Eagles Fans Sound Off On Andy Reid And The Eagles

Some of the loyal readers of GCobb.com had some strong but thoughtful statements about Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles after the NFC and AFC Championship games this past Sunday. Steelers young coach Mike Tomlin hasn’t been in his job five years.  Packers coach Mike McCarthy got his job in January of 2006

Is it time for a change at the Eagles head coaching position?  You make the call.

Comments from BTC24:

jroc, it’s all about philosophy. The Steelers embody EVERYTHING that the Eagles don’t; hard nosed football with a nasty defense who can also pound the rock. The Eagles are a friggin card trick. Always going for the homerun. I hate the Steelers and their bandwagon fans but Eagles an Co need to be taking notes from the Steelers on the other side of the state. I don’t see how Andy Reid can watch what the Steelers do every year and then think his philosophy has a chance.

Comments from JRoc757:

1) Mike Tomlin has been coaching for the Steelers since 2007 and he is going to the Super Bowl twice out of his 3 years as head coach………
2) Mike McCarthy has a short career tenure at GB with hurt players……. And they seem to find away to get it done and make it to the Super Bowl……
3) Coach Rex Ryan is a very well liked coach by his players and other players who dont even play for him…….. He took a young QB to two AFC championship games and beat two of the most recognizable QB’s in the league……… 4) Why do these short lived coaches seem to put things together and have success in there careers at such a fast pace…….. Why does a 12year coach not have his stuff together to take this team to the next level????? It’s been 12 years and if you add there total amount of years compared to Andy Reid as head coach…….. It’s perhaps less than what Andy’s time at the Head Coaching spot……. CHANGE MUST COME……. It should have been the EAGLES vs. STEELERS game!!!!!! JUST MAKES ME SICK…

Comments From Paulman:

Eagles will never Win a CHampionship/Super Bowl with Coach AR at the helm for the following reasons

#1) Team is built with small, fast players with overall lack of strength and toughness
#2) Offense Philosophy is to pass, pass, pass in a Northeastern City which has bad weather conditions
every Dec/Jan during crunch and playoff time..
#3) The “Linc’s atmosphere and intimidation sucks compared to the Vet.No teams are intimindated to come in and play there.. (the fans have a large responsibilty for this too)
#4) The Team, players and coaches are a reflection of their HC and to be very blunt, Coach AR is too nice of a guy to be a winning Coach in the NFL… You have to have a little mean streak, a little craziness..a little kick ass, take no prisoners attitude and Coach Reid is just not that way…
Like the old adage says, ” Nice Guys finish last” abd while Coach AR has been succesfil in winning games and making the playoffs consistently, he is lacking that killer instinct to complete the job

Comments from Paulman:

It’s become too “Sterile” of a Franchise and Team which is a reflection of it’s Coach and Leader (AR)
in fact, it’s become so business as usual,so everything is under control and rationalized that it has seeped into the fan base and to the stadium crowds,,,Football is a man on man sport, raw emotion,
and yes, sometimes mistakes and over-reactions occur.. but this Eagles team over the last 4-5 years has lost that emotional energy, that special karma that big advantage The Eagles use to have when Visitors traveled to Philadelphia to play the Eagles..
Now they have simply become another NFL average, ho-hum Football team where players come and go and everyone is happy to have a job and a sold out stadium every game … Where’s the risk takers, the players and coaches who live and play on the edge, who’ll do anything to win a Championship.. Those days are long over and won’t be returning with the crew that’s running the organization now where they all are worried about public perception, poliitcal correctness, the bottom line as far as finances go, not Championships…

Comments from Jundabus:

