Eagles Re-Sign Mark Sanchez

sanchezApparently, Chip Kelly hasn’t had enough of Mark Sanchez.

The Eagles have reportedly agreed to terms with Sanchez on a new two-year deal worth over $9.5 million.

Sanchez went  4-4 in eight starts with the Eagles last year, starting the second half of the season for the injured Nick Foles.

The move takes the Eagles out of the running for a veteran backup quarterback.

Being reported Maclin is signing with the Chiefs, below is what I posted the other day, saw this coming a mile away

andrew p
March 5, 2015 – 12:46 pm

Now it’s being reported the Chiefs are trying to trade Bowe and will release him if they can’t, that’s now their third starting receiver they released, the writing is on the wall, Maclin will be going home to play for the coach who drafted him, bank on it!

And that kills all the momentum of free agency, the offense as currently constructed sucks and has nobody to make plays downfield for Mariota or Foles. Maclin read them tea leaves after Sanchez signed and said see ya!!!!!

Snag in discussions with eagles

Huge loss losing Maclin

Deal was done but Maclin keeps asking for more money. Today has always been the deadline for maclin and eagles

Eagles switching from a offensive minded team to a defensive minded team right before our eyes

Relying more on offensive scheme to get it done over talent and gonna let the defense dominate giving them chance after chance..

This wont work long term. You have to score TDs in this league..

Ok.

So far given the 5th highest contract for a CB ever. Is a guy who sat on the bench for 2 seasons and has 17th career starts with 6 ints the 5th best corner?

A big pile of $$ to a 31 yr old RB who cannot have a lot of tread left on the tires.

And now this….re-sign a QB that absolutely no Eagle fan ever wants to see on the field ever again. One who cannot throw a ball more than 15 yards – unless its to the other team.

Maclin was nothing but a number two receiver and it’s gonna show in that weak offense he’s going to, anyone we put on that side of the field is putting up those numbers, Chip did it in his first two years with two different guys, he gets Tory smith, percy Harvin, trade with the Bucs for V Jackson or whoever their gonna give us the same production, I can’t believe how people are panicking over it, if Chip wanted him he would be here, the guy wasn’t worth the money he was asking for.

You have to get Percy or Wallace at this point. Somebody has to be able to take the top off the defense and although I always thought maclin was a softy he could at least do that. He had real speed. Cant get it done currently with what we have right now

Those complaining about maxwell…tell me this….who else would you want covering dez, djack, and ODB, even if we had to overpay the third most important position in football

Those complaining about maclin…. Go look at his numbers pre chip before you argue that we should have broke the bank to keep him.

People are complaining for the sake of complaining today.

Door still isnt closed on Maclin

The Eagles will continue open communication with Maclins agent

As I mentioned, their plan was to have a deal done by today

McCourty is currently weighing all his options. Those big money options are a return back to the Pats, sign with Eagles or sign with Giants

“It’s also hard to imagine the Eagles would pay Sanchez that much money to keep him off the market if they didn’t think he would either be a.) their starter opening day of 2015; b.) the perfect mentor for Mariota; or c.) all of the above”

Idiot.

Mark Sanchez will not be “mentoring” anyone.

Marc Sanchez will be the backup QB.

The Eagles, after giving up the farm for MM will be starting him play 1 of game 1. No team gives up what they’re going to have to give up and then sits a guy on the bench.

So I don’t know why you’re jumping for joy about the Sanchez signing, as he will be backing up no matter who the QB is…………

Oh wait…..do you see this as some sort of validation for your pathetically incorrect “Sanchez is better!” claims 6 months back.

I mean, without a doubt, those were the stupidest GCOBB statements made in the last couple years and you must still be embarrassed by them.

Of all the young qb’s floating around out there without a home or with big question marks with their team who would you rather have? remember lots of these guys were first rounders:
Foles, G. Smith, Manuel, Ponder, Bradford, Dalton (i guess he is secure), Krap, stafford—I know there are more but I can’t think of now– but point is the QB position is tricky as hell–

my rankings today of that list

1 – dalton
2 – stafford
3 – foles – wanted to put foles 2 but last year was real bad
4 – krap
5 – bradford
6 – geno
7 – manual

that is a fair enough list–
stafford hasn’t done much — he had the best defender in the history of the nfl (according to idiots) and arguably the best receiver in the game and really hasn’t lit it up…

Maclin will be getting paid 11mil a year by the chiefs

Like ive been saying maclin wanted between 10-12mil

I said the eagles just dont think hes worth that kind of money. 9mil was where they got to and no further and quite frankly I don’t blame them

Time to move on without this fragile injury prone wr

We need someone bigger, more physical and durable

Are you absolutely sure this is the case? I believe the rule has a “sources” caveat.

If said plagiarism comes from a mythical “source” the plagiarism is rendered moot.

March 9, 2015 10:42 am

well he should have said, “shorr-parks is saying, ‘Im hearing that Nick Foles has been being shopped all this past season and this past senior bowl'” then it wouldn’t have been plagarism
he needs to incorporate “i heard FROM’ or “so and so is saying” and then use quotation marks to denote that it is not an original idea– something like that!

Just saw that — Supposedly QB Brian Hoyer was in the Mix at Houston..
I am not sure anyone is sold on Ryan Mallet being the #1 QB in Houston just yet… He’s started what, 3 Games .. Foles could still be in Play

The Bears may be a Darkhorse Trading Partner for Foles
The Bears Owe $15 Million to Cutler per his Guarantee this Season regardless, but they also have a $10 Million Roster Bonus if Cutler is still on the Roster March 10th
We could see a move where Bears Eat the $15 Million, Release Cutler and Trade for Foles to start anew under New GM Starke & HC Fox
Bears have the 7th Pick in the 2nd Round (#39 Overall) that could be the Deal or possibly or maybe a Big Deal with the Jets at #6 Overall

Safety Postion – I like Raheem Moore since he play for the New DC Coach
also like Marcus Gilchrist of Chargers and Da’Norris Searcy of the Bills if Moore goes elsewhere (Indy is hot after him as are other Teams)

CB – Still Like Culliver of 49ers, House from Packers who appear to want to resigin him or Buster Skrine of Cleveland… Tramon WIlliams from Packers could be a Short-Term Upgrade
