Mark Sanchez Expects To Get A Shot At Starting Job

Mark SanchezIn an interview with Rob Ellis of Breakfast On Broad,  Mark Sanchez let us know that he expects to get a shot at the starting quarterback position.  In the interview with Ellis, Sanchez didn’t reveal why he expected to get a shot at the starting job or who told he would get a shot. You have to assume that Chip Kelly told him that.

Although many Eagles fans disagree with him, Kelly likes Sanchez as his quarterback and he’s made moves to show it.  I don’t know that Sanchez is going to be the starter, but if Kelly has to go with Sanchez as his starting quarterback, he seems to have no problem with it.  Obviously, that’s why he resigned him.

It seems that Kelly liked what he saw on the tape of Sanchez as compared to what he saw of Nick Foles. He never spoke glowingly of Foles, but he has had great things to say about Sanchez.

Anybody in their right mind has to know that there’s a chance that Sam Bradford may get injured again.  After all, he’s been injured the last two seasons. You would only trade for a guy like Bradford, if you felt good about your other quarterback.  Remember Kelly has always said you need at least two quarterbacks in the National Football League.  To sign Sanchez to a two-year deal says Kelly is confident in Sanchez stepping in there and doing the job.

On opening day of the regular season, Bradford will probably be the starter, but there’s no guarantee of that.  The former Rams quarterback has already let it be known that he’s going to take his time coming back from his ACL injury.  The last time he went down with an ACL tear, which was in the 2013 season, he rushed back and wound up not even making it to the 2014 regular season action.

Back to Sanchez, there aren’t many backups quarterback in the NFL that are better than him.  Remember he was one of the top picks in the draft when he came out of school and he took two New York Jets teams to AFC Championship games.

The Eagles had the worse secondary in the National Football League a year ago, yet Sanchez had them at the doorstep of the playoffs.  Remember they had the lead against the Dallas Cowboys in the second half, but couldn’t stop Tony Romo and Dez Bryant.

Sanchez had a 88.4 quarterback rating in 2014 with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.  The picks he threw were at the worst of times and he must improve in the area.

Last year was also Sanchez first season in Chip Kelly’s system.  He may be able to improve on his performance in 2015 and that’s why Kelly signed him.  Sanchez has been able to move the ball in Kelly’s offense, but the turnovers have really hurt.

I find it hilarious that now peter king is saying that there was never even an offer for MM– that essentially the Titans put out a ‘Not for Sale” sign…. meanwhile last week he and all the others were generating BS story after BS story– I can make this promise…next year at draft time I’m turning my computer off– what a bunch of crap! The evil empire is always in the news…

The Titans didn’t want the Eagles farm…it wasn’t worth it to the Titans.

The Eagles didn’t have any high draft picks

I’d sell the farm for Tom Brady but that doesn’t mean New England will give him up

“In Sanchize, We Trust”
I stated most of the Off-Season that Mark Sanchez will likely be the Opening Day Starter and I still stand by that for I don’t believe that Bradford will be ready to go until late September/October

Chip had made sound decisions in the parameters of what he has available to him. Sanchize is a bum…but he’s better than Foles…
Chip saw the film, he knows the Qb’s responsibilities on each play…his decision is sound. I dont think he will start over Bradford…Bradford has a stronger arm, smarter and does not turn the ball over like Sanchez..

Does anyone remember game 2 of the Sanchize experience last year.

Carolina…Early second and Sanchize lobs one of his patented 15 yrd floaters that Matthews grabs and gets pulverized. Then about 5 plays later another patented 15 yrd floater again to Matthews. Touchdown this time, but Matthews lay on the carpet for a couple minutes after getting destroyed for the second time in a row,

Good times.

And from that moment on teams just sat on those 15 yard lobs. 9 ints over the next 8 games and his yrds/catch dropped steadily as he got more and more scared.

He quit before the GB and Seattle games had even started, and was pretty much single handedly responsible for the Dallas and Wsh wins.

