia area..
There’s been lots of Activity around MLB so far
Trades (Donaldson to Blue Jays)
Hayward to Cardinals, etc…Free-Agents
Signings.. (Cruz,Martin,Sandoval,Ramirez)
Phils & Amaro’s hands are tied which may end up being a real slow off-season for the Phils this Year…

All I ever said was true about the guy, is that he murfered Phils Pitching ever since his early years with the Marlins and his first few Years
With the Braves.. A Career .230 Hitter with 180 K’s a Year
And batted .350 with huge HR’s at CBP over the Years
The Phils already have a good 2B in Utley
Where would Uggla even Play..

Wilson will play his usual game and limit turnovers, but it is much more important that we stop Lynch. We showed we could do it against Murray last week, and the Cowboys have a much better recieving corp that we had to contend with, along with a very good TE. Stopping Lynch will be the key. Wilson is a good QB no doubt, but I do not see him beating us without a strong running game from Lynch.

How hard is it to analyze – I want Mark Sanchez to play lights out – I wanted Foles to as well but he is hurt. We need Foles back because as Chip Kelly states – you need two starting quality QBs in this league. Chip Kelly forgot more about how to coach a QB last week then any part-timer blogger will ever know –

but the stooges have managed to do something that is rare – they have managed to make such asses out of themselves that people don’t want Sanchez to do that well (they still want the Eagles to win mind you), just so his drivel will stop. For all three its like they are trying to compensate for their microphallus –

Too funny really…and too pathetic to pay it much attention. We have a division leading team that is 9-3, we are playing the defending SB Champs this week…and this fool is wasting all of this time bashing an injured QB who will likely not play for at least 3 more weeks…..SMH….so pathetic that I have to believe that he is being paid to stir controversy on the site, because otherwise we should find his home address and have mental health officials put him in observation….silly sockpuppet, you don’t have anyone fooled.

koolbreeze

Of course you like that ‘logic’…especially since it is flawed and stupid
Casey Matthews has 5 tackles in the last 3 games..in Demeco Ryans last 3 games he had 15 tackles. So if Demeco was coming back there would be no question about him getting the start over Matthews!
As to Sanchez/Foles comparisons- Under Sanchez, the offense has put up 29 or more points four times out of five. Foles only did that twice this year.
Sanchez beats Foles out in every category-his completion percentage is higher, his accuracy is better, he has been better in the red zone than Foles., the offense is more productive under Sanchez.
Produce the numbers Vinnie…you got em!
Foles was the beneficiary of 7 non-offensive touchdowns…an astounding number that has bailed us out…and he was the least sacked QB in the league, so the offensive line woes are no excuse when you are protected. Film study showed that his nervousness about stepping up into the pocket caused a good number of his sacks, poor throws, and interceptions.
So the accurate facts that I use to endorse Sanchez over Foles cant be applied to Matthews and Ryans….
We upgraded the production of the offensive by putting Sanchez in there! The defensive production from Matthews has decreased where the offensive production from Sanchez has increased!
Logic dictates that if Ryans could return he would get his job back…in the case of Foles..his replacement is doing a better job!

The last 3 games the offence is running at 30% Redzone TDs. Foles was 47%

Eagles had 7 non-offensive TDs in 7 games with Foles. They have 3 in 4 games with Sanchez. What the fuck is your point?

The only point is two-fold.

1 – You are an idiot

2 – Everything you say is wrong.

Everyone wants Sanchez to do well….for some stupid reason you continue to idolize the guy while hating the other.

Sanchez has gone up and won against Tenny, Carolina, Dallas…3 of the worst Ds in the league…no F-ing kidding the O has done well. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 6 tds against Tenny.

What did your hero do? Oh ya…1td and 2 ints…..despite playing 3 “we quit” defenses, and despite only throwing about 25x a game…your new hero has still has thrown 6 ints and fumbled however many times…6 I think? And this with the Oline back and Shady getting his groove.

You put Sanchez in to start the season and I guarantee the Eagles would have been 2-6, not 6-2.

Oh….and The one good D he faced? Game was over before it started because your new hero quit.

Get over your completely bullshit man love for a guy who everyone on the planet….save you….knows is a limited guy.

Chip Kelly is forcing teams to play Nickle defense as their Base defense from the start since he is keeping Jordan Matthews on the field most of the game and getting 100 yards and a TD from Matthews every game. So NFL Defenses get smaller to combat Matthews with a CB which exposes them to Shady and their OL in quick 15 second play clock runs. Chip Kelly has this offense purring with Matthews as the feature pass option.

My biggest wonder is who will be “up” for the game.