@jroc…I first want to state that I agree with you that a change in philosophies is needed and agree that maybe that means a change in head coach. Have always liked Reid, but when the same questions and problems come up year after year it makes you wonder. Having said that, you mentioned the early successes of Tomlin, McCarthy, and Ryan compared to Reid. I can’t argue Tomlin’s success. I’m not going to do the research but I am sure there aren’t many coaches in history that have had as much early success as he has. But how can you suggest Reid didn’t “put things together and have success in (his) career at such a fast pace?” In his first 6 seasons the Eagles went to the playoffs 5 times, reached the NFC Championship game 4 times, and the Super Bowl once. No, they did not win, but Green Bay has not won yet either. It has been since the Super Bowl that Reid hasn’t had as much success. Green Bay could very well win in two weeks and then I will give you McCarthy in addition to Tomlin. But not yet. They could lose and McCarthy could end up having more difficulty over the next 5 years just as Reid has had. The same goes for Rex. He has been to 2 AFC Championship games. Isn’t that considered a failure here in Philly? Players love playing for him, but players also love playing for Reid. It’s just the media and us fans that get tired of him. I’m not saying Reid is the answer. I’ll be the first to admit we need to consider a change. But I just don’t think we should be so quick to forget all the success he has had here.

I have stated this from the very first time I posted on this site…Its nice to see the rest of Eaglesnation has finally seen the light for years # 5 was the scapegoat here but the truth was AR’s philosophy it what was really killing the Eagles. Time and Time again I have called for change/removal of this idiotic philosophy and people thought I was I was frustrated but in reality if you keep seeing the same team go superbowl after superbowl (Steelers) you have to step back say maybe this Talongrip dude has a point. This football team will never win a SB as long as AR is in control NUFF SAID.

One more point if # 7 decides to stay or is franchised he too will take a beating due to this idiotic philosophy which doesnt have hot reads or check downs…Put all this together with the fact that this moron (AR) doesnt even make a serious attempt to run the football spells disaster for # 7. Look at what NYG, GB and Minn did to this philosophy…AR and his staff had no answers. This is why this philosophy needs an athletic style QB. Why do you think # 4 isnt successfull in this garbage???? FIRE ANDY REID NOW !!!!

All good point Reid must go. His philosophy doesn’t work. Remember those old Chargers teams with Dan Fouts. They would score a million points bwin their divisions then lost in the playoffs. Back in the late 80 and early 90s although we didnt win anything teams were scared to play us because we were big physical and as paulman said the Vet was intimidating. I personally miss those teams just because they were some bad asses. Now we are a bunch of candy asses. Assante Samuel I believe is the only player on our defense to get fined for necessary roughness. Now that sums it all up in my eyes.

The draft is a big part of the Steelers success, they don’t seem to have any problem reloading when they lose players to free agency. The Eagles don’t get good players in the draft to begin with. We waste picks on guys who were injured in college, and speedy undersized players.
I think the front office is starting to realize the Reid has taken this team as far as he can. It will be difficult to cut ties with him as long as they make the playoffs every year, but I think next year may be his last if he doesn’t win a playoff game.

Everyone talks about how small and fast the Eagles players are. I don’t thing they have as much speed on defense as they are given credit for. Just say small and marginal and unable to get off blocks.

I don’t want to hear the “it took Bill Cower 14 years” crap anymore.

The “Peter Principle” has played itself out here. This coach may have done some good things, won alot of games, installed a system that can be sucessful against inferior teams consistantly, many good things….but he has taken us as far as he can.

We should have made the move last year and gotten rid of both coach & qb.

It is time to move on from Reid as coach of this team and director of football. The team across the state has been to (8) Superbowls and won (6), I want that for my team. I am tired of defending my team against other fanbases, when the truth is, we NEVER win the big one. We ALWAYS lose in the end.

I have liked Andy over the years, and I also believe he has done many good things…but much like McNabb, his time has past. For the best of the team it is time to change. Reid may in one in the future, but the odds are against him here. IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE.

