Chip Kelly Season Two: Failure

RileyCooper&ChipKelly1Season two under Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, progression or regression? When week 17 comes to an end, so does the 2014 campaign; a disappointing end to what was a terrific start to the season. Flawed, a good term to throw into the mix to help answer the questions with how the team went from what they were to what we are left with. Not only does the season leave us questions about the quarterback position and secondary, but masterminds (Chip/Howie) behind the operation raise red flags all over the place.

Looking at the blueprint after the wildcard loss to the Saints in 2013; the off-season and draft, we put our trust into the decisions that were being made; Chip earned that after what he did his rookie season.

-The matter in which we handled the Desean Jackson situation, it was one of the strangest exits as far as reasoning provided by the head coach and ownership. Many believed Chip wanted to run his team like a college coach, a guy doesn’t have the attitude/personality that tickles your funny bone, get rid of him.

We received no compensation for Pro Bowl talent. We were left committing second and third round draft picks to the wide receiver position when obvious holes in the defense “should” have been the target. We were left trusting that Chip could still do the same things we saw in 2013 without the “speed” and “deep threat” ability. How are we feeling about that now?

-The Eagles made a great trade with getting Sproles, and used him “offensively” only parts of the season. There were times when nobody quite understood why he wasn’t on the field more. In the beginning of the season, screens and short passes to Sproles were effective, the Colts game comes to mind, but as the season went on, his usage became less and less. Where were the “wheel” routes?

With a guy like Sanchez at quarterback, both McCoy and Sproles for some reason were not used well in the screen and short game. Sproles was terrific for the special teams game, but his role could have been, should have been more. Chip salivated about all the ways he could be used, and in the end, was not a man of his word.

-Why sign a guy to push for a “starting role” if that was never the case? Nolan Carroll came from the Dolphins organization with experience; he had that combination of size/speed that Chip coveted. Even when Bradley Fletcher was exposed and exposed and exposed, Billy Davis says he “thought” about making a switch. What Super Bowl contending team allows for that type of “amateur hour” excuse?

-The 2014 draft, sure Jordan Matthews had a “good” season, but the draft “sucked.” Marcus Smith could very well be the next Danny Watkins, nice moments on film in college, but the heart to “battle” isn’t there. Huff was over drafted, and nothing else worth mentioning. Who wants blame, Howie, Chip, you want to share in the honors?

-The season was 9-3; a brutal loss to the Seahawks took something from this team, their feeling that the “system” was enough to win. It simply was no longer enough to win with out-snapping the opponent on the offensive side of the football and the quick pace/aggressive approach. No longer did special team touchdowns win football games. No longer were the Eagles able to avoid getting away from turning over the football and still beating teams. Better competition and the Eagles were exposed. Playing like your season was on the line gave us a non-urgent and undisciplined effort.

It went from playoffs, to a season with a meaningless week 17 game against the New York Giants. Pride, ending the season on a good note, save that speech for the players, as fans we are disgusted, angry and for good reasons.

Where do the Eagles go from here? What needs to be done and what do you want done?

What names in free agency to target? Who in the draft should they focus on? What players should be cut on this roster and which current free agents no longer under contract should be given a new deal to remain on the team?

Year three for coach Chip Kelly was supposed to be his year, that year, whatever title you want to give it, it was labeled as a possible Super Bowl year going into the 2014 season. 2015; hopeful to get back into the playoffs, win a playoff game?

Wasn’t that the projected outcome of this season?

Nice article Jeff & Happy Holidays to everyone out there..
This Off-Season is Huge for Chip Kelly,Staff & Front Office
Kelly took over a Talented but Heartless & Undisciplined Team over from AR and Brought Energy,Innovation and sound Fundamentals to the Team in
2013 that played hard and smart for him in 2013 and looked like a Team
On the rise again…
During last off-season, odd things began to happen with the debacle
And handling of the release of D-Jax, with no real plan of a deep threat replacement.. The 4-Game Suspension on RT LJ, with little upgrades for a bad Secondary that ranked poorly in 2013 & again in 2014 outside of M Jenkins
Then questionable 53 Man Roster was Set with only 2 healthy RB’s
To open the Season, but keeping 4 TE’s, and too many former Oregon Duck players.
As the 2014 Season went along, strange Game Plans came obvious
Like red-zone missed opportunities, having Foles attempt 50 + Passes behind a patchwork OL in some early games, the lack of utilizing the Teams MVP during
The first month of the Season in Darren Sproles the 2nd half of the Season
and leaning on Backup QB Sanchez to attempt to Win Games instead of changing up to a more Power Running game, using 2 Back Sets,
An over bunched OL on ocassions once all Injured OL returned,
But the biggest Reasons for the Eagles regression in 2014 were
1) Turnovers
2) Penalties (especially on 3rd Down)
3) Lack of Red-Zone Efficiency (Settling for FG’s)
4) Secondary getting beat over the Top time and time again

All 4 of these issues were problems right from the Start vs Jaguars
And continued thru the remaining 16 Games/Weeks of the Season

Outside of Special Teams and Sacks, I don’t see another area where
The Eagles improved, in fact many areas got worse…

We can all blame Foles injury, but he wasn’t playing well either
Before his injury so I am not buying that Sanchez ruined the Season

This Team and more importantly Chip Kelly’s schemes were exposed
And if he doesn’t do some real soul searching and make sone adjustments
Then I don’t believe he is the Coach to take the Eagles to a Championship

Year #3 in the Kelly Era is Critical for him and the Organization
In my Opinion, let’s see what he & Front Office do…

Jeff in my opinion I feel a lot of blame goes on that weasel Howie too that marcus smith pick has his print all over it, as far as decisions on player personel and playing time that’s chip! The Desean thing blows my mind it had such an effect all way around with this team now and in the future after 6 yrs you decide to release him something wrong with that picture odd happens 1st yr chips here look I feel believe it or not that Chip has a stubborn head as much or if not more than Andy I hope Im wrong but its starting to look like it now. Now when it comes to BDavis he got fired from 2 teams his defense rfankings were horrible his decision making really makes you wonder as we all found out this year. I think this team would be a beast in a 4-3 defense all the time that’s just my opinion. They screw up this next draft and season ship Howie and these strappers out of dodge. Why does it take years for a Philly team to win a title when other teams do it in such short times one word ownership right owner who is serious and dedicated to winning it comes together fast in any sport something we seem to never have! When we had Andy Reid we should have went to at least 4 sbs and won 2 took 6yrs before they got a top wr (TO) LB wasn’t important position neither so let Trott go remember Carolina these clowns should get act together or sell the team to a real football minded owner! Have a nice xmas Jeff

Jeff,
The Eagles will blow their 2015 1st rd pick just like their 2014 pick, because they are smarter than all of us, draft pundits, NFL personnel etc etc. They seem to know something we all don’t. They should just do us all a favor and trade the #1 pick now and save us the agony

