It Will Be Tim Tebow vs. Matt Barkley Tomorrow

TebowandBarkley1I know the Eagles are going to be playing the Indianapolis Colts tomorrow, but the most important competition taking place at Lincoln Financial Field tomorrow is Matt Barkley versus Tim Tebow for the team’s third quarterback spot.   Mark Sanchez will start, but he’s only going to play a series or two, then you’ll see Barkley take over. He’ll likely play the second-half of the first quarter and the entire second quarter.  Tebow will take over at the start of the second half or more likely at some point during the third quarter.

Barkley has improved as a quarterback and I think you’ll see that tomorrow.  He makes his reads very quickly and gets the ball out of his hands.  His arm has gotten noticibly stronger during his time here.  I expect him to play well because he knows this offense very well and he will be going against young defensive players, who will be playing in a simple scheme.  His group should be up and down the field.

When it comes to practice success, Barkley has been much better than Tebow, but we all know Tebow has the X-factor ability that Chip Kelly is in love with.  He can run.

I think Barkley is probably playing for a job somewhere else.  All the coaches and GM’s around the NFL are going to see this tape, so Barkley needs to play the way he’s been practicing and he’ll have him a job regardless of what happens here.

Tebow on the other hand is playing for a job here in Philadelphia.  I don’t think any of the other coaching staffs value him like the Eagles.

“Tim is a little bit of a gamer,” offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said earlier this week. “These team settings which are a little bit uncontrolled, he gets out there and makes plays. And we’ve seen great improvements in him from his ability to execute our offense. Then he’s got that skill set where if it’s not right, he’s willing to take off and run, and when he’s running with it, he’s like a running back.”

Tebow is sure to pull the ball down and take off with it during his time in there as the Birds quarterback. If he executes his throws properly, he will do well and the Eagles offense will move the football.  They’re sure to let him execute some options  to give him a chance to run the football or hand it off.  This will give Tebow the chance to use his running ability.

I wouldn’t be surprised if things get sloppy with Tebow in there and it won’t be all his fault.

He’s going to play in the third and fourth quarters, which is usually sloppy time in the NFL during preseason games because you really don’t have 22 NFL players on the field.  You will have offensive linemen moving before the snap and blowing assignments.  You will defensive linemen jumping off sides.  At the same time there will be skill position players making mistakes.   This makes it difficult for a quarterback to look good in these situations.

Regardless of what happens, Tebow will influence more fans to stay in their seats for the entire game.

The Colts/Eagles Game will be aired on NFL Channel Live though it looks like
A Backup Bowl type of Game with many Eagles Stsrters sitting out, which is good for the backups to see more snaps as well as letting the already banged up Stsrters more time to heal…

A Team Desperate for a decent Back-up is the Steelers as Landry Jones has looked terrible in both the Steelers Games thus far and could be interested in a Barkley if he were to play well… The Bears are another Team in need of Backup QB Depth

A lot of Games so far in Week #1 were pretty High Scoring Games (Mid 20’s – Low 30’s) so I don’t want to read about any excuses about the Eagles playing backups as most Teams are in Week #1
This is a perfect example for Kelly to prove “His System over Talent”

The Bills Tyrod Taylor would have been perfect fit with the Eagles..
He will end up as their Starter over Matt Cassell..RB Bryce Brown looking good also running the ball…

Cowboys 2 Young Receivers WR Devin Street & TE Gavin Escobar had big Games vs the Chargers, I expect the both of the to have big Seasons in 2015 as most Teams coverages are focusing on Dez Bryant & TE Witten
Escobar is like Ertz is with the Eagles where he’s a pass-catcher and not a Traditional In-Line TE who blocks..

Seahawks Rookie Tyler Lockette had a big Game for the Seahawks with Soeed,speed,speed..Teams are going to regret passing over him, he Returned a Kick-Off 107 Yards for TD,Caught a few passes, ran a couple of reverses and will be used by the Seahawks like they did with Percy Harvin before he went off the deep end… He was very impressive

Here’s hoping that Barkley has a great game, showcases his stuff and then can garner something in a trade to the QB needy teams around the league like the Jets, Bills, Skins, Bears, Browns, 49ers, or Bucs.

Nick Foles played 2 Series, which led to a FG and was 3-5 for 69 Yards with No Turnovers and sacked 1 Time for 14 Yard Loss for a QB Rating of 104

Mariota played 3 Series. 1 Fumble, 1 Int & 1 TD Pass and was 7-8 for 98 Yards and 1 Sack for 11 Yard Loss with a QB Rating of 76….

Was thinking what if….everything goes right .What might that look like in 2015. Chippinochio has stepped to the proverbial NFL dice table and he’s on one of those in the zone rolls of a lifetime..He has pushed all his proverbial “chips” into the middle, and as 2015 unfolds, those chips are now out of reach.Lets assume he is prescient ,and everything has his “Midas touch”. In no such order of importance ,Sam I Am ,can ..He has a swagger that hasn’t been seen in his pat ,he commands this offense like no other ..Murray punishes defenses, pound and ground and misdirection pass plays ,are the norm .sproles leaking into mismatched coverages .The red zone offense with read option plays with tebow are indeed a weapon .All the moving new pieces on defense seemlessly transitional into a front seven that creates havoc .The backend with its size and techniques jams and plays physical football.Itsnot bend and break but ground and pound ,just as it is on theotherside of the ball..With Murray now a two headed monster with another downhill pro bowler in Matthews.I believe chip will look to lighten murrays load after he was ridden by Jerry jones like an abused mule and a lot of Matthews will be featured..I love the quote when looking back after the deal ,chip said “we picked up kilo and money” after the McCoy trade .well we also picked up two pro bowl running backs with that dough. And Lesean was great ,but with Sam and a running game the Eagles have and will IF Chip rolls 7s …be a new personality on both sides of the ball ,and special teams picking up there usual quality play ,an interesting 3 pronged attack..IF health prevails ..question marks abound in Murray ,Matthews. Sam I am ,Kiki,demeco,ertz..if all there jerseys are still on the Xmas racks ..keep rolling them bones ..

Bears Top Pick WR Kevin White to have Surgery on his Left Shin and is expected to miss the first 6 Weeks of the Season and possibly the entire Season.. Some People think that with all the workouts that White has done in the with the Pre-Draft workouts, Indy Combine,WVU Work Day and thenWorkouts for Teams that White has come up with “Shin-Splints” from over exertion…

A couple of Jaguars looking good vs the Steelers are TE Clay Harbor and WR Aurellious Benn who hopefully can stay healthy

Ravens Rookie DT Carl Davis was unblockable last evening and a perfect fit for the Ravens and was a Steal in this Draft a stage Ravens Selected him #90th Overall (3rd Round ad 6 Picks after the Eagles Selected LB J Hicks

if Benn and Harbor looked good in the pass games does that mean Brandon Boykins didn’t?

The Steelers Secondary looked poor as a whole and I didn’t even see Boykin out there .. I missed first 6 -8 minutes of the Game
Boykin shows no activity on the Stats Line so maybe he was injured and didn’t play..

I dont care for mariota he plays for titans who could be the worse team in nfl……..rotoworld said he was sacked twice and that oline of rams were getting pushed back…..which means classic foles throwing off his back foot…….I guarantee if the rams offense will be at the bottom of league they have nothing