LMAO @ ozzman ” Assante Samuel I believe is the only player on our defense to get fined for necessary roughness ”
And he’s supposed to be to shy away from contact dude…..
I think Lurie and the gang were fooled by the early success that Reid has had , he racked up wins and Jeff was going straight to the bank ….business was GOOD…No worries Mon….
Also I think somebody mentioned tradition…..well this team currently has no tradition ..Nothing….I think Andy should have modeled the Buddy / Ray Rhoades years of defense and said hey I want this team to be that ” A FEARED HARD HITTING DEFENSE ” If nothing else the EAGLES will always have a A FEARED HARD HITTING DEFENSE…No he changed us into a finesse team…The Reason Mike Tomlin is going to his 2nd superbowl in 4 years and is successful is because he didn’t change anything he just kept getting tough physical players

the eagles are built for a race. They are small, fast, “high motor”, high character guys. That is great for a few games a year. But, to win in the playoffs you have to be built for a dog fight. Big, strong, nasty players. That’s why pittsburgh, baltimore, ny giants are teams that are always in it. There’s not a single player that I see as mean on this team. Gone are the Runyans, Tra Thomas’, Andre Waters types. We have all greyhounds on the team…Its time to get some PITBULLS!

green, I’m with you man. I wrote it yesterday what Ike Reese pointed out. And for anyone who missed it…. Every coach except Cowher that has won the Super Bowl has done it in less than 5 years on the team they won it with. Cowher was certainly the exception going as long as he did. But most coaches win quickly IF they win at all. And Reid’s best shot was his first 5 years. With McNabb in his prime, a stout and aggressive defense. Boy if he would have only gotten receivers sooner. But right now, the odds are against him.

My issue has always been Reid riding the coat tails of Jim Johnson and Ray Rhodes roster. Dawkins, Hugh Douglas, Trotter, Hollis Thomas, Ike Reese, Troy Vincent, Al Harris, and Bobby Taylor were all guys Rhodes drafted or brought in through free agency. Reid lived off their success for the first part of his career and most of those NFC championships. When it was up to Reid to replace these parts, it was never done properly. Their drafting for defensive players to replace Rhodes players went like this:

Dawkins: Macho Harris, Quintin Demps, Sean Considine, Michael Lewis, Matt Ware, Quintin Mikell. Speaks for itself. Not one player remians on the roster…and Mikell is the best of a bad group and should not be re-signed.

Hugh Douglas/Brandon Whiting: Trent Cole, Bryan Smith, Victor Abiamiri, Jevon Kearse, Juqua Parker. Cole is the best player of this bunch (they got lucky in rd. 5) and is usually is invisible by December.

Trotter: Barry Garder (2nd rd. pick), Mark Simoneau, Stewart Bradley. Two busts and a very average player who can’t stay healthy.

Hollis Thomas: Mike Patterson, Broderick Bunkley, Travis Laws. Both are busts for 1st round picks. Laws on his best days is just average and definitely not worthy of a 2nd rd. pick

Troy Vincent: Lito Sheppard. Had two good seasons, but never healthy and really not worth a first round pick.

Bobby Taylor: Sheldon Brown. Not really sure why he wasn’t on the roster for ’10, but would you rather have had him or Hobbs/Patterson? I’m sure we’ll get a gem with the CLE 5th rounder.

Al Harris: Rod Hood, Joselio Hanson. Can’t blame them for letting Hood go, but signing an undrafted FA corner who can’t play even a little to $5 mill/year? Brilliant.

Ike Reese: Keith Adams, Akeem Jordan, Omar Gaither. Undersized turds who couldn’t make most NFL rosters.

Carlos Emmons: Quintin Caver, Chris Gocong, Dhani Jones. Seriously?

That doesn’t even count the epic failures on offense like Shawn Andrews, Stacy Andrews, LJ Smith,
Tony Hunt, Jeremy Bloom, Reggie Brown, Ryan Moats, Billy McMullen, Freddie Mitchell, and Todd Pinkston.

Now I understand no one hits on 100% of their draft picks or free agent signings, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that when Reid & Co were forced to replace Rhodes players is when this defense went from an always top 5 defense to the joke it is now. Undersized and completely soft. 1st and 2nd round picks are supposed to be starters. 3rd/4th rounders are supposed to be situational players and fill in’s in case of injury. 7th round picks and undrafted free agents should not even make the roster, let alone start….under any circumstances,

This goes all the way to the scouting department and front office talent evaluators. Will they ever be held accountable and/or restructured? I’ve never liked Reid’s coaching or philosophy, but it’s impossible to win championships with player evaluation like this….