For each team the game is sandwiched between much more important divisional match-ups. And in both cases, home-and-home divisional match-ups.

Both team can technically “afford” to lose, knowing they have more important divisional games coming up.

Seattle have SF and Ariz next and of course the Eagles have Dall, Wsh and NYG.

History (this season) has caught the Seahawks looking ahead a couple times. They were “flat” against Dallas before a divisional game vs Stl, and they came out”flat” again\ against KC just before their matchups with Ariz and SF.

The Birds also came out “flat” in game 1 the week before the big Monday nighter vs Indy….but perhaps more troubling is how the Eagles have reacted to “Big” wins.

Big emotional divisional comeback vs Washington was followed by the no-show (offensively anyway) in SF…and the big Monday night Blowout vs Carolina was followed by the “we don’t want to be there” game against GB.

Will the same happen after the big humiliation of Dallas on Thanksgiving?

My feeling is it will be Seattle who starts this gaem out slowly. If the game had been at 1, I’d have felt even better about this. The Eagles have a chance, if they get an early lead, to have Seattle mentally packing their bags at halftime.

What I am worried about most? Eagles have played 2 good QBs this year: Luck and Rogers. And both basically did what they wanted to throwing 6tds to 1 int.

Is Wilson a “good” QB??

paulman
paulman
December 4, 2014 2:34 pm

Both Teams will be “UP” for the Game
Seahawks have a lot to play for as well as they are about to catch the Cardinals and are trying to secure a Division Title as they Defend their Super Bowl Championship from last year.. The Fog or Hangover that they displayed the first 4-5 Weeks of the Season is long-gone.. They cut the chord with Cancer Percy Harvin, went thru some issues with RB Lynch, etc, etc, but they are a Hungry Team that wants to Prove they can play in Hostile Environments on the Road and Beat Quality Teams just like the Eagles want to achieve….
Both Coach’s know each other very well and are extremely competitive people so make no mistake about it, both these Teams from their Coach’s & Players really want to Win this Game and probably have had this Game Circled since the Schedule came out…

greenfan

December 4, 2014 3:00 pm

The Birds have won 10 straight games at home…they are coming off a stomping of a division rival…the game is at 4:15 so the fans will be extra lubricated and loud…the place will be rocking…I don’t see how the Eagles will not be up for this game.

Likewise, it is now December and the Seahawks are the defending SB champs. They should know that it is time to get serious, and with that defense they will always be in the game, but there is also some history with SB teams failing to make the playoffs the following year.

This should be a good game between (2) strong teams, but truthfully in the NFL today you never really KNOW what is going to happen from week to week. I know that I was suprised with the Birds play at Green Bay…and with the Bronco / Rams game….most every week you can see games that have results that very few would have predicted…therefore I am staying away from predictions and I am looking more to see where this team is at this point in the season against a very good team. The results should tell everyone a lot.

Seattle has 2 big corners Sherman and Maxwell but their 3rd corner is a little guy. Marus Burley is 5’10” & 185 lbs from University of Delaware. Cam Chancellor is not fast healthy and he is banged up. There are plays to be made against Burley and Chancellor. Last week San Fran’s trio of wideouts didn’t have the speed of Maclin, Matthews and Cooper. Matthews is a matchup nightmare for Burley.

greenfan

December 4, 2014 1:10 pm

I agree about the speed. Odell Beckham was able to make some plays against Sherman with a double move and his speed. I think that Maclin can do similar things, but Matthews is going to be huge in this game I believe.

It still gets back to the running game. We have done better in the past couple weeks, but Houston and Dallas both rank low in run defense, so while I do believe that the OL getting healthy had much to do with it, it is a different story with a top ranked run defense like Seattle. I want to see more of Shady and Sproles on the field at the same time, create more and more mismatches. While they have speed at the linebacker position also, I still believe that Sproles being covered by a LB is trouble for the defense. I also want to see Celek and Ertz on more vertical seam routes early to see how the talented safeties will be playing us.

Congrats to Eagles LB Connor Barwin who was Named NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November… I recall my good friend GMCliff, telling me and us that Connor Barwin is “not all that”… while I stated that Barwin was a very good Free-Agent Signing and be the Best OLB the Eagles have had in Years, and that he would become one of the Leaders and a Fan Favorite in time with his High Energy, Blue Collar style of Playing and his overall Approachability ….

IE – Jason Babin – aberration/bs tenor with the Eagles, will never be consistent

If you notice Paul, my friend, I don’t bring up any of the players you’ve claimed were decent players, but have been failures draft picks, Free agents, nba, etc..