CMON JEFF

I LOVE HOW EVERYONE CRIES ABOUT DESEAN NOW, MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK. FUCK DESEAN JACKSON. HE FLAT OUT QUIT ON THIS TEAM IN 2011, HE QUIT ON THE CITY, THE FANS, YOU AND I. FUCKKKKKKKKKK HIM. INEXCUSABLE. THANK GOD THAT JERK OFF IS OUTTA HERE. ALSO WE RECEIVED NOTHING BECAUSE NOBODY WANTED HIM NO TEAMS WOULD GIVE US ANYTHING FOR A REASON… ANDY DIDNT EVEN WANT THE GUY AND HIS RECEIVERS ARE THE WORST IN THE NFL… CMON MAN

BIG MISTAKE HERE JEFF. THE REASONING WAS AS IM TOLD IS BECAUSE CARY OR FLETCH COULDNT PLAY INSIDE CB IN THE DIME AND NOLAN COULD. IMO NOLAN SHOULDVE STARTED AND IN DIME CAME INSIDE… THAT DIDNT HAPPEN UNTIL LAST WEEK AND THATS A HUGE MISTAKE

WAY TO EARLY TO TAB SMITH DANNY WATKINS, ALSO HUFF AND MATTHEWS WILL BE PLAYERS IN THIS LEAGUE. HUFF LOOKS CAPABLE OF BEING A HUGE PLAYER FOR US IN THE FUTURE PENDING HE CAN FOCUS… ALLEN CAN AND DID PLAY, JAYLEN SHOULD COMPETE IN YEAR 2. HOW CAN YOU CALL A DRAFT AWFUL BECAUSE 1 OF THE 7 PICKS LOOKS WORTHLESS… THERE ARE TONS OF 1ST ROUNDERS THAT LOOK LIKE BUSTS SO FAR – MANZIEL, MACK, EBRON, FULLER, DENARD, PRYOR, FORD, ROBY, WARD….

FOR ONCE I WISH 1 WRITER IN PHILLY WOULD JUST POST THE REAL ABOUT OUR TEAMS RATHER THAN JUST BASH AND COMPLAIN. LOTS OF POSITIVES THIS YEAR.

What I don’t understand is the fact that we have highly regarded personnel people ( Gamble, Donahoe, and others) who let this happen. WHO is running the show. We’ll never know. All I know is I’m tired of the Eagles Organization. They are all frauds. Unfortunately, football is run by Vegas and Vegas hate’s Philly. I remember drinking with one of the odds maker’s years ago and he laughed at me when I said I was an Eagle’s fan. He said, Philly will never win a Super Bowl. I asked him why not and he laughed again and said he had to go. So, all I know is if I drafting I’m taking Marcus Peters the best cover corner to come out of College in years and maybe he’ll put a choke hold on our DC Bill Davis Merry Christmas Everyone

YES YES YES YES YES TO MARCUS PETERS !!!!!!!

11/06/2014 – Marcus Peters, the Huskies’ standout junior cornerback, has been dismissed from the program, multiple sources have told The Seattle Times. Peters got into an argument with an assistant coach during practice Wednesday, a source said, apparently the final straw in a series of run-ins with Washington’s new coaching staff. He also got into an argument with coaches during UW’s victory at Colorado on Saturday and then missed practice on Tuesday, sources said.

In his third year as a starting cornerback, Peters had been suspended for one game in September after his sideline outburst, in which he threw his helmet and gloves, a week earlier against Eastern Washington. That outburst followed what UW coach Chris Petersen called a “stupid” personal-foul penalty against Peters, who had head-butted an EWU receiver. Peters is considered a potential first-round NFL draft pick. – Adam Jude, The Seattle Times

STRENGTHS: Physicality and athleticism regularly stood out against top competition. Among his best attributes is recognition, as Peters plays the receiver very well, turning back toward the ball as the wideout does and frequently knocking the ball away or intercepting it.

Peters’ aggression is just as evident in his tackling. Whether it be against a receiver or coming up in run support, he is a physical hitter who looks to intimidate opponents.

WEAKNESSES: Clearly must answer questions surrounding his dismissal from the Washington football team on Nov. 6 following repeated clashes with the coaching staff. Was ejected from one game early in 2014 and rubbed some the wrong way when he was seen laughing on the sideline toward the end of a blowout loss to Oregon.

Not as smooth in coverage as former Husky Desmond Trufant, who went to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 22 overall two years ago. He can get too grabby downfield and has struggled with inconsistency, playing to the level of his opponent.

COMPARES TO: Aqib Talib, Denver Broncos — Just as Talib did when coming out of Kansas, Peters comes with off-field concerns but there is no questioning either cornerback’s length, aggression and ball-skills.

alwaysphilly- I agree with you on Marcus Peters. A few days ago I said the Eagles would be a perfect fit for Peters given his talent and the Eagles need for corners. Unfortunately, Marcus Peters will not be on the Eagles draft board in my opinion because he does not fit “Their Culture”. The talent pool is limited enough, but with culture being stressed, the pool decreases even more so. If Trae Waynes is available to them in the 1st round, that is a string possibility as a pick. If Marcus Peters is their in the second round during the Eagles pick, I would roll the dice and grab two top notch starting caliber corners. The two of them could man and shutdown the edges for years to come. This won’t happen though, because of CULTURE!

I have no ill feelings towards DJax. I wish him the best. The Eagles (Chip and Howie) failed miserably replacing his skill set. He mocked the Eagles after burning them…oh well, they put stories out about him and cut him 40 minutes later without even giving him a sit down about the situation. His attitude is well, you did not respect me enough to bring me in for a talk, so to hell with you too. I would feel the same way!

But yes, bring him in for a talk. I’ts business. It happens with employer and employee. I have been brought in for talks in former jobs due to my performance. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s pro football, their athletes, it’s also work, and they are humans.

dude cmon man throughout last season i guarentee chip and desean had at least a dozen one on ones… im sure howies had plenty of one on ones with him over the year too… maybe not that day or the day prior but im certain they did. matter of fact lesean mccoy is/was too:

“I don’t know,” McCoy said. “I never really got into it. I trust my team and the front office on the calls they make. I’m sure DeSean and the Eagles discussed what happened. It’s his choice or the Eagles’ choice to release that.”

I also seem to remember Desean saying he knew the eagles were going to cut or release him in advance….

also remember that last offseason the 3rd highest paid wr in the nfl (desean) refused to have an exit interview with his coaches then went on tv and told reporters he deserved a new deal that day…

dude was the 3rd highest paid wr in the nfl, was the highest paid eagle, was a problem in and out of the locker room and the most important thing – THE LAST TIME HE WAS BITCHING ABOUT MONEY HE QUIT ON THE TIME. SORRY IF IM HOWIE OR CHIP IM NOT TRUSTING MY HIGHEST PAID GUY NOT TO QUIT AGAIN, I DONT WANNA HEAR HIS SHIT ABOUT $$$$$$ WHEN HE WAS SET TO RAKE IN MORE MONEY THAN ANY EAGLE AND ANY WR IN THE NFL EXCEPT 2.