Good points DanFan…..who on this team sacres the opposition? We have some good threats on offense…but who on our defense does the opponent say they need to gameplan against? Maybe Cole & Assante?? But does Cole really put fear into an offensive coordinator anymore? I think Assante puts fear into QB’s, but teams have shown that they can avoid throwing to his side on certain patterns and just run bubble screens at his side to get guarenteed yardage.

We have lost any sense of a swagger to this team….yeah I miss the days of Seth, Andre, Reggie and Dawk….we need to regain a defense that takes a toll on everyone they play…right now we are too finessed…too soft and focused and being smarter instead of being more physical.

January 25, 2011 9:42 am

G, we will not put fear in other teams as long as we don’t have physical players on the defense and not running the ball makes your offensive lineman have to play to the strengths of the pass rushers. How about having your lineman knock the other guys around. D lineman, especially DEs hate defending the run. If you constantly have the tackle knocking him around, he get worn out and then you set up your passing. Too much finesse football on both sides. We have no toughness at all.

Great stuff mjacobs..and agree with all these above statements..
Coach AR schemes are for a Finesse Team not a Physical Team which I have been harping about for
3 years.. These “Finesse Schemes and Roster” do not win come playoff time and in bad weather…
Eagles have traditionally had one of the biggest O/Lines in the NFL and they ask these 320-330 lbs players to pass-protect 40-50 times a game and Rush it about 15-20 times a game.. Ridiculous…

January 25, 2011 9:54 am

paulman, exactly. When are you going to let your 300+ pound guys beat up on the other team. Instead they spend the whole game dropping back and getting smacked by bull rushers and blitzes. Currently, we do not have the toughness on either side of the ball to win a championship. Tired of the nice guys. I want some guys that don’t care about the opposition and is going to knock someone’s head off. That will get a roughing the passer penalty, hit other team’s players while the play is still going on even though they aren’t near the ball, come knock down a player from the other team that’s standing next to a pile, someone who’s willing to make the other team have to watch out for them.

GCobb, everybody who comes to your site are diehard Eagles fans, most times leaving their hearts here and expressing their pain with the way the Eagles are run, them never getting it done, myself included. Year after year we express the same cries about this and I bet nobody at the Eagles read or care about this. BUT, ALL of YOU guy’s in the media who get to get close to them at those press conferences and other events NEVER seam to hit AR and company with the tough talk we read here, and hear on the radio. WHY ARE ALL OF YOU SO SCARED OF AR. Why don’t we hear the tough talk at the press conference. Maybe if ONCE somebody had the b%&#s to hit him in the face right then, when he in front of you. Maybe, just maybe something will change. Same thing on the radio, from all the host, tough talk all day about them, but when he comes on, softball conversion. Why does he scare you guy’s so? It’s seems they could care less with what we have to say, if they even hear us. But they hear you guy’s, your the only way, somebody, one of you has to show a pair, come on man, somebody has to step up. Force these people to answer the tough questions, make a change. Who else can do it? if not you guy’s. It is time for change, but it seems our cries will not get it done, so who’s left to do it?

Reid doesn’t trust RB’s…… Who he thinks a 2-3 yard pass is like a run???? SMH……. He doesn’t trust offensive linemen…. His nack for not running the ball only has his men prepared to pass block all the time……… He doesn’t trust the Offensive coordinators……. Which that is his job to call the offense but Reid loves to interfere with the play calling by the offensive coordinator……… He doesn’t trust time management……. NEED I say more about his clock management????

Let alone he told a rookie Jorick Calvin to run around in the endzone to let the clock run out LOL!!!! SMH!!!!

