NFL Week 5 Sunday Picks

New York Giants v Philadelphia EaglesMy Overall Record: 39-26

New Orleans @ Chicago

Chicago is a tough place to go on the road and win, but the New Orleans defense has been greatly improved under Rob Ryan, and should be able to create turnovers against Jay Cutler. New Orleans does enough to stay undefeated.

Pick: New Orleans 27, Chicago 23

New England @ Cincinnati

Was the win over Green Bay a fluke for the Bengals? I think Cincinnati bounces back and wins a tough game at home after suffering a letdown against the Browns a week ago.

Pick: Cincinnati 28, New England 27

Seattle @ Indianapolis

The Seattle defense continues to be the story of this team’s success, and it should help Pete Carroll pick up another road win.

Pick: Seattle 20, Indianapolis 17

Baltimore @ Miami

I can’t see the Ravens losing two straight. I think John Harbaugh gets some things straightened out this week, and Baltimore picks up a road win.

Pick: Baltimore 23, Miami 20

Jacksonville @ St. Louis

The Rams should be able to snap their three-game losing streak with the worst team in football coming across the country for a visit.

Pick: St. Louis 27, Jacksonville 7

Kansas City @ Tennessee

Bob Sutton’s defense has been the reason the Chiefs have won every game so far. Facing turnover-prone backup Ryan Fitzpatrick, I expect the Kansas City defense to be the difference once again and get the Chiefs to 5-0.

Philadelphia @ New York

Sooner or later, the Giants are going to wake up and play better than what they’ve been for the first four weeks of the season. But until Eli Manning and the offense stops turning the football over, I can’t pick them to win a game. I think the Eagles offense enjoys a bit of a resurgence against a defense that’s just as bad as the Redskins and Chargers.

Pick: Philadelphia 31, New York 27

Pick: Kansas City 24, Tennessee 13

Carolina @ Arizona

The Cardinals aren’t impressing anyone right now, struggling to score more than 20 points a game. Carolina is fresh off their bye week, and are feeling good about themselves after blowing out the Giants. They should be able to manage a road win this week.

Pick: Carolina 23, Arizona 16

Denver @ Dallas

Dallas becomes Peyton Manning’s latest victim.

Pick: Denver 45, Dallas 27

Houston @ San Francisco

Both teams come into this game trying to avoid falling to 2-3. The 49ers have had extra time to prepare and get the benefit of playing at home while the Texans come off of a frustrating home loss to the Seahawks in which Matt Schaub threw a pick-six that tied the game and sent things into overtime for the eventual Seattle victory. Schaub’s play has been so shaky as of late that I can’t count on him to go on the road and beat San Francisco.

Pick: San Francisco 27, Houston 23

San Diego @ Oakland

Mike McCoy has the Chargers playing well and moving in the right direction. If Terrelle Pryor plays, the Raiders could hang around, but San Diego is too well-coached to lose this game.

Pick: San Diego 31, Oakland 17

New York Jets @ Atlanta

Must-win situation for the Falcons. Falling to 1-4 would be absolutely unacceptable, and facing a struggling New York team at home could be just what they need to get back on track.

Pick: Atlanta 31, New York 20

Lots of good match-ups
I do see a couple of unbeaten Teams falling from
Ranks
I like the Bears over the Saints
I also like the Colts over the Seahawks who were very fortunate
To win at the Texans last week
Patriots & Chiefs win to stay unbeaten
As do the Broncos but Denver will struggle a bit
Versus the Cowboys..

Giants 35-Eagłes 31 in a barn burner, but Eli & Cruz,Nicks, & TE Meyers
Year up the Eagłes Defense to win at the end

More important than game-planning for the Giants game Sunday in a meaningless Game, I hope the Eagłes Brass is watching Loyisville’s QB Teddy Bridgewater just light up Temple Owls Defense as if they are a High School Team
For their Top Draft Pick in 2014..
The Eagłes need to throw the 2013 Season away,
and Trade Players like Vick, Celek, Herremans, Bryce Brown, Jason Avant, Trent Cole, DeMeco Ryans, Brandon Graham while they can get some Trade Value for them, and go ahead and play Foles and go 1-15 to get that 1st Pick and Select Bridgewater as their Furure QB so Happy Days can return to Philly again

Would it not be something to think about if you could get a 1st or 2nd Round Draft Pick for Vick from Tampa or the Vikings and then Trade Fokes for a 3rd Rounder to the Browns and stock up for next years Draft
Go ahead and play Barkley for rest of Season and trade the other Veterans who don’t fit and write off 2013 as the total rebuild that it should gave been
By the way Cliff, I saw your Stud DE Clowney do very little again tonight before he left game with Injured ribs versus that Power Offense of Kentucky . Clowney won’t last 2-3 Years in the NFL, he’s too brittle and has no heart and has been a huge disappointment thus Season..
His Draft Stock is falling too about his injuries and work ethics and Coachability issues

Agreed. Ive never seen a player fall from grace so quickly like Clowney has. He looks lost, soft, out of shape and unmotivated.I wouldn’t touch him in the first 2 rounds.

I have been all over Clowney all summer, who is nothing more than a
Prima- Donna.. GMCliff is a the best Talent Evaluator on GCobb,
But he and most others failed to measure this players heartf and self-drive.. He’s quit on his Team in South Caroliba as I stated he would in order to not get hurt, what a douche-bag he is and I don’t want him on my team and Lockeroom if I am a Head Coach

Thanks for the compliment Paul Brother, but I have no desire to have that distinction as the best. I’d rather share that with yourself ( I’m still your biggest fan), DCar, Daggolden, Greefan, Biglion, TsJohnson, Jon Hart, and OTHERS.

I only defend myself against buttholes the likes of E0S

Paul, I remember me saying I wanted to draft a player by the name of Vontaze Burfict, even if I could get him in the 6th-7th Round….He was all that you said he was,…. but he was a player….a player the Birds whiffed on.

I hope the flyers loose today so the coach will be gone…on the bright side, eagles win and they will be leading the division…yup 2-3 will be a division leader. What a division we got.

It will
Be another lo g winter with the “Flyboys” as I predicted
They have 1 good NHL Line and and then a collection of simply Average to Below Average Hockey Players and no real Defenseman who can transition the luck from Defense to Offense as the Game is Played today..
Too many muckers whose skills are simply not good enough to compete with the Top-Hal of NHL Teams.. It is what it is just like it is with the Eagłes & Phillies.. A bad time to be a Philly Sports Fan
