Forget Trade Rumors- JVR Out Indefinitely with Concussion

You can ignore trade rumors involving James van Riemsdyk for the time being- Paul Holmgren announced today that #21 will be out of the line-up indefinitely with a concussion.

Homer announced that JVR had been hit in the head in each of the last two games and wasn’t feeling well yesterday. Taking precautionary steps, JVR will sit out until any headaches subside.

Every concussion is different, so it’s difficult to say whether he’ll miss just a handful of games like Claude Giroux or the rest of the season like Chris Pronger. I suspect it’s the former, but only time will tell.

In the meantime, Zac Rinaldo will likely jump back onto the fourth line while Matt Read will shift to the third line with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.

The puck drops at Bridgestone Arena at 8:00 tonight against the Nashville Predators.