Are you looking for something? Perhaps, more respect as a talent guru or something that has been lost for a few years now?? So childish, and unnecessary

He’s played well this year – tends to disappear against good teams but I’ll say he’s had a good year. But I still feel he should be upgraded – and can.

Speak about all the ones that have stood out for years identified by GMCliff, and relax. They’ll respect you more…… one day…lol

Just pointing out How I thought and stated at the Time of Barwin’s Signing that he would be a very good Pick-up for the Eagles and you were adament about him being simply a mediocre Player and I am here to say that he’s a Good to very-Good Player for all the reasons I’ve listed many times..
In Fact, I had Connor Barwin on the Target List of Free-Agents for the Eagles to pursue leading up to the 2013 Free-Agency and many of you scoffed at the notion
I don’t need nor do I look for any respect from anyone on here Cliff..
I realize that most on GCobb are simply Eagle Fans and don’t necessarily follow what else is happening or care about the rest of the NFL or College Players or Draft’s or Free-Agency which is fine and dandy… To Each their Own…

Bruh if I felt I was wrong I would admit it. As I said to Paul, he having a decent year, but I don’t think much of him as a player.

Mentioning Jason Babin, again, not because of his position, but how the numbers veil his true abilities. Babin had 18 sacks the year before he was cut…….just an aberration to me; He’ll never be consistent, especially against top offenses, when you barely hear his name called.

When I see consistency from him then I’ll admit that but not today bruh..

No trap coming off a humiliating loss. Cowboys know they HAVE to win this game.

God….cheering for Cutler. That’s going to be so depressing…..every time he does his should-shrug eye roll after launching up a 50/50 duck, or when he points angrily at any wr he thinks is lined up 0.33 yards off his designated spot. Good times.

I like the bears tonight to win,
Tony Romo looked worse than Matt Barkley last Thursday. He had no zip on any of his passes, how can his back heal in 7 days? He turtled up against Casey Matthews for a sack last week. If his back is so bad that Cary Williams, Nate Allen and Casey Matthews are feasting on him than Romo is done.

Bears have a chance. They can run it (sometimes). But if they get behind the “Booooooooo”S are going to rain down.

Romo’s back won’t like the cold. And it is December….And Home teams have an advantage on Thursdays….but Dallas has had the extra time off, so that shouldn’t be a factor.

If Romo’s feeling ok, then I don’t know how either D will be able to stop either O. The O/U for this game has to be in the mid-50s.

Chicago has a chance….but Cutler…….

greenfan

December 4, 2014 4:45 pm

I think the cold combined with Romo’s back may be big in this game, but I think his line will do a good job of protecting him. If you will remember all of the praise that Dallas’ offensive line was getting before the Eagles game and then the way that they were just man-handled by our front 7…..I think that actually are a pretty decent line, so I look for them to come out tonight and do a better job against a demoralized Bears team. I hope they don’t, and I will be rooting for Da Bears tonight, but think that the CowGirls are probably going to win.

LMAO…what a hypocrite you are ‘statman’ Vinniedafool!

When stats partially supports your ridiculous claims-you spew them like the Gospel

When stats refutes your wild assertions-you ignore them:

Stats: Sanchez vs Foles:

Record* 4-1 5-2

Comp.% 63.4 59.8

Yards/attempt 8.0 7.0

Touchdown% 4.6 4.2

Passer rating 89.3 81.4

Accuracy% 70.4 68.8

Comp.% under pressure 44.7 39.8

Acc.% throwing deep 38.1 35.6

Sack rate 4.9 2.8

Time in pocket 2.45 2.73

Key figures: Sanchez has less time in the pocket yet more accurate. His sack rate is higher yet his completion percentage is over %60

What does this mean:

1. Vinnie and the Foles crew are fools

2. The Eagles QB play has improved with Foles

3. Sanchez despite having not played a whole year is an upgrade over Foles

4. Sanchez is not a franchise QB but he gives the Eagles a better chance to win than Foles

5. The QB issue for this year is settled for this year…Sanchez is the QB. Next year is another issue.

paulman

From the Stats above I take the Following

1) Sanchez uses less time in Pocket because he is more
Decisive with his Reads & Gets rid of the Ball
Quicker.. (Foles has a tendancy to hold the ball longer)
Then again, Sanchez does not have as strong as an arm
As Foles does and must get the ball out faster to have a better chance
Of getting it downfield than Foles…

All in all, Sanchez is the QB for now for he’s healthy
And playing within the system at a pretty good level
and with the OL more stable, and McCoy back in form and running
More decisive and harder than he was the first 4-5 Games, the entire Offense is working better.. They still need better execution once in the Red-Zone and come away with TD’s than settling on FG’s, regardless of who is at QB

Alright sockpuppet, I will put another penny in your pocket.