He never said he wanted more $ at the end of the 2013 season. A reporter asked him a question about his contract, he answered it in terms of yes I believe I outperformed my contract. He did not initiate it, nor was it brought up during the off season. Now, if he refused to meet during the exit interview, there is no defending that. At the end of the day two grown men went their separate ways, in my opinion, the team, the coach, the player and the fans paid for It and were hurt by it in terms of bottom line production. The Eagles still need to waste another pick on a burner as the wide outs on this team is still not good enough…see Riley Cooper as the #2. J.Mathews is stuck in the slot and Huff is not a #2 either.

Jackson AP

Two years ago, Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson signed a long-term contract with the team. He now wants to sign a new one.

“I definitely feel it’s something deserving,” Jackson said on locker-cleanout day, via Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com. “We’ll see how that plays out, and hopefully we can work things out smoothly and not have to worry about anything out of the ordinary.”

“Anything out of the ordinary” would include Jackson staying away from voluntary offseason workouts or holding out of training camp. The former would result in the squandering of a $250,000 workout bonus; the later would carry fines in the amount of $30,000 per day, along with partial forfeiture of his $2 million signing bonus allocation for 2014.

“But I definitely feel like it’s deserving,” Jackson said. “I’m proven in this league, and after this past year, went out there, no distractions, and just really put it all in for my team and went out there and had a lot of success, so we’ll see how it goes.”

He’s due to earn a base salary of $10.25 million. Factoring in the signing bonus allocation and the workout bonus, that’s a total cap charge of $12.5 million.

Jackson has base salaries of $9.75 million and workout bonuses of $250,000 for 2015 and 2016, respectively.

A brief holdout in 2011 ended before the $30,000-per-day fines kicked in. Jackson’s current agent, Joel Segal, hasn’t been bashful about holding guys out in order to get them paid. Segal last did that in 2011, with Titans running back Chris Johnson.

After missing five games due to injury in 2012, Jackson generated career highs in receptions (82) and yardage (1,332) this season. His prior high-water mark for catches had been 62.

The Eagles have the cap space to pay Jackson. The question is whether they’d want to set the precedent of ripping up a veteran player’s deal with three seasons remaining.

“Honestly, I feel very confident that my agent will work something out,” Jackson said. “I feel like I have a great agent, that’s what he’s for, that’s what his job is, all I have to really worry about is staying out of trouble and keeping my nose clean and doing the things I need to do, working on my craft and playing football.”

As Jackson closed in on his first long-term contract, it seemed that he was at times trying to avoid injury. The Eagles now have to wonder whether the diminutive (relatively speaking) Jackson will shy away from contact until he gets his next contract.

Either way, it’ll be the first contract tug-o-war for the Chip Kelly

Culture mhenski…Howie talked about it Monday on his show. Marcus Peters on the field outbursts will not fit with what this team is trying to do with the culture. Not trying to be a smart ass..but this is what Howie and Chip continues to emphasize. If I had my way..Peters is wearing an eagles uniform as he is an assassin. The Eagles seem to have a culture of softness to them on and off the field and it is lead by Howie and Chip. She Joyner called the Eagles offensive schemes finesse (soft). Their attitude to the type of guys they want to manage is soft.

Yes it is, but to the degree that the Eagles choked
Down the stretch after a 9-3 Start leaves a much
More bitter taste to most Fans..
I was not expecting a SB this year for many
Of the reasons we all discussed this Year,
But this Team took a Step Back in Year #2
all across the Board (except for DL Play)
Which there is no denying…
So now this Off-Season leads to more Questions
than Answers in my Opinion…
Maybe things came a little too easy last Year
Maybe Chip Kelly maxed out with the AR holdover Players
Who knows, lots of Factors all across the Board
But make no mistake, Chip Kelly & Staff & Front Office
Have a lot of work & difficult decisions to
Make to get back into SB Contention
The Cowboys are young & physical and outside
Of Romo & Whitten, will likely improve next a Year
The Giants have played better as Eli has settled into their new Scheme
War Beckham & RB A Williams appear to be Stars
To build their Offense around
The Redskins have as much Talent as any other Team
In the NFC East, and who knows what happens with RG3
But they win against the Cowboys, RG3 finishes Strong
And they may be back in the Picture next Season
Winning 10 + Games next Season in the
More Competitive NFC East will be difficult
And a huge opportunity lost this Season by
The Eagles & Chip Kelly who really could have made a statement
In the Divsion by finishing strong and Winning it again this Season

DeSean is like that ex-girlfriend, you bad mouth her to ease the pain of the loss once you realize you miss her. If we do not miss him, why do people keep bringing him up, whether the commentary is positive or negative. The Eagles also let Jason Avant walk. How often does his name get mentioned or when is he discussed? Never. There is a reason for that, he was not a play maker or a factor in the overall scheme of things. Jason Avant was a good guy, a team player, and unselfish, but Avant is not missed. Love him or hate him, DeSean Jackson is. There is a reason for that!

We have won the big “C” finally!

“Culture”? Check

“Cap surplus” Check

Championships? ????

Well we need to look at organizations like Seattle who built from nothing while our guys bragged about their modeled organization to see how Champions are built.

I’ll say it again.

The Dallas Cowboys will win 3 more Superbowls before we get to another one and lose.

Why?

The owner and front office.

They look for anomalies for coaches instead of what has worked in the past for Champions.

You can’t reinvent the game.

Chip Kelly will not win in the winter when defense, a mauling offensive line, and mistake free football from QB play is magnified.

Reality.

Philadelphia Eagles fans…let’s except what is instead of hoping for what might be.

Except what our Philadelphia Eagles has always been.

Mediocre and never good enough to win it all.

The perfect business model for an owner who makes millions with a team good enough to have the fans spend more next season.

Suckers.

What will Lurie do with that extra 15-20 mil?

You think half of that to Revis on a 2 year deal would have made a difference?

Suckers

What’s funny is, if Chip went 8-8 in his FIRST year of ever coaching in the NFL n went 9-7 or 10-6 in his second we’d all be saying the team is showing progress but since he started so fast everyone is upset cause of what happen, what other team lost their starting QB and is heading to the playoffs? Say what u want about Foles about how average he was playing but even playing average he was 6-2, the bottom line is, it’s only his second year, he still doesn’t have all the players he wants for his system, You guys can hate all u want, I’m still on board.

that’s not why the fan base is upset.

Fans are upset because serious flaws from last season were not addressed when the front office had the money to address them.