You would think that 12 years of HC’ing you would atleast know some of this text book stuff…….. SO DO WE BLAME MCnabb for his NOT KNOWING of a Second Overtime??????? Just a question???

The only way that they will get rid of Reid is if people start boycotting the games like the phillies fans did back in the late 90’s. As long as Lurie and Banner are making money hand over fist from us fans drinking the Kool-Aid that this is going to be the year….this year is different …Reid has learned from the past.
THEY HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 10 YEARS NOW AND EACH YEAR IT IS THE SAME DOG AND PONY SHOW!!!!

Look at all the success all of the young coaches around the league have been having. We must not listen to this BS that “we should be lucky to have Reid as the coach”
I would rather have a few years of losing with a new, young coach ,then the same heartbreak year after year because this stubborn fool won’t run the ball or draft mammoth impact defensive players. These are only two of his long list of problems with this clown. He must go now!! Down with the Fat Man!!
Huhhmmmm time is yours…..

blue, I agree but the media kinda have to play nice at time so they can still keep their “good standing” with the team. There are some guys that will ask a good question but Reid just brushes them off. After that, I’m not sure what the media person is supposed to do. They can’t get mad at the person for now answering them and show that frustration. Then they’ll find themselves not being able to attend certain things. It’s unfortunate. Here’s the thing about the media, I just want them to report with an objective mind. Most of the reporting is either spewing FO koolaid or overly critical or discussing issues that has nothing to do with football. Just be balanced is all I ask for. But I agree with you, I do wish the media could/would present more tough questions. I remember either last year or the year before, Eskin had Andy on his show and he killed Andy. He drilled him with some questions and you could hear Andy getting upset. I did give Eskin credit for that. But since then, it’s all been softballs or Eskin might find himself not being able to host the coaches show or sideline reporting and standing right behind Andy. Who knows.

Coach AR is seen as too nice and no one wants to challenge or confront him and that includes the local media. This happens every day in our Society, which is part of the reasons it’s falling apart everywhere,,
People naturally don’t like to confront people and are afraid of the consequences if they do so..
It’s another pussyfication of these United States.. believe me, I am no Ed Rendell fan, but he was right, this Nation has become a “Land of the Wussies”…
On bluenote point (which is excellent by the way)

Reid cant even get a 1/2 yard to 1yrd run…… He rather pass the ball for a completion……. Reid is so noticeable on his play calling that even Keith Brooking was saying “We knew every play call out there”!…. But yet Reid does the same the next season as well………

I didnt take Sean Payton long to win a ring with the saints…… Which that was a shocker to everyone….. Sean Payton is a surgeon when it comes to putting the right person in the right position……. Like putting Colston in the slot…….. Why not mix things up ANDY…… Why the same old stuff over and over……..

All you cats talking about “its time for a change”….be very careful what you wish for! Andy may not have won a superbowl, but there is no dismissing he is a successful coach…The grass is not always greener on the other side! His consistency as a coach is valuable and it comforts the Eagles organization…fact is, people like to be comfortable, we like stability…Reid has provided this from day one and in my opinion he is still producing…Regardless if players we wanted were not picked, at the end of the day, it has worked out…

McNabb got boo’d in 1999 NFL draft, I wonder if the Eagles picked who you wanted (fans that boo’d), where would they be…Would the Eagles be more successful or less? I’m happy that some of you cats are not coaches, because if you had your way, the Eagles would have been in the cellar for the last decade! The Eagles have not always been built small and fast… A lot can be made about the size of the players, but lets not forget how young many of these players are, experience plays a role…

Many often point to the Ravens as an example of a team the “sold out” to win a championship….they went after players that would put them over the top at the risk of hamstringing them against the salary cap in the future…..well how did that work out? 1) The death of J.J. The best who’s ever did it!!!! A piece of the Eagles grittyness went along with him as well!!!!! Bailed AR out for many years….. ANd is the success to AR’s current tenure as HC…… I can argue that!!!!

2) Eagles signed a (spy) from the dallas cowboys Coach Carthon who had our team in Shambles!!!!