With all of the HATE that you have for Foles, you are blinded by what these stats clearly illustrate. You have spent post after post ad nausea telling us how terrible Foles is as a QB, but if you compare these stats what jumps out to me is how close the two are……but we will all agree that this is the worst that Foles has played as an Eagle, but his stats are virtually the same as Sanchez this season……and if it is true that this is Foles worst play, it is also true that looking at Sanchez’s play for the Jets that this year is his best….so what you are telling us is that Sanchez at his best is virtually equal to Foles at his worst….makes sense to focus all of your hate at an injured QB…..I guess it gets you paid sockpuppet, but all I care about is seeing this team win and go far in the playoffs and really the SB…..Kelly will make the ultimate decision, but from your past history sockpuppet, your last hero lost out and you did not handle it well…maybe you should start taking some more serious drugs then you are already taking becuase you lost your mind last time….lol crazy sockpuppet.

Simple as that idiot!

I have repeated it because frankly I find you idiots amusing.

Sanchez has sat out a year has not played yet he comes in and out performs Foles and he has improved the offense.

Sanchez is not a franchise QB…he’s just better than Foles!

We can drop all of the talk about Foles..he failed, got hurt, no big contract and we probably wont see him in Eagles green again…

I’m just trying to help you idiots handle the hurt you feel behind those facts since you are so emotionally invested in Foles rather than the Eagles.

words have variegated meanings?? Really – see if you were not a product of a totally useless public school education (I hope the school itself wasn’t that bad – and clearly no way you passed college English 101) you would now that not only does a word have a definition, it also has an etymology and you would know the etymology of the word variegated – variegate – is Latin (also note invinoveritus is Latin) and it means to make varied in appearance – to diversify – you can not vary the appearance of a word (that is called misspelling) nor can you diversify – you always have to go back to the origin or root of a word to ensure you are using it properly –

as for being the product of an ‘ignorant fuck’ 1) at least I know who my dad is, saves me from having to mail out 6 or 7 cards every father’s day to a bunch of guys you never met – your mom remember all their names or you just call them ‘baby daddy #1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7’ You know Maury Povich has a TV show to help you with that!

We need two starting caliber QBs – we need Sanchez to have another game like he did last week. Efficient, protect the football, smart distribution. we need to keep the seattle D on the field for long drives, nice 5 – 6 -7 yards plays. Not sure the need to argue Foles vs Sanchez – Foles is hurt – Chip is going to play the QB he wants to play when Foles gets back healthy – once you get into next year you have to look at contracts (for those that love Sanchez, if he lights it up, he is going to be worth much more in FA) and salary cap (Maclin, Cox, Kendricks, Foles and/or Sanchez)

So desert – question – what do you think of putting Polk and Sproles both in the backfield at the same time (Polk is a little more straight ahead and heavier) not that Shady won’t et his 20-25 touches

Green ..Invino..I’m on board with two back sets..especially shady and sproles ,as Polk is more a between the tackles guy,and the other two plus adding sanchez ability to read and run are a 3headed monster ..keep Seattle guessing ..that’s the key ..they’ve not yet played an offense as diverse as philly..especially without the 12th man ….I have a very similar opinion Invino, with regards to the qbs …it will play itself out ,and it starts with these next two games ..there are certain teams that sanchez is more suitable ,this is the team he may have the best fit against …stating the obvious ,he needs protect the ball..the one killer against a quality opponent on the road is allowing them to hang around by turning the ball over …

Big game Sunday. IMO its the difference of playing a wildcard or having an actual shot at NFC Championship game.

I don’t care about QBs. If Brad Goebel was winning us games I would be happy with it. I want this W. This W can propel this team and this fanbase with “Super” confidence heading into the playoffs.

To Foles supporters and Sanchez fans and those of us in between. Chips QB isnt on this roster. If you could combine Sanchez and Foles than maybe…however both leave facets of his offense off the board. Sanchez does not have an arm to make all the throws and Foles is the Statue of Liberty.

Eagles 24 Seattle 14.

Special Teams touchdown.

Player of the Game- Either Zach Ertz or Brent Celek.

The winner of the weeks matchup between the Eagles and Seahawks are in the driver seat for a 1st round playoff bye. That is a huge thing as far as advancing to the NFC Championship game and the SuperBowl. By definition that makes this a HUGE game, and no doubt that both sides will be very focused on doing what it takes to win. Two very strong teams who have played inconsistent at times this year. I see the Birds coming out on top in the end, but it will be a real test for both squads.

GO BIRDS !!!!