We went into the off season with serious problems in the secondary and the FO answer to those problems ended with the signing of Jenkins.

Who thought that was all we needed for the defense to take the next step?

Nate Allen again?

Bradley Fletcher again?

That’s why fans are upset and it have nothing to do with Chip’s 1st year success.

Did the team make moves to improve on last season or make moves that made the team go backward?

Djax gone….backward

Riley Cooper signed to multiyear deal – backward

Another bad pick in the first round when the defensive secondary is screaming for a fresh strong player that could give hope for that unit.

Fans are upset because this front office do what we’re use to them doing.

They shit the bed instead of grabbing the opportunity when it’s right there for them to take the next step.

They find ways to stay non champions.

I agree with what your saying, we all sat here last year n said they need major help at corner n no one thought Allen would return but still, even with that, we were in games that sanchez blew, I believe with Foles it would of been different.

Something pivoted after thanksgiving…I said it then ,and I still believe it to be true …the 9-3 season ,the thrashing by Green Bay ,and the assumed bounce back in Dallas all seemed to point towards a repeat as NFC east champs..pffffft..the air went out …but why? We are all aware, and have delineated the obvious..but something under the surface caused this team towards its current malaise …yes they lost to a better Seattle team at home ,and seemingly lost there fight …what happened ?.There was an apparent quit in this team …I contend it had to do with sticking with Sanchez over Foles…yes we were told Foles wasn’t ready or cleared to play …I’m not trying to be conspiratorial ,however ,this bunch appeared mentally unprepared vs Dallas ..the opening kickoff ..the week before shady fumbles to start the second half..these are acts of omission …if the talent was good enough to dominate Dallas on thanksgiving ,when did the pendulum swing at home ? I still am of the belief there was decision making that seems eerily misplaced …what if we are to find out Jeffrey or howie were told ,play Sanchez ,because if Foles picks up the baton and carries us into a playoff win ,we will have to pony up big $$ …we are not good enough to win it all ,so from upstairs ,I believe the pin was placed into the balloon…then again I still feel there was a 2nd shooter in Dealy plaza…it’s fodder ..but it also is history and the assassination had it’s zapreuder film ,and we’ve had a month of garbage football since we carved the bird..literally ..

I doubt it very seriously n let me tell u why, Chip would never of allowed it, if they told him that he would of bolted for the door, the man won’t even play his reserves to see what he has because he feels the starters give him a better chance to win this last game, this guy is going out swinging, so with that being the case I have to disagree.

If it quacks like a duck …it’s usually a duck…why would you ask sanchez to throw 50 times vs Washington? When the running game is effective ,and you have time outs ? In the final drive is tempo more important than fundamentals ? Wtf is going on here .? Why are we asked to believe that in game 15 Ertz emerges ? But he wasn’t good enough up until that time ? We were told it’s match ups ? Really ..he can’t block ..but he sure can ball on offense …Polk ran two tds in the red zone ..yet in San Fran and arizona ? Where is he on goal line ? Fletcher is the head hurling backwards in the limousine ..don’t believe what you see ..Fletcher is finally removed for lack of confidence …well it rhymes with incompetence …but please ,Bill Davis …don’t tell me …it took you all this time to find out the obvious..I’m telling you something is amiss …and it really pisses me off …obviously ..we can’t handle the truth…I’m done ..happy festivals to the rest of us …we do deserve the truth..and I believe someone will rat it all out at seasons end ..

Go get your man Chip…do what it takes…and get Mariota!

You cant win with Foles/Sanchez/Barkely…you cant win and you will lose the locker room…its a no-brainer…you need to go for it and get the QB that YOU are comfortable with….its obvious that there is no franchise QB on the roster now…

Bust the move

Get Mariota!

Well,

You can win with Sanchez and Foles but you need a mauling type defense that’s gonna keep the other team to under 30 points…and not just the bad teams, the good ones too.

But as long as we’re gonna go with mediocre D – then the O needs to be beastin’ – kinda like the Boys have been winning this year (likely this formula gets them knocked out early in the playoffs, but it still got them there).

You can’t be mediocre offensively AND defensively and expect to get to the offseason consistently.

Practice Squad RB after Ellington & #2 RB went down,
Fitz has been banged up, playing one 1 leg,
Also Lost All-Pro LB Washibgton to Suspension for the Year
And their All-Pro DL D Dockett to Season Ending Injury..

Keeping them not only competitive, but making the Playoffs,
In the NFL toughest Division so Injuries can be overcome

There’s no comparison to the Talent
And most important Players that Cardinals
Lost compared to Eagles..
Cardinals beat Eagles head to head
And are going to Post-Season and play in a much more difficult Division
Then the NFC East..
How can you not give credit where credit is deserved

Invoorect HAC,
Eagles were 9-3 and in great shape with a simple split
Of final 4 games.. They peaked too early
And blew their load on Thanksgiving which is what they wi be remembered for..
Not since the early 2000’s has a Team started 9-3
Only to fail at making the Post-Season
Tampa Bay Buc’s were the last Team to do this where the
Other 47 Times thick occurred, the Teams that Started 9-3
All went onto the Post-Season which is a choke
Of collasal porportions in a 16 Game Seasons
The last 4 Games were with either home or within a 2 hour Bus Ride..
What Teams gets a final month of games basically at home like the Eagles did.. an Epic Choke Job by Kelly & Co

Perhaps the timing was a coincidence,
But week leading up to Seahawk Game
Kelly talked more about not being offered or even talked about
With questions about the U of Florida..
His immaturity and ego showed thru those Press Conference’s
and his Team failed to perform well ever since..
I never recall Coach AR being asked during a Płayoff Stretch about other Jobs or other Opportunities..
Ciacj Kelky seemed to relish with the extra attention
And lost his focus and Team for the Task at hand
Hopefully he will use lessons learned for he will
Get asked these questions every late Fall

Always has in the past.. It’s like Chip said, these are my Guys
I’m going to battle with, call up the practice squad players
Roseman typically will bring a Player in with eyes of having that Playercstep up in Year #2 as an Eagles (Goode,Gardner,Brad Smith,
Colt Anderson,D Molk, etc, and we just didn’t see any of these type
of Pick-ups as if GM Roster is out of the Roster Procurement responsibility

The defensive collapse was simply due to terrible, inept coaching by Chip Kelly and Billy Davis. Unless your name is Revis or Sherman, you are not going to have one on one coverage on Jordy Nelson, Dez Bryant, or DJax.
I think Fletcher is a very average corner who was put in a very bad situation.
We are in trouble because the front office management and the coaching staff have not done the job.
I predicted before the season that the front office was a weak link…they proved it by messing up the season

Just dumb across the board…

You don’t sell the farm for a QB, that’s overrated, and won’t be what he is in College, in the NFL – ala Johnny Manziel.