3) Not giving Brian Dawkins a 3 year deal…….. He would have helped in goal line situations and give this defense that fire……. Great motivational speaker…….. But we sign a bum named Quinton Demps to replace him and another bum named Sean Jones????

4) Saying Kevin Kolb was the starter and not letting him and Vick battle for the starting position…… A good battle can bring greatness to some players…….. It can make you better and motivate you to bing your A game every sunday!!!!

5) Mcdermott who studied under J.J. for many years and just went Lunching on what he was taught…… Just doesn’t make any since???? Thats like someone not listening to Dick Lebeu!!!! (Com on Man) Tom Jackson voice!!!!!!!

wuts good! I hear what you saying about Tomlin…The Steelers have been defensive juggernauts for a long time…but the frame work was layed, the seed was planted before Tomllin was ever thought about…The Steelers are defense first, their defense is the best part of their football team…there were days in Eagles history where our defense commanded respect every Sunday…If werent for Reid and his decision made week 3, I’d be right there with you guys! But honestly that decision in Week 3 was the biggest decision Reid made all season…We would not have contended for anything if that decision had not have been made…I’m not saying that Reid will win a superbowl, but as an Eagles fan I damn sure hope so…I’m not ready to give up on this man just yet….I think we’re just a few players or player progression away from where we all want to be!

He is a solid 10 to 11 win regular season coach….since going to the SB in ’04 we have been back to the NFC Championship (1) time…..we have exited in the 1st round the past (3) efforts……why would any logical person expect that with this track record we are headed for a SB chapionship?

LOL @ Green – when you put it that way, it makes me think of it in a new light lol….

@Scorp – you’re right 20 years coaching without a superbowl is a fail…but for Reid it will also be full of success…We have great football players, basketball players, that have never won a ring…Sometimes people only get close to the big one, the big one always escapes them…I’m not a fortune teller so I dont know what the future holds…this is why I’m reluctant to dismiss a coach that has been successful like AR…we could go from contenders to the cellar in a matter of one season…now if I knew who the other coach would be, my stance on this possibly would be different

@Real……. Yo bro I feel you……. I understand your view…….. But coaches life expectancy now in days are about 3-4 years now……… If you aren’t getting it done and you are not rebuilding……. Your in the junk yard ready for scrapping…….. Let alone this season was not a rebuilding but a reloading season just makes you wonder???? IDK if it was Reid’s decision to keep vick in because the week after Andy said that Kolb was still the man at Qb………

IDK if Roseman told Reid “Hey fatman….. Vick is the man at starter so stop your S&%$…..!”
The decision to start Vick over Kolb was great……. But we all know that Reid sticks to his guns often…… I just think they had a vote and made Vick the starter……. But I understand your point bro!!!

OK guys

so who would you select as the coach to replace Reid?

I’ve thought about this question and I’m finding pro’s and con’s to every possible candidate I can think of! and I’m not sure if their pro’s out weight the con’s

AR did say that Mcdermott will return next season!!!!!!! IDK if Reid’s word is solid anymore……..????? Mcdermott is here in Charlotte…….. Makes you wonder if Reid is a cardboard cut out of a man!!!!!

@REAL….don’t take my desire for this team to win it all as an overall indictment of Reid….the guy has done plenty of excellent things for this organization…but there comes a time when for the betterment of both parties they need to part ways. It was clear that we needed to move away from McNabb….overdue in some fans opinion….but it WAS TIME for a change.

Reid will likely be sucessful wherever he ends up, but based on his history here, there is no reason to belive he will win it all HERE. I would view him no differently then Vermiel….I really like the guy and appreciate what he did here…but in the end he didn’t get us the championship we wanted. Vermiel is a little more involved in the community here, so I might have a bit more affection for him…but as a coach, no difference in my opinion.

Time for a change….but I doubt it will happen….so maybe the pressure from the fans and the front office will be what it takes to get Andy over the hump and win a championship…..so he can look at all of us and say the he proved us wrong…wouldn’t that be great! I would be happy to tell everybody I was wrong about him….while I was at the parade on Broad Street.

