If Eagles Let DeSean Jackson Go, What Wide Receivers Will Be Available

I don’t think the Eagles should worry about hanging onto diminutive and super talented wide receiver, DeSean Jackson.  He’s really a one-of-a kind type of player, but he can only be that if he’s playing with an attitude of “100% All-In” type of helter-skelter football with reckless abandon which he played with his first 2 seasons as he was making a name for himself.

Unfortunately since that collision with Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson and that pass by Kevin Kolb, which hung him out to dry, he has not been the same.   Then this season, with the lack of a new contract, he was hurt and disappointed.  became unfocused once the team and he started the Season slow.. I think in the best interests on D-JAx nad the Eagles, he needs to start afresh with another Team and the Eagles need some new blood in at WR….

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly going to use their “Franchise Tag” on wide reeeiver Dwayne Bowe as I indicated a couple weeks back.. Patriots reportedly are ready to use their “Franchise Tag” on Wes Welker as expected..

Wide Receivers who I believe will hit the open market will be the following:
Buffalo Bills – Steve Johnson
New Orleans Saints – Marques Colston & Richard Meachem
Dallas Cowboys – Laurent Robinson
St. Louis Rams – Brandon Lloyd
Philadelphia Eagles – DeSean Jackson

It’s 50/50 that the Steelers will franchise Mike Wallace and that the Chargers will franchise Vincent Jackson. Those teams would like to use the franchise tag on them but can’t afford at this present time.

Why is there a picture of Vincent Jackson in this article yet no mention of him? Vincent Jackson is the guy the Eagles should target if he’s available.

This happens quite a bit Birdo (at least in my case)
They may be short of a few new articles and needed some new threads…

Eagles should offer Mike Wallace a big money contract and trade away their 1st rd pick for him. He is the best Wr on the market this year. He is a resticted Free agent and Pittsburgh cannot afford him. The Eagles will be able to at least get a mid to late 2nd rd pick in return for Desean Jackson & a mid to late 3rd rd pick for Asante Samuel. Add that into the picks they already have and they would be able to work themselves back into the 1st rd if the player they want is still there.

That would be ridiculous to give a 1st for Wallace. The simple solution would be trade Jackson to the Chiefs for D. Bowe and thrrow in a mid round pick too. This would give them a big up grade at WR. And Bowe is worth 9 million a year.

keep DJax and sign Burris to replace him in the red zone —- Riley Cooper is not good enough to sit anyone to take advantage of his size — Jason Avant might have to be sacrificed to add all the money in DJax and Plex —

If this talk about the eagles moving up to get RG3 is a fact than my belief is that they are going to have to trade desean away to the rams and probably asante samuel as well along with the #15 pick…They will then sign Vincent Jackson and plax or Rmoss… This a possible scenario if they infact move up to get RG3.

Wallace is a much better fit in the Eagles offense than Dwayne Bowe. Wallace can do everything Desean does and then some. He is a more complete WR the Desean. I like D Bowe but he is more of a possession WR and if D Jax is not on the team this upcoming season than his production needs to be replaced. Wallace fits that mold. If there is anyone in the NFL that maybe faster than Desean it is Wallace. Giving a 1st rd pick isn’t really wouldn’t be too much with all the additional picks that they have and can also pick up with trading away Jackson and Samuel. Not saying this is gonna happen but it could definitely be an option to take. Rumor is the the Eagles are interested in Steven Tulloch ( ILB for the Lions ) and if he is signed than there won’t be a need for a player like Kuechly from B C in the 1st rd.
