Eagles Trade Isaac Sopoaga To New England

isaacsoapThe brief and uneventful Philadelphia career of defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga has come to an end.

The Eagles made a deal with the New England Patriots, shipping the defensive tackle and a sixth-round pick to Boston in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Sopoaga had been all but completely invisible during eight games this season. He registered a grand total of 10 tackles and zero sacks.

Sopoaga was supposed to come in and fill the role of a starting nose tackle for a season, as well as provide veteran leadership and add some toughness to the defense after he came over from one of the better units in the league out in San Francisco. Sopoaga wasn’t getting the job on the field, but apparently the team also wasn’t satisfied with what he was able to bring to the locker room.

Sopoaga will be best remembered for his nonsensical quote upon signing with Philadelphia that the Eagles will “shock the world” in the 2013 season.

“We are here to hunt. We are here to win,” Sopoaga said at the time. “I believe and I promise that we’re going to shock the world.”

Empty words, Isaac, empty words.

Reports also suggest that the Eagles were trying to move defensive end Vinny Curry before today’s deadline. Because why would the team want to hang on to one of their only high draft picks from the last three years that looks like he can play?

Sure Howie, makes perfect sense.

Can anyone sense the 10 Game Home Loss Record coming to an End ..
They do get rid of Soapaga $3.75 Million Contract for the next Year and will only be out the $2.75 Million Bonus that they gave hime when he signed this Off-Season..
Now there will be more Snaps for DT Bennie Logan and Damion Square

Curry just does not have enough Tape of Live Action in the Regular Season to get much more than a 4th/5th Round Pick in Return, with the few Flashes he has shown when given the chance, why not just play him to see what you got, there must be something behind the scenes at NOvacare about Curry that we don’t know about for when he plays, he has produces, maybe he’s missed a bunch of meetings or doesn;’t practice hard or prepare well in the Film Sessions, but on the field, play the f’n man, he’ shows more energy and play making ability than either Trent Cole or Brandon Graham has ..

Lurie has to be thrilled that Howie spent $2.75 million dollars in essence to move up a handful of spots from the 6th round to 5th round.

That’s weak.

Lurie likes any time we do anything with his Boston team. It keeps him in the Boston Globe and he can point at it with his friends on Beacon Hill while sipping green tea….he is hap-hap-happy.

E-money – that’s funny the eagles are so bad and the patriots so good the trade might only be a couple draft spots

I figure the Patriots end up 12-4 and probably have the 26th Selection in Each Round.. Meanwhile the EAgles will finish 5-11 maybe 6-10 with about the 9th-13th Selection
So Eagles Trade NT Soapga and their 6th Round Pick (Approx 175th) and get the Patriots 5th Round Pick (approx 155th Pick)
Another Genius is that Roseman, He doesn’t even know how to make a Trade..

As much as I want Howie shitcanned…..at least he got something for essentially little/nothing. And put us in great position to contend in the all important “Salary Cap Bowl”. Please let this be his going away present to us all!

I’m really hoping Lurie takes off the blinders and gets rid of Roseman already, this trade proves the pickup was a disaster, to pay him over 3 million just to play running downs? Are u kidding me? James Casey, Conner Barwin, Patrick Chung, Kenny Phillips, its all Howie, you can’t blame Reid or Banner this time. Get rid of him and promote Tom Gamble!

Lurie put his business in Roseman’s hands. He’s a failure. A joke of a GM. Wake up Lurie!! Your credibility is now being questioned..

Who names their Hawaiian Son Issac to begin with, I knew there was something not quite right about that guy..
But on a serious note, I wish Big I well and now he plays for a good Team that will make the Playoffs that is desperate for DT/NT help and will probably go on to help the Patriots in their drive for a Super Bowl

WOW! $3.3M, for 8 games of invisibility! Good job Weaselman. How the 4 GM’s in this city have jobs, boggles my mind. I don’t know who is worse, Ruin 2morrow, Weaselman, Frankenhomer, Or the stat nerd?