@Real….. Gruden, Dungy, Cower, have all won superbowls…… Idk if the Eagles will go after an older coach……. Maybe someone young like a Rex ryan or Mike tomlin or a sean Payton type guy……. These guys coach with a I dont give a you know what attitude……..

Not really a Gruden fan…and think that if Dungy hires some coordinators with a real “fire” in them, he could be a good fit

Yea Jroc, I dont know…these guys have one a SB each…they got it done one season…who’s to say Reid won’t get it done “one” season…I could see if they were like the Phil Jackson of football, but they’re not!

Gruden won a superbowl back in 2002!
followed by two losing seaons in 2003 and 2004….and 11-5 season in 2005 and then followed up by a 4 -12 season and his last two season at TB 9 -7…I dont know guys, that is way to incosistent for me…

Tony Dungy, would probably be the guy I would pick if I had to choose…but it also took him 10 season to win his first SB…he also had the team in place to compete and arguably the best QB of all time…

@Real…… Dungy will be a great fit….. he’s vick’s mentor…….. And he trust his players….. And coaches……… to do there Job…. LOL…… He let Peyton do his thing on the field……..

Have we ever seen Mcnabb do a real audible while on the field?????? SERIOUS QUESTION?????? Everything is written in stone when Reid calls a play!!!! No freedom with AR and his decisions…….. I want some feed back on that question LOL!!! As long as I have been an Eagles fan….. I’ve never seen Mcnabb see something different and do his own thing??????

Bottom line,
Coach AR will be the HC for at least 2 more seasons thru the 2012 Season
(He is signed thru the 2013 Season) .. If the Eagles teams fail to make a Deep Run in the playoffs in the next 2 Seasons, then he is done,,, but not beforehand….

I see it as this…….. Brad Childress and AR are two of the same people………..

They demand things there way……… If it isn’t there way theres no way…….. It took a few years in Minnesota to realize that this isn’t the military….. And players started hating Brad Childress while he was coaching………

Reid is the same person but he’s more calm……. He wants things his way……. The same scheme that just doesn’t seem to work…….. The first game against the Redskins it was more a sigh of relief for Mcnabb….. He didnt have a great game but he beat his former team in there own stadium…… It takes time when players stop believing in the coaches style of coaching….. Look at Shanahan in denver who the players and the FO just lost faith in him for there organization……… Now i can see this happening to Andy Reid…….. His words are now written in pencil instead of a chisel or being branded like a cow in a pasture……… All this decision making while reid is on vacation makes you wonder?????

@Paulman….. For the past 2 years there hasn’t been a deep playoff run……. Its been where in and now where out……. We haven’t won a playoff game in 2 years now……… Let alone we had a 1st round bye right in front of our eye’s two seasons straight……… He cant even get pass the wildcard game……. The Eagles have always dominated when it came to making it into the playoffs……. Coaches have gotten smarter through the years and learn how to defeat reid…….

@jroc….agreed…..what is with all of the changes while on vaction? makes me think too.

I also agree that the league has caught up to alot of Reids coaching strategies…..JJ covered up for many of this teams defiencies over the years with a solid defense (except when they needed a stop in the Arizona game)

@greenfan….. I play madden on-line and I have guys who i play against and I know there strategy…….. I know what they like to run and i know how they play……… My thing is that J.J. prepared him self differently for each team week after week after week……… If we had the Patriots J.J. would run a scheme on how to defend Tom Brady…… If it was against Brett Favre J.J. would run plays to stop Brett Favre from being successful……

AR should prepare in this manner……. If you know a team is ranked 29th against the run and is #1 against the pass…….. Simple mathematics…. YOU RUN THE BALL!!!!!! They say men lie women lie numbers dont……. How much more of AR and his blindness can go much more longer…….. you have to prepare your self week by week not year by year with the same non-sense!!! LOL…… SMH….. PASS PASS PASS……..