What did he win? The Dallas game when they didn’t practice and against the NYG who had quit before the game began (as the Eagles should have)

He’s terrible.

I don’t give a shit what Chip Kelly says or thinks because if he thinks Sanchez can be a starter in the NFL….then he is wrong.

I dont remember that game Vinnie…but I damm sure remember that Dallas game with Nick Foles…

The worst Quarterback play I have ever seen from a professional Quarterback

Shook, nervous scared was Nick Foles

I remember the critical San Francisco game last year where a scared, nervous Nick Foles couldn’t see the open receivers running all over the field

Foles quit in that crucial game throwing the ball over Maclin’s head -not even giving him a chance to make a play…scared, nervous about throwing an interception-so what did he do?

He threw ball up in the stands a big loss for us

Back foot throws, confused, bogging the offense down by consistently missing wide open receivers down the field.

GCobb is right

“It seems that Kelly liked what he saw on the tape of Sanchez as compared to what he saw of Nick Foles. He never spoke glowingly of Foles…”

Guess why he never spoke ‘glowingly of Foles’…

Foles sucks

I wish we had Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Russell Wilson

Too bad we dont…Bradford and Sanchez are the best options available

Bottom Line!

Of course you don’t remember that game…you brain was still flooded with Dopamine over your irrational and over the top desire to see Sanchez on the field. Clouded your vision.

You were still in the midst of writing your 378th “Sanchez is great” post that weak.

Well done bringing up “Dallas game” again though….you’re nothing if not repetitive and consistent.

16th post this week about Foles…. And 8 more “Foles” mentions.

What does that make it? 78th time you’ve typed his name this week?

Keep it rolling!

Big..my QB’s for 2016 draft I would like to see on the Eagles:

1. Jared Goff- California Golden Bears 6’4″ 215

2. Cardale Jones- Ohio State Buckeyes 6’5″ 250

3. Christian Hackenberg- Penn State Nitanty Lions 6’4″ 234

4. Connor Cook- Michigan State Spartans 6’4″ 218

5. Patrick Towels Univ of Kentucky Wild Cats 6’5″ 238

If Bradford can’t stay healthy, the Eagles will be like the Sixers before they started tanking, too good to get a franchise QB, but not good enough to get beyond the first round of the playoffs, i.e. not good enough!

I think he is a bigger Randall Cunningham, with the speed, more weight, and more accuracy with the same gun.

He will be criticized like all rookies but, I think the fans won’t think twice about Mariota if the Eagles drafted him, and he had the opportunity to be coached, and developed by Chip Kelly.

Just like I mentioned Jaylean Strong, and La’al Collins in last years draft, as potential players, I’m also identifying:

Brissett,
Tony Connor Safety/ CB of Ole Miss
Scooby Wright OLB of Arizona,
LeRaven Clark OT/OG of Texas Tech,
Emmanuel Ogbah OLB of Oklahoma State
Darnell Sankey OLB of Sacramento State
Tyler Boyd WR of Pitt
MarQueze North WR of Tennessee
and Vadar Alexander Guard from LSU as well….

This is the logical sequence of Information and People Hacking…

Bradford in contract talks…(Chip has a price in mind but Bradford wants to negotiate as the clear starter)

Leak that Sanchez has a shot to win the job (true only if Bradford is broken)

Continue with negotiations with Bradford (Sign him to slightly more than Chip want’s but less than Bradford wants)

Bradford and Agent Hacked (Slightly Lowered Price Tag)

Sanchez Hacked (Believes he has a shot incase he has to play)

Fans Hacked ( We are all relieved to have Bradford Starting Game 1 vs The Sanchize)

Minimum-
12 to 15 mil a year for 5 to 7 years with escalators for performance.
Will contain “outs” for team after 2 or3 years.
20 to 30 Mil G money over 2-3years

More than likely it will be a 100+Mil deal advertised (like Vick signed)