I don’t care if he knew Chips system in College – We’ve already seen his QB before in his version of his NFL style offense in Dennis Dixon – How’d that work out??????

Mariota will continue the trend of Popular College QB’s, and Heisman Trophy Winners, that flop in the NFL….

Equally as stupid is getting rid of another Pro Bowler who has been one of your best players just because you don’t want to pay him, and because Paul has a bright idea – a stupid idea……I guess you think more mediocrity is necessary huh???…….Celek is our best TE also…

Who would be our RB then Paul?? Polk?? – stupid. Sproles? He’ll be 32 next year, Shady is 25 – and all you think he is worth is a 2nd, and a 4th huh?? – just stupid.

And for a guy who had 9 sacks, I wouldn’t be too quick to say he doesn’t fit, nor anxious to get rid of either in Vinny Curry. He has more sacks in his career than Fletcher Cox; no lack of appreciation for Cox, but my point is that Curry, is valuable in this Defense.

Have you given any thought to who would play Cox spot if he got hurt, and we didn’t re-sign Cedric Thornton?….Knowing you, you would probably say Taylor Hart – again just stupid.

I would hold on to DeMeco if he is healthy, and you may need to hold onto Cary Williams for depth as well. The others I agree with you.

Iupati with Leg Injuries the last 2 Seasons, I stay away
I think James Carpenter from Seahawks would be better than
both Franklin/Iupati and played at Alabama under Eagles OL Jeff Souderland and would know his System/Techniques well

I like OLB Houston – I don’t see the Chiefs letting him go
Next Option is a Pass-Rusher OLB like O’Brien Schofield of the Seahawks

I like both CB’s B Maxwell and D House and also like Phillip Adams,Walt Thurmond,

I like Safety Da’Norris Searcy from Bills

Your Draft Selections don’t make Sense, though I like the Players

How is LB McKinney lasting to the Mid-2nd Round
Or WR D Beckham-Green until the Mid-3rd Round
Or CB M Peters to the 4th Round
or NT T Williams lasting to the 6th Round

I just don’t see where these Players I listed are anywhere close to being available where you have them slotted..

ILB McKinney is a late 1st/Early 2nd Rd (#25 to #40th Range)
WR Beckham-Green is a 2nd Rd (30th-50th Range)
CB M Peters is a 2nd Round (30th-50th Range)
DT T Williams is a 4th Rounder in a thin DT Class (100th-125th Range)

What Trades are you making to move up to get these Players??

Mocks should typically list Players who are Ranked close to the Range of where the Eagles are Selecting and not a Wish List of Players who you hope they can get…

4th Rd – #125-130 Range
5th Rd – #165 Range
6th Rd – #200 Range
7th Rd – #240 Range

Remember that the Supplemental Draft Picks kick in after the 3rd Round which add anywhere from 5-10 Picks at the end of Rounds from the 4th,5th,6th & 7th Rounds

None of the mocks out there are actuals, they’re approximates. But, these players are mocked close to where they would be drafted.

There will be lots of 1st Round picks that will drop into the second Round – It happens every year, knocking McKinney down a little closer to where the Eagles pick. This where Howie, and Gamble should get aggressive and go get what we need.

I expect Beckham Green, and Peters off-field issues to be overly criticized dropping them beyond where they may be mocked, because of how teams are going to evaluate these players off-field behavior as well. Beside that, Beckham Green hasn’t played or practiced in almost 2 years.

I’ve seen mocks that have Terry Williams lasting between the 4th-6th Round, if they can steal in with a supplemental pick, then that’s a plus for the Eagles. But again it’s still an approximate. He could go in the 7th round for all we know.

FYI, If they can’t get Houston, then I go to the draft for a pass rusher. No to O’Brien Schofield point blank. I don’t want anymore mediocrity on this team.

I like Searcy as well at Safety, but, Id’ rather have the speed of McCourty. considering what it would cost the Eagles to pay Houston, Franklin, Maxwell, House, – and I’ve heard some interest in Revis as well – but I’d doubt it – Searcy would cost too much. That being said I think he will be re-signed by Buffalo, as will James Carpenter.

I know the Eagles will have to go up and get McKinney. A trade will have to be made.

We need major insurance in case DeMeco can’t play up to his usual potential.

Beckham-Green will be there near the top of Round 3, and Peters may be available mid 3rd to top of the 4th depending on how evaluators feel about him

– if not there is a good plan 2 player in D’Joun Smith – 5’11 190 4.47 speed from Florida Atlantic, who may be there as well.

I’m also intrigued by Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford
Height: 6-1. Weight: 218.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57

He’s a two sport athlete who understands down, and distance as part of his mentality when playing the field as a Safety. Having a Basketball background will be an advantage for him and also Quinton Rollins who is also as big time, instinctive, athlete playing in the secondary.

Good prospects for FA and tbe draft. I do not think the Eagles will be very active in free agency for starter personnel. More so for depth. I tbink they will be looking to the draft to fill starting positions. If I were them I would look at taking care of the secondary first.
Even with Marcus Peters baggage I would be surprised if he lasted until the 4th round. You are correct about Quinten Rollins, his basketball background will help him play cb.

Thanks for chiming in Eagle.

The Eagles HAVE to pursue Free Agents, just to upgrade some of the needs, because most of the Rookies drafted this year, will not be able to just step in as starters – They need to be brought along slowly, and gradually develop into what we need them to be.

I would like to get Peters in the 3rd Eagle, but as I’ve been discussing with Paul, I think they will evaluate him so critically he may drop.

That happened to Vontaze, and he didn’t help himself at the Combine athletically, or attitude wise. His drop actually was a wake up call for him.

Although I don’t think he is as bad as Burfict was, I still think he may drop a little, same thing for Beckham -Green – But he, and Rollins should be on the Eagles radar to play behind Maxwell, and House, then prove they are starting caliber NFL CB’s.

Cliff, I have been stating this past week, after all is said and done Marcus Peters will not even be on the Eagles draft board because he does not fit into their “Culture”. That type of thinking will develop a culture of losing(mediocrity).
Cam Thomas and Quinten Rollins are both good prospects for developmental corners. If available for their first pick, I want Trae Waynes. I checked out Lynden Trail. Looks like you found a nice small school prospect. I was not aware of him. Nice find bruh!

Marcus Peters SHOULD be on their radar Eagle, inexcusable that he wouldn’t be, even with the off-field issues. I really don’t think they’re that serious, but I understand where the league is coming from, and they have to be careful how it reflects on the teams, and the League.

That’s the only reason I had him going in the 4th; I’m hoping the Eagles get a good supplemental pick for DeSean Jackson, so they could select him soon than later.

I don’t think it’s necessary to draft a CB in the 1st Round, because whoever they select wouldn’t be ready start anyway – including Trae Waynes.

It’s just my feeling that there are other CB prospects in the draft that may end up being just as good.

