A Look At All Of The Moves Sam Hinkie Has Made

save us samThere’s been so much debate between tanking/Not tanking. People saying, Hinkie’s playing fantasy basketball or he’s a mad genius. Wondering if Hinkie going to hit the reset button again and again. Or this was his plan all along. One thing is for sure, Hinkie supporters and his non supporters will go to great lengths to defend their views. There’s almost no middle ground. To be honest, I’m getting tired of the whole damn thing. I just want to see fun basketball again around these parts. With all my frustration about that situation I decided to give my self a breather.

So instead, of me beating my head against the dashboard, I have decided to play “Name That Hinke Sixer“. Well, it doesn’t matter if you don’t want to play because I’m going to play anyway. I could have called it, “Name That Hinkie Asset“, BUT I wanted to go with actual human beings, instead of all the draft picks.

With that said, here’s all the human beings that Hinkie has come into contact with thus far, with some of my non-sense included. Hopefully, I found them all

Michael Carter-Williams We all know where MCW went 🙁

Glenn Rice Jr– Is  currently playing  for Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League. Yup.

Pierre Jackson– Our little friend currently rehabbing from his torn Achilles (summer league injury).

Arsalan Kazemi- – Is having some lovely Chinese cuisine, while playing for Chongqing Soaring Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association (Sixers property) .

Nate Wolters- Is out of the league currently and looking for a home

Jrue Holiday– Was having a very nice season until the injury bug caught up to him (again) for Pelicans

Nerlens Noel- Man, oh man, his game is growing.

Furkan Aldemir–   Can be found grabbing rebounds for the Sixers. Sometimes..

Royce White– Last time I seen the dude, he was smoking a “stogie or blunt” at the bar. Well, that’s what his Twitter AVI looks like.

James Anderson- currently plays for  Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian League. Always remembering that 36 point night for the Sixers.

Tim Ohlbrecht- German (Hooray For The Deutschland!!) professional basketball player who currently plays for ratiopharm ulm of the Basketball Bundesliga. When I first goggled him, it came up as “Tim Ohlbrecht Married”. So I guess he’s married too.

Tony Wroten– Take your time healing, my man.

Solomon Alabi-  Out of basketball (I think). Don’t know what else to tell you.

Gani Lawal-  Currently plays for Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League.

Daniel Orton–  This was just report by Matt Lombardo, of NJ.com, the other day:” Former Sixers center Daniel Orton was booted from the Philippine basketball team he was playing for and fined for his unflattering comments about Manny Pacquiao and his attempt to become a professional basketball player”. Good for Daniel.

Elliot Williams- Playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League. He did make the D-League’s All-Star team.

Lorenzo Brown- Last man on the bench for the Minnesota Timberwolves

Dewayne Dedmon–  Playing for Orlando Magic. Some people like him down there

Eric Maynor– Currently playing for Pallacanestro Varese of the Lega Basket Serie A (Italian league). Loved when Hinkie made this move. Then I saw Maynor play (he wasn’t that player I saw on OKC).

Spencer Hawes Playing for L.A Clippers and still annoying fans of the team he plays for.

Earl Clark– Playing for Shandong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association. Think he was a Sixers for less then 24 hours.

Henry Sims-  Kinda like the big guy. Has decent touch, but likely gone soon.

Lavoy Allen–  He has 16.47 PER, for the Pacers. Hey, its above league average.

Evan Turner- Just had his first triple-double for the Celtics. Take that Sixers Fans!!

Danny Granger-  Just got traded to the Phoenix Suns. Hinkie almost convinced him to play at least one game for the Sixers.

Byron Mullens-  “The Legend Of Byron Mullen”. I miss him. Currently plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League.

Jarvis Vanado-  May have had the ugliest shot that the NBA has ever seen. Played decent “D” though. currently plays for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League.

Darius Johnson-Odom– currently plays for Pallacanestro Cantù of the Lega Basket Serie A. He likes Italian food.

James Nunnally- currently plays for Maccabi Ashdod of the Israeli Premier League. Once made an All-Star team in the D-League. So there’s that.

Casper Ware – Summer league legend..currently plays for EWE Baskets Oldenburg of the Basketball Bundesliga (Germany).

Adonis Thomas- currently plays for the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA Development League. I don’t know, what to say now.

Joel Embiid -“The Hope And Dreams” of every Sixers Fan.

Elfrid Payton– Running “Point” for the Magic. Love his hair. Remember that awkward moment when the Sixers drafted him and the camera went straight to MCW’s face?

K.J. McDaniels- Man, I miss him.  Damn you Hinkie..I wonder if KJ’s mom is mad about his playing time with the Rockets?

Jerami Grant- CONTINUES to grow in-front of our eyes.

Hollis Thompson– Love the kid’s “stroke”. His jumper can look very pretty at times.

Robert Covington– I mean, what is not to love? What a find.

Kwame Brown– Technically, not Hinkie, but he did waive him so. Kwame be found at his local bar telling tails of how he taught Andrew Bynum everything he knows.

Jakarr Sampson– Another delightful surprise by Hinkie. Jakarr’s growth has been fun.

Thomas Robinson–  Newest Sixer. He plays angry. Me likey.

Malcolm Thomas– looking for another 10-day contract.

Darius Morris–  Currently playing with the Brooklyn Nets. Well..

