Report: Eagles Made An Offer To Randy Moss After His Retirement

According to a report from Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald the Eagles made an offer to former Pro Bowl wide receiver Randy Moss following his retirement. She tweeted:

“After Moss filed his retirement papers, I’m told the Eagles made an offer. So file that under bad timing.”

Even though Moss has yet to give the Eagles the answer they want, it’s not out of the question that he might change his mind. Although it’s been reported that Moss has filed his retirement papers, he can change his mind and send the league office a letter letting them know that he wants to play again and the retirement letter would be null and void.

This isn’t a surprise to me. I remember a number of years ago, when I learned that Andy Reid had spent more than an hour on the phone trying to get Moss to sign a contract with the Eagles before he resigned with the Patriots.

This shows you the seriousness of the Eagles about putting the talent on the field to win a Super Bowl title. The fact that they would make an offer to Moss tells us that they definitely “All In” as team President Joe Banner said.

According to Philly.com, an NFL source refutes the claim that the Eagles made a call to Moss’ agent.

Im not to hyped up on Moss right now, but if he comes outta retirement and takes some change to play, he may help us win a super bowl… Im sure he wants one as much as we do…

very interesting for our wide receiving corps, and it will reveal whats on randy moss’ mind
if he wanted a good qb and team, he has that chance, if he wants a ring and one more year of football checks, its right in front of him

I think having randy moss is a bigger deal than having nmandi asomugha. He can still put on the burners better than 80% of the WR in the league. Signing him would then officially make this the dream team.. Cant your just hear Merel Reese now!!! VICK TO MOSS HES AT THE 50 THE 40 THE 30 THE 20 THE 10 TOUCHDOWNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!

– I agree…

Eagles should take a look at Malcolm Floyd – SD (6 foot 5, another nice red zone target)
I thought about Braylon Edwards too, but been hearing a lot about his off the field pursuits, impacting on field, plus something about a suspension…

If we get Moss, I will control my expectations of him, until the the time is right, if ever

@Vricchin – What was the most problematic part of last season for the Eagles? The defense, no fan that watched the games in 2010 in their right mind would say an offensive acquisition is better than signing arguably the best CB in the game!

Yeah, vr- you’re CRAZY! How often due you hear the phrase “Wide Receivers win championships”? NEVER.How did the Eagles offense rank last year in respect to team history? BROKE RECORDS. Add Ronnie Brown, Doland Lee, and two promising additions on the line…. our offense is NOT a problem. Heck, we don’t even know how Riley Cooper developed.

If we get Moss, great. But Nnamdi is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY more important!

I’m trying to understand….what benefit does DJAX have by not reporting to training camp? Is he gaining any type of leverage by doing this? Is there any benefit? I know his wallet can be impacted, but besides that, does this give him any leverage in anyway? I’m not seeing it…are the Eagles fining him everyday?

Djax should fire Rosenhaus, he seriously is the absolute worst agent. I know all you deep throaters love him but he sucks and the eagles hate him. I don’t need sources to know that the eagles know this guy is a bonified moron.

The only benefit DJax gets is not having to be in camp. Otherwise, he’s gaining nothing. He’ll need to stay fresh because he will get injured at some point during the year when Andy sends him on an end around and a Dlineman falls on his legs.

As a cloe observor, I still stay the Chad Hall will be a very important part of this Eagle offense and will probably run the same plays/routes that D-Jax used to..

yeah Paulman ..your main source just called and said Chad Hall’s worth to the team can not be measured.
Chad is the in house toe nail clipper, Rick stressed the countless number of turf toe victims over the years and Chad Hall grabbed his goggles without even being asked took on this tedious long hours job. “TEAMWORK” at it’s finest.

Good one Songs
I hope Coach AR find another player for the 5th WR/Back Up Return man other than Chad Hall who is a nice story but does not belong on a 53 Man Active Roster in the NFL by any stretch… They made a mistake last year by letting Kelly Washington go…