D’Joun Smith, Quinton Rollins, Marcus Peters, and Eric Murray, all have fantastic potential, but they need to first learn how to be professionals, and not be set up to fail, by starting them too soon.

GMCliff, I don’t believe Eagles get a Supplemental Draft Pick
For D-Jax since he was technically under Contract last Off-Season
And was not a Free-Agent lost, rather a Player who was Released
And Then signed with another Team..

Well Eagle, that stubbornness proves DeSean was correct when he said that they were naïve, and it will, and has always prevented them from accomplishing more than what they have. Andy Reid was just as dumb.

Their biggest problem is the guy who signs the free agents, and drafts the culture, because they are deprived of talent whether they think so or not…..and for some time has always been.

Not me Eagle. I would sign 2 CB free agants, and draft CB’s later in the draft. Neither Waynes, or Peters is ready to start in the NFL immediately.

We need more OLB pass rushers, – We are 29th in Total Defense despite the sacks we had – and OL Depth, especially a successor to Jason Peters – Lame Johnson isn’t a LT.

I’ve been talking about Lyden Trail since last years draft; He just decided to stay in school.

Chris Culliver
Byron Maxwell
Davon House
Walt Thurmond
Phillip Adams

Then add a Draft Pick in the 3rd Rd like
Rollins, Eric Rowe,Cam Thomas, the kid from USC
Who is hurt right now..

OLB/DE- Trey Flowers from Arkansas will be a Player in the NFL
6-5 260lbs, can leap, long arms and not afraid to mix it up

I can see the Eagles signing one FA CB and drafting one…Byron Maxwell would be my CB target. If Waynes is there, I take him, I think he will go through rookie struggles like most, but by mid year would round into form. I can get O line men in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I think Laken Tomlison could start immediately at right Guard.
I would draft either ILB Eric Kendricks or James Vaughters to replace DeMeco.
This is going to take a couple of years to straighten out. The Eagles are not going to the big dance in 2016 either, but by 2017, I can see it happening with the right decisions.

If Extend Graham to an extension as rumored,
And they have Barwin already locked up
and Drafted MSII with their 1st Pick in last years Draft
Do you really think they will then go out and Sign big-$&$
Houston… Your Nuts and don’t follow how the Eagles operate..
Ooh and still have Trent Cole under Contract..
The Eagles only allot an “X” amount of Dollars to any Position
And I would say they are spent up already
Now if the Eagles let Graham Walk, and flat out
Release Trent Cole, then I could possible see them
Pursuing Houston.. But Houston will resign
With Chiefs no doubt so it’s a moot point
Anyways.. Tambi Hali will get Cut by Cheifs
And be on the market if you like him

How they operate isn’t what I base my draft selections on – because their usual philosophy is to draft mediocre to below average players – I want a higher standard of player.

So you’re saying that you guarantee Houston will not be available right??…….Remember, you’ve made these predictions in the past Paul, and nothing comes to fruition……FYI buddy.

They will release Trent Cole, or redo his contract. I don’t like Barwin, and feel we need a better option there as well, but they will keep him. MSII, IS A BUST, and not worth talking about. They need a more consistent Pass Rush.

They have sacks this year but somehow they are still 29th in the League in total Defense. Realistically they tallied a lot of those sacks against scrub teams.

Connor Barwin isn’t a major pass rusher. Jason Babin had 18 sack one year, and we released him the year after, because although he had that aberration of a season, realistically he was average at best as well.

I know if they were able to sign him(Houston), you would be elated…

and No, I don’t want Tamba Hali, and I doubt that Graham would get major money from the Eagles – He’s another bust, but you want to sign him and give away Vinny Curry huh???

This would be Chip Kelly’s decision Cliff, not mine
I would never move up and Trade Valuable High Picks for any Single Player.. Mariotta will need at least 1 Year and probably 2 Years of grooming before being ready
Shady’s Value will never be higher and I believe Chip Kelly does not like his style of Running and prefers backs that hit the Hole more direct
RB’s in Kelly’s System are a dime a dozen and don’t need a $10 Million Back… especially with Holes all over the Defense and an aging OL and average WR Corps..

You keep wanting to hold onto Veterans past their Primes and Earn Big Dollars – Ryans, Celek, Cary Williams at $9 Million, are you crazy
What has this Eagles Team won with these guys anyways

His style?? You mean like Kenyon Barner??

Stop with the his style of player hog wash. He hasn’t groomed many players from Oregon to even be NFL Players…..So how does having his players benefit the Philadelphia Eagles??????????

I’ve been through this with you before when you want to see a player moved(DeSean). Shady has earned the honor, and respect to be paid like that by the Eagles – and neither you, Howie, or Chip have anyone better in mind to replace him – especially a rookie – again just dumb.

Which one has made a difference for us in the pros, and for this team???? Joey Harrington??, Dennis Dixon??, Kenyon Barner??, Taylor Hart??, Jeff Mahael??? Casey Matthews????

I don’t ever want to hold onto any player past his prime, and you know that. I wanted Trent Cole gone 3 years ago, I don’t like Evan Mathis, or Todd Herramans, and wanted them traded 2 years ago as well. What are you talking about??

Celek is not past his prime, you just prefer Ertz, but unless you play Ertz at WR, he won’t get many snaps, because he’s not a blocker – as this season has demonstrated – because he isn’t the complete TE the Eagles need

– and please don’t single out one game to make your Ertz point to me – As Celek has sacrificed his Offensive production to continue to help with the Blocking up-front again.

DeMeco Ryans couldn’t be replaced when he got hurt …period. I don’t want to hold on to Williams, but who do you think is better in house already under contract. Unless you can bring in suitable replacements you have to keep him.

He has some potential and a better Pocket Prescence than given credit for, but will need to get stronger and see the whole field as most young QB’s need to learn at the NFL, but a bust no,
A Franchise QB, probably not either.. I see him as a Matt Hasselback
Type.. Accurate with short to intermediate routes, smart with some mobility but lacks a big NFL arm…
An under the radar QB who quietly had a nice Season this year
Is USC’s Cody Kessler who may rise up the boards during Senoir Week/Indy Combine, etc.. He has most of the Career Passing Records while at USC and was not all hyped up like all their most recent QB’s gave been.. May be a nice 3rd/4th Rd Pick for someone..

Let’s talk about the Eagle’s culture.

Losers!

No Superbowls!

Draft players without a pulse!

I remember telling everyone on here that Vontaze Burfict would be a beast and the apologist claimed it’s just not the way the Eagles do things.

Well, I would rather go against the way the Eagles do things because their culture and choice of players leads to shit.

Ray Rhodes and Tom Modrak drafted and signed players that led to a kick ass defensive team which made Jimmy Johnson’s job simple.

