Report: Jeremy Maclin To Sign With Kansas City Chiefs

JeremyMaclin1Before the 2014 season, DeSean Jackson was released, then a few days ago, LeSean McCoy was traded away to the Buffalo Bills.  Now, it looks like wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is leaving Philadelphia, on his way to Kansas City to play again for Andy Reid.  Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that Maclin will sign with the Chiefs on Tuesday.

Chip Kelly and company had their chance to sign their top wide receiver of 2014 season, but Maclin is said to have asked for $11 million dollars a year, while the Eagles offered him $9 million a year.  It’s no surprise that Reid was in search of wide receiver help because the Chiefs went through the entire 2014 season without their wide receivers catching one touchdown.

Maclin will playing in offense which he knows very well and he’ll be returning home to the state of Missouri, where he grew up and went to college.

Well that’s been my prediction for awhile, so I’m not that surprised. I figured Reid would make a go at him considering how badly they need WRs out there.

Mac is good and will be missed but this team is rebuilding it’s core and a 10+mil WR is a luxury. I hate to see him go but felt it coming for a week. problem is we will need draft picks to rebuild the offense.

How are they “rebuilding” the core by adding 31 year old RBs and re-signing absolutely terrible quarterbacks?

I understand the Maclin thing..(not sure I like it, but I understand it) .its just following the Patriot model. Never pay for “skill” offensive players.

But if they are following the Patriot way, they’re not going to trade for Mariotta. Belichick would never trade up like that.

I do not understand the Gore signing, and I hate the Sanchez signing – he cannot throw a ball to any Eagle more than 15 yards downfield.

Bellichick has his franchise QB by luck…drafting a 6 round Brady. Every move Chip makes can not and will not mirror Bellichick, bottomline he has to get that QB. The Sanchez move is simple..he will be a steward for the offense until Chip’s QB is ready. It’s not difficult to understand. Elliot Schorr Parks just said on Fox sports Chip is prepared to pay a premium of draft picks to move up. It’s only hard to understand if you can’t fathom Chip not wanting Nick..which is clear to me that he does not..that is why Sanchez just got paid and Nick is twiddling his thumbs.

Listen,

If the play is for Mariotta, and the Eagles have to trade away players/picks/whatever it is….after they pay that, there is no way on the planet Mariotta doesn’t start first play of the first game.

Foles or Mariotta, Sanchez is on the bench next year

Foles is done…why would Foles accept making less money than Sanchez? If they are keeping Foles they have resign him to a long term deal. The reality is that Chip thinks Sanchez is at least as good as Foles if not better.
Foles is getting traded or cut

Fool ass…he certainly can be cut if no one really wants him in a trade or believes that he is the answer at QB.. If he is traded he has to be signed to a long term deal if his agent is worth a damm…The question is simple…do the teams that need a QB really value Nick Foles enough to give you anything in a trade-a bunch of ass-upmptions have been thrown around saying that Foles and the 20th pick can move you up significantly….I’m not sure about that…I’ll believe it when I see it…

Its clear Nick Foles has been left twisting in the wind…he hasn’t been promised the starting job, no new contract in the year that he’s eligible for one…and Chip has signed the guy that he likes- Sanchez- to a new two year deal while Foles if he isnt traded will be coming into camp with no new deal, having to fight for consideration for a starting job…
I think Chip likes Sanchez over Foles…follow the money…

I am not assuming anything. I do not know if he can throw deep or not.

I do know I haven’t seen him throw a deep ball.

I also know that he didn’t throw deep (much) at Oregon. I mean didn’t you watch any Oregon games the last couple years? Once Kelly arrived? Just to see what its all about?

Mariotta throws (threw) a bazillion one-read quick hitters every game. Sometimes rushing up to the LOS and throwing the exact same throw to the exact same guy standing in the exact same spot (usually within 5 of the LOS) 3 or 4 plays in a row. And then every now and then a play action “bomb” which was more like a 30 yard lob to a wide open guy because all the DBs “bit”

Can he throw a deep ball? I’m not assuming anything. I just haven’t seen it.

History once again is being re-written…Foles has suddenly become this great deep ball thrower

Bull!

Mariota’s arm is as good if not slightly better than Foles…he can make all the throws and in this offense he can make the same easy dump offs and screen passes that Nick made…and he can throw on the run much better than Foles…better footwork, more agility and mobility…a lot more intelligent

The Eagles have no receivers that can get deep so it’s a moot point.

Mariota can throw deep balls and he can run, but that’s it and that’s not even 10% of any NFL playbook.