Ronald Roberts– A summer league favorite. He was recently released by San Miguel Beermen. Maybe a future 87er again

Malcolm Lee– Hinkie likes Malcolm’s. He plays for the Grand Rapids of the NBA development league

Drew Gordon– currently playing for Delaware 87ers. Yeah, so.

Chris Johnson– The Internet was confused by him, when I was looking him up. Seriously. Playing for Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League

Vander Blue-Currently plays for  Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA development league. Your my boy Blue!!!

Khalif Wyatt– Get my Temple boy back. Come on Hinkie! Don’t give me Ish. Was playing in Israeli for Hapoel Eilat.

Mac Koshwal– Playing for Bakersfield Jam of the NBA D-league.. I don’t even know.

Rodney Williams– Plays for Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA D-League. I remember him being athletic.

Justin Holiday– Plays for Golden State. Chilling on the bench.

Ish Smith– Can we replace him with Tim Frazier again?

Jason Richardson– The only left over from the previous regime. Nice to see J-Rich back on the court.

Russ Smith – currently plays for the Iowa Energy of the NBA Development League (Property of the Grizzlies)

Vasilije Micic –currently plays for FC Bayern Munich of the Basketball Bundesliga (Germany). His rights are the Sixers.

Nemanja Dangubic currently plays for Crvena zvezda of the Serbian League. I don’t know how to pronounce his name.

Dario Saric- Can’t wait for this guy to get over to this side of the “Pond”

Jordan McRae- Just signed with Delaware 87ers after finishing his season in Australia. Interested in seeing him.

Thaddeus Young-  Will always love you Thad.. He’s a Brooklyn Net now.

Luc Mbah a Moute-  Say what you want, LRMAM has been very solid for the Sixers.

Alexey Shved- Liked him in the pick and roll game for the Sixers. Currently shooting the ball into the stands for the Knicks

Hasheem Thabeet.- Currently plays for the Grand Rapids Drive of the NBA Development League. He’s tall..

Keith Bogans– Currently unemployed. Really, don’t know how this guy managed to stay in the NBA for so long.

Marquis Teague – Currently plays for the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA Development League. Good for him.

Arnett Moultrie-  ‘Not my GM” (reference to Hinkie). Is learning Chinese, while playing for Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Travis Outlaw– .Doesn’t have a home. Was literally a Sixer for about 2 hours.

Brandon Davies- One of my favs under the Hinkie regime. He plays for Élan Chalon of the LNB Pro A (France).

Jorge Iván Gutiérrez-, Currently playing for nobody. Love his name though.

Andrei Kirilenko– AK-47. Man, I really would’ve liked to see him in a Sixers uniform. Hinkie seemed to really want this guy to play. LIKE FOR REAL. Went back home to “Mother Russia” to play ball for CSKA Moscow of the VTB United League.

Sergei Lishouk- Playing for Valencia of the Spanish League. THE END..

Ronny Turiaf – Chilling on his couch in Paris. I guess.

Cenk Akyol- This how we GOT JaVale McGee people. Cenk Akyol Nugget now.

Jared Cunningham– Currently playing for the  Delaware 87ers. You should take a trip down I-95 and see him.

Larry Drew- Currently plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Sorry, he’s Larry Drew the “Second”. Apologies.

Tim Frazier- Kinda hope the Sixers sign him again. I always get attached to the oddest players.

Isaiah Canaan- Kid can shoot some..We will see..

Chukwudiebere Maduabum – “ I get knocked down, but I get up again” (Chumbawamba).Sorry, couldn’t help but not reference that song. He plays for Tallinna Kalev (Estonia).

JaVale McGee- His story only began..Then ended….

And I’m spent..

Great article, I enjoy what Hinkie is doing with this team. It makes the NBA draft an exciting time, you can’t try to understand what Hinkie could or will do.

It’s hard not to have the 76ers showing immediate turn around with moving guys left and right, but I’d prefer to not have a season 5-7 games under .500 and make the playoffs and instead grind out another 2 seasons of names that come and go, to be in a position to make a deep playoff push in 2016-2017.

Very interested on what they will do with McRae…will they introduce him to the roster this year?

My under the radar guy is Jerami Grant….if he can develop into a 3 and D guy that will be a BRILLIANT find in the 2nd round. I like him better than KJ McDaniels.

Nerlins Noel continues to impress

He’s growing each and every game

Hes playing like a lottery pick. Rebounds, blocks, steals, points.. Love what I’m seeing

Whats also impressed me is his durability, he doesnt miss games.. (knock on wood)

Since the All-Star break, Nerlens Noel has really started to get things going, averaging 12.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game.
Noel is also shooting 46.4 percent from the field, and a much-improved 75.0 percent from the foul line (a significant jump from the 56.1 percent he shot before the break). He’s managed to stay quite healthy during his rookie year, only missing four of the Sixers’ 61 games so far this season due to injury, and he looks primed to finish his 2014-15 campaign strong after a somewhat slow start to the year.

2 STEALS AND 3.5 BLOCKS PER GAME IS PRETTY GOOD

Noels success has either improved his value as a possible trade chip or solidified his spot as a keeper for the Sixers moving forward

Whats unique about Noel is that hes so heady defensively and has such good speed and quickness, he could guard a SF PF and C in certain sets

I can envision a scenario where the Sixers draft a Center as the 1st pick and they start Noel at SF or at least put him there in certain sets, and have Embiid at PF and out top pick possibly Okafor at C.

That would be a freakish lineup

All nearly if not 7 footers

How would teams score inside?

Lockdown

I want a PG or SG though

Mudiay…