The Eagles front office squandered this first by giving Andy freaking Reid GM powers, taking away the team’s checks and balances while losing talent evaluators and a hell of a scouting unit.

Our scouting guy Ross ends up with our Rival the Giants and get 2 Superbowls.

Andy shit Reid is gone his Philosophy is still in place.

We don’t trust this team to draft the players needed to dominate in a fierce NFL, because you can’t shy from getting crazy, culture be damned players yet expect to win.

I knew Burfict would be good..not based on his character, etiquette, or 40 time.

The nigger is crazy!!!!!

That’s what we need!!!!!!!!

I played football coming up and everyone knew to be careful when playing against a crazy mother f$&cker.

Look at Lynch and Sherman.

You think Carroll gives a damn about their crazy side?

These same players could not fit into the Eagles cub scout culture and that’s why we will never win.

Gamble drafted crazy Mothers in San fran for their defense but soon as he gets here we get a project Marcus Smith in the 1st freakin Round.

This team will not win until they go back to old school organization.

A coach that coach…A GM that General Manager with a scouting team hired with a nose for mercenaries.

That’s once pathetic Seahawks built while we were bragging for how well we manage the freakin. cap.

Jefffrey Lurie win every year.

Norman Braman before Lurie won.

They got the brink truck to back the cash into their vaults.

The fans?

Well we can just talk about what crazy, great football player the Eagles will not get because they don’t fit ///”THE CULTURE”

The Eagles will never win a Super Bowl with Nick Foles.

How many of those wins of Foles came against playoff contending teams with their best players on the field.

Foles can beat up on weak teams and it’s unfortunate that the weak teams are not usually in the playoffs, and it’s just our luck to not be in the playoffs now a team with a losing record is in.

Is the goal the Super Bowl?

If so, then let’s stop talking about Foles.

The whole team must be hitting on all cylinders for Foles to be apart of an contender.

A team with Holes need a QB who can carry a team with glaring weaknesses.

Let me know when that happens but until we’re sleep walking through season knowing how it all ends.

Foles was 1-5 before and suffered a season ending injury the season before last.

Didn’t play a complete season last year on a weak schedule and played like hot shit this season before suffering a season ending injury.

He’s injury prone, slow, and inaccurate.

His deep ball is shit and he throws off of his back foot.

I will not ignore that.

That’s Nick Foles.

He’s more of what I’ve mentioned than the anomaly of 2014.

I don’t expect him to be anything outside of what we’ve seen so far and this team don’t have what it takes to build a team that can win it all with a serviceable quarterback who rarely put together 4 quarters of good play.

This team needs a franchise quarterback and if fans want to win they should except the truth.

I want a Super Bowl more than I need Foles to show us if he can be the guy.

We’re wasting time that can be spent training the guy needed with the fire, athleticism, arm, and field presence that can win it all.

Foles is not that.

Eagles have to go with Foles in 2015 for their are no other viable QB’s
On the Roster.. Sanchez was a 1 Year stop-gap in case Foles got hurt,
Which he did again . Barkley has not advanced past a #3 QB so Kelly
Will need to Draft a QB (Mid-Rounds) and or bring in another Veteran
QB in the event Foles misses time again in 2015
The positive is that Foles is on his final Year and inexpensive Rookie Deal
And has a lot to prove to the Eagles or any other Team if he wants
A long-term Career as a NFL Starting QB..
This is not Rocket Science, you go with who you have, who has Won Games, when healthy as a Foles has, but make no mistake, Kelly will bring in another QB for he has stated since Day 1, that you need 2 Quality QB’s
On your Roster and Barkley is not one of them..

Foles has never received a ‘ringing endorsement’ from Kelly. He has always liked the ‘other’ guy. Foles has no major support on the team from the Players…they have watched him come up small and they know that a major problem for this team, this year was turnovers..

Foles/Sanchez led the league in turnovers this year and Foles completed less than 60% of his passes.

You cant give ringing endorsements to sup-par players….

Foles is not a Kelly guy….no surprise at all that he doesn’t back Foles up and talks about ‘evaluations’ when it comes to Foles

He’s not a franchise QB that deserves any special treatment from the Coach

We have to make a move…move up in the draft and take the most talented QB we can get

Kool, clearly you do not understand the price that would have to be paid. The Eagles first round pick will be in the mid round. They would have to give up at least 3 first round picks plus additional high round picks because how the picks are weighted. Just saying we have to bust a move is silly. The intricacies of it will not allow the Eagles to just bust a move. Keep in mind other teams with higher picks will be looking to get up to get a QB. Tampa Bay will have draft pick #1 it appears and they will be taking a QB, so that leaves Mariotta or Winston for other teams to move up to get. The reality is that the Eagles do not have the fire power to get up there, especially when having to compete with other teams in better draft position to move up.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended by the team for violating team rules. Will the light ever come on for this kid? Connor Shaw will start for the Browns tomorrow against the Ravens as Manziel is injured. I don’t know what the deal is with Hoyer.

Constantly being suspended hurts the team because you can’t be relied upon. Keep in mind, the NFL has suspended him too. Being unreliable is more problematic than being a headache….that is not culture, that is Josh deciding what the value of his NFL career is to him. As great a talent as he is, if he is not playing due to suspension, what good is he if he ?

Brett Hundley!!!!

He has all the intangibles needed and can’t be any worse then the Nick Foles we seen this season.

I would rather from a guy with his skill set than on what we’ve seen this year with Foles.

I want a guy who can make plays even when the offensive line is injured or miss blocks.

I want a quarterback who can make the first rusher miss if he comes loose and still threaten the defense on a broken play.

Brett Hundley solidify the postion for the next 10 years.

Nick Foles will get Chip Kelly fired before we get a chance to actually see his offense executed with the right QB for a whole season.

If we’re not going to win it all anyway next year then we might as well draft Hundly to compete for the starting job next preseason, and if he beat out Foles in the preseason the Foles don’t deserve to be the starter.

Songs…have you honestly watched Brett
Hundley play? Brett Hundley is inconsistent and streaky. His pocket presence is shaky at best when pressure is on. Hundley will not make his 3rd and 4th reads. It’s option one, two..and out. Must work on consistent accuracy as well. I would look at him in the 3rd round….tops. Brett Hundley will not be anything special….unless he commits to staying in the pocket and learning how to maneuver in the pocket, keep his eyes down field and throw a strike. That is what kap and RG3 is trying to do now. Right now, that is not apart of his game plan or game.

Hundley would not beat out Foles in a competition next year. Hundley needs bench time on an NFL roster.

I compare Brett Hundley to a Jason Campbell/EJ Manuel/C Ponder type.. Who are just too slow at Reading Defenses and making Decisive Passe….