Izzell…well stated ..I couldn’t agree more ..the defense and special teams as well as advantages across the offensive line will propel this team to have Dallas (who thinks they got there Mojo back? ) vs a shit Bear team in the Linc for a top seed game …wish I was there ..the next two weeks should be telling..

Eagles 23-Seahawks 16 …

Players of the Game
Offense – Sproles,Celek and yes, Josh Huff scores on a end-around
Defense – Fletcher Cox, Benny Logan, Michael Kendricks & Nolan Carroll

Both Teams Special Teams are among the Best in the NFL so I think it’s about a wash..

The key for Eagles Defense is that the DE/OLB’s when Pass-Rushing must contain and only go as Deep as QB Russell Wilson drops back..Do not loop around and allow Russell to slide up and then outside..Have to keep Russell Wilson in the Pocket where he’s average at Best..
Their WR Corp can be handled 1 on 1 by the Eagles CB’s.. Their Biggest Weapons in the Pass Game are their RB’s (Lynch & Turbin) on Wheel Routes or Outlet Passes as they slide out of the backfield
and Eagles have to watch those TE’s (Luke Wilson & Tony Moeaki)
I put Malcolm Jenkins on the TE, and use Michael Kendricks and or Nolan Carroll as a Spy on Russell Wilson and follow him side to side when he drops back to Pass

Should be a Great Game, I also expect Chris Polk to get 6-8 Carries up the gut to keep the Seahawks D Honest..

I think the Eagles are gona win in a more convincing fashion than most of you think. Seattle are the champs, kudos to them. But that was last year. They are not the same team they were or as dominate. Getting rid of Percy sure as hell didnt help. Seattle is not explosive at all on offense. If we shut down Marshawn, which we should the way we shut down Murray, its gonna be a blowout.
Seattle – Car 13-9 W HAHAHAHAHAHA
Seattle – DAL 30-23 L
Keep in mind they barely beat the Raiders, and lost to an average/ okay Chiefs team, and only put up 13 on Car? The game where they played the Giants was also alot closer than it looked. With the way our running game is now, defense emerging and playing better, along with a dominate Special Teams, Philly is going to win 31-14. Forget about all that bullshit about holding San Fran and Arz to 3! Who gives a damn about holding a crumbling Arz team with Stanton at QB to 3?!?! Or the most overrated QB in moderen nfl history in Kaep? Come do it at the Linc against the best team youve played in 2 months Sea!

Seahawks getting Rid of Percy Harvin has actually been the turning point
to their 2014 Seahawk Season.. They were Offensively in a Funk, lost their Identity and had fractures in the Locker-Room and among the Coaching Staff when Harvin was there.. Ask any Seahawk Player or Seahawk Fan and they will tell you it was a Godsend to send Percy Harvin to the Jets

Seattle’s defense is now healthy, they got Chancellor back, Wagner…and they are dominating…It is hard for ANY offense to score a lot of points against them…I think we lose a close one to Seattle comeback and win our last three against Dallas, the Giants and Redskins

The injury report is out for the day and Shady missed practice today for personal reasons. Good to hear that he is not injured, but really hope that whatever reason there is for him missing is not a distraction. We need him at 100% on Sunday.

You could argue that it did help them. But Seattle doesnt have the tight ends we do, along with the running back depth or recievers. Maclin is having a career year, and Jordan is just as good as you can get for a rookie. Cooper, despite not having a season like last year numbers wise is still playing his ass off. The dude is a big help in the run game, Percy is an explosive talent, and him going to the jets with no running game to shout about, or QB to throw him the ball he was destin to fail there this season. Id rather play Seattle without Percy then with him. Very similar situation to ours with Desean, but I dont think u can compare them due to our personel differences and weapons.

Special teams, and an emerging defense with Seattle traveling from the West Coast the Linc is going to be rockin! We force yet ANOTHER turnover, were able to run the ball down there throat against a dline with very little depth while holding Marshawn to 75 yards rushing at the most. I understand its the champs and you gotta be cautious when it comes to playin them, but Chipper and the boys got this.

Oregon vs Arizona tonight. I will be looking at the OLB Scooby Wright. He knows how to get to the QB and is an all around defensive presence! It will be interesting to see him and the Oregon offense square off.

Watched the Sixers tonight then switched over to the PAC 12 championship game after, missed the first Oregon field goal.
The entire 2nd period is being played without announcers so far ( it is great ).

Not much of a PAC-10 (12) Championship
Arizona Defense was gassed after the 1st Quarter
Ducks QB Mariotta probably nailed down the Heismann Trophy
After last night with a possible push by Wisconson’s
RB M Gordon if he has a huge Game over Ohio State
