The Philadelphia Phillies won the first game of their series with the Mets 6-2, their record improves to 65-95.

On The Mound

  • Ben Lively threw six innings, giving up six hits and two runs, both on solo homers.
  • Adam Morgan pitched a scoreless seventh.
  • Luis Garcia got the team through the eighth.
  • Edubray Ramos mopped up in the ninth.

At The Plate

  • The offense put up six runs on 10 hits.
  • The bats generated three home runs, a two-run shot from Maikel Franco in the second, and solo shots from Cesar Hernandez and Jorge Alfaro in the sixth.
  • Hernandez finished 1-3 with a walk.
  • Freddy Galvis went 1-3 with a single and a walk.
  • Nick Williams went 2-4 with a couple of singles.
  • Rhys Hoskins went 1-4 with a single.
  • Odubel Herrera went 2-3 and drove in a run.
  • Alfaro also doubled to go with his homer.