I don’t think Hundley is necessarily slow at reading defenses. I just think that he allows his instinctive impulse take over when the pocket closes in on him and his first two options are not available. He literally tucks his head down and runs. If he would keep his head up looking for receivers to either break free or come back to him he would be more effective. Running like he does will get him hurt in the NFL. This is what Songs does not know about Hundley. Just throwing a name out there because he has a strong arm and can run does not make you an average QB. Not good..but average.
Hundley has to be coached to understand how to make plays with his legs in the pocket..starting off with keeping his head up to find open receivers. When Hundley is zoned in, he can be deadly with his accuracy and decision making. he has to work on that part of his game though. When a pocket collapses around you and pressure is applied, that has nothing to do with reading a defense. I don’t think identifying where the pressure is coming from is the problem. I think it’s trusting himself, his vision, and ability to get the ball where it needs to be under duress.

Alright..I’m open for the competition.

The Eagles need to get Barkley the hell outta here and should draft Huntley.

do an open competition next preseason.

Let’s just agree if Foles can’t beat out a rookie then he don’t deserve to start.

I’ll leave it there.

I would absolutely agree. I would also guarantee Hundley would not beat out Foles in his (Hundley’s) rookie season with all things being equal.

Was Foles pocket presence shaky this season?

What’s the deal pointing out flaws in QB’s in defense of Foles when he exhibit the same flaws?

No one can talk about another QB being streaky, inconsistent, poor pocket presence and turnover the ball after what we’ve seen Foles do this season.

Throw in injury prone when mentioning other QB’s in defense of Foles also.

Here’s a real good question.

Why is other QB’s flaws magnified yet excuses are mede for Foles who have the same serious flaws?

Can someone answer that for me please?

Throwing off his back foot….oh that’s the offensive line!

Won’t step into his throws…

Oh that’s because Foles is effective from the hits he got earlier do to the offensive.

Suppose Foles is more of what we’ve come to see this season?

A damn turnover machine who is injury prone with poor mechanics.

Should we waste another season or get the guy now who have a higher ceiling?

Who have a better arm, some mobility, fire as a leader.

Isn’t that the long term need for this Eagle team?

I want to see a young athletic guy chosen by Chip Kelly who is a serious threat to Foles.

Foles played like his hair was on fire in 2013 knowing Mike Vick could get in a keep the job if he failed.

Foles played like shit once there was no threat behind him, so I want the young athletic competition.

Foles play better when the starting job is not secure…and again.

He don’t deserve to start if he can’t beat out a rookie.

I’m just setting the table because I have a feeling Chip Kelly in his 3rd year will do everything possible to get a guy who can run his offensive who don’t have Fole’s limitations.

If Chip is going to fail it will be with his guy.

A new athletic QB gives Chip an extra 5 years with the Eagles.

Yes…but Foles has NFL experience, you can not measure that in comparison to a college QB or rookie. C’mon man…you should know better!!! It’s night and day. I like how you look at this year’s Foles play as “The Real Foles”, but last years’ Foles as an anomaly. You can’t have it both ways!!! There is simply not enough tape to say who he really is, not even Kelly is certain.
You have consistently failed to answer HAC’s question. Why is Barkley, and Foles on this team, neither are mobile/athletic. Sanchez has some pocket athleticism, but nothing special at all. He rarely utilizes what he has in terms of mobility. Why did not chip take an athletic QB in the draft, there were plenty of them available?

Russell Wilson came in year one and produced on a high level and so did Andrew Luck.

Again….I’m not saying experience isn’t important but what good did experience do for Foles this season?

He played like hot shit with his experience.

Again..this team is better off with a serious threat to Foles at QB in case Fole’s best days are behind him.

If Foles can’t beat out a rookie then he don’t deserve the position.

Once again, everybody is not going to be Russell Wilson or Andrew Luck. Nor can you compare them. They are who they are and Foles is who he is. You have advocated for players that have played like hot shit..RG3, Cam, and Kaep at certain points. You rarely mention these guys anymore though….you know why as I do. Their play fell off and you abandoned ship! You also was on the Johnny Manziel hype train..how has he worked out in the NFL? Like shit as I predicted. Take a good look, the league has caught up with running QB’s simply because they are not accurate and good pocket passers. That makes them one dimensional. Russell Wilson is the exception. But he is a Seahawk. If you think Brett Hundley is anywhere close to Wilson, you are terribly misguided!!!

Luck has played poorly the last month for the Colts
With lots of Turnovers, their lack of a running game,
Since RB A Bradshaw went down has caught up with them
For Trent Richardson has now lost snaps Tocantins practice squad RB D Herron… Colts are going nowhere in Post-season

Not to change gears, but don’t sleep on USC QB
Cody Kessler who is lighting up Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl
Kessler has 36 TD’s – 4 Int’s and a 70% Completion rate and is
Is one of the few recent Trojan QB’s who actually has a NFL
Arm and can make all the Throws unlike Barkley,Sanchez,Lineart
Before him… Keep an eye on Kessler who Kelly is a little familiar with..

Are you kidding me…Foles accuracy is nothing to write home about…he doesn’t read defenses…Foles is nothing special…and he proves it everytime we play a tough team.

Brett Hundley has some mobility and a much better arm than Foles

I want Mariota or Winston…but I wouldn’t mind settling for Hundley has an alternative to Foles…we have to upgrade and he would be an upgrade.

Kool, your record on judging QB’s in dismally abysmal. Dude, you gotta get it out of your head that just having a strong arm and mobility does not equate to being a good QB. That is all you look for it seems.

Songs Why would Kelly speak of high praise about a quarterback who has no financial leverage ..I keep telling you ..it’s a business firstly ,he’s spoken plenty when he was winning games ,we are a performance driven league ,and foles has been on the right side of a ledger …I still contend there is an interesting point that you did mention..I’ve parodied early on this season as the boy George culture club..they are repeating past histrionics, seemingly the organization can’t tolerate perceived abhorrent behavior…this game is violent ,played by men …if chipology is Big wins…he’s mistaken …bad ass assassins ,win…I hope his humbling 0-3 down the stretch up until Tommorrow, awakens his cocky demeanor ..he’s in a very tough spot ,because he touted the media , that getting a W ,trumps all else,vs the Giants..I couldn’t disagree more …you just missed the first step of any seasons goal,to make the playoffs…Your next responsibility as a head coach is to win games ,I get that ,but, you missed the playoffs ,your team had no fight ..your now obligation is to evaluate what you do have in game speed…you’re on the goal line and you’re not handing it to Polk? This is a no brainer decision…new guys that practiced all year and through otas..are players ,they want to play …that’s more than a few guys showed in the last 3 weeks…

Cliff, I watched him last night ( Jacoby Brissett) He reminds me of McNabb, bigger though. He is a junior. I don’t think he is coming out this year. He is a good prospect to develop. The good thing is that he does keep his eyes downfield when he is maneuvering in the pocket and has good accuracy. Huge plus!

If he does, he is the one you draft – Not Mariota…..
