Notes From The Sixers’ 115-107 Win Over Milwaukee

haweshotThe Philadelphia 76ers snapped their four-game losing streak on Friday night, taking down the Milwaukee Bucks 115-107 in overtime. Their record improves to 6-8.

  • This game had an absolutely wild finish. The Sixers rallied from a 10[point deficit with under two minutes to go to force overtime. Spencer Hawes hit three three-pointers during that stretch, including an extremely difficult, contested shot to tie the game with 1.7 seconds remaining.
  • In overtime, Evan Turner took over the scoring duties, scoring eight of his 27 points to help the Sixers come away with a win.
  • Hawes finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
  • Daniel Orton got another start for Thaddeus Young, who remains away from the team with personal issues.
  • Michael Carter-Williams played a pretty efficient game, scoring 12 points on eight shots, handing out 11 assists, collecting five rebounds, and picking up five steals.
  • Hollis Thompson gave the team a spark off the bench, scoring 16 points to go with seven rebounds.

Final Thoughts

The Sixers managed to steal a game that they should have lost.

A loss to the 2-9 Bucks would have been huge. It would have drawn the lowly Bucks a game closer to the Sixers in the standings, and kept the Sixer win total down. Every loss is another victory for this team, and while its great to see the players fight hard and have success like this from time to time, they’re doing more harm than good.

I am totally against tanking a season. In todays society our young people do not know committment. Mr James had to try to rally around to others to win a championship. He did not do what MJ and Dr J stay with a team long enough to
make his team a champion. He conspired with others.

I disagree 100% Denny..
You play and compete to Win which is what Coach Briwn and Staff were hired to do.. Let’s worry about next years Draft and Off-Season
After the Season is over and enjoy and support this 2013-2014 76er Time and take some pride that our Team is competing and winning their share of Games..
Hanging the hopes of the Franchise in next years Draft on a potential 19 year old kid is foolish.. The rebuilding of the 76ers begins right now with the Team we have. So why not go ahead and support and cheer them on..

With each win, we come closer, & closer to losing our 1st rounder, & another 10-20 years of mediocrity, middling, & still being a non-factor! Don’t want to hear about the BS of competition, blah, blah blah! YOU CAN NOT WIN, anything of SIGNIFICANCE, without a Superstar, nor Star building block! Period!

Miami rested Wade thinking the Sixers were easy pickings and lost.
Houston rested Harden thinking the Sixers were easy pickings and lost.
That is 2 wins the Sixers shouldn’t have won. Their record is 6-8 change those 2 wins and they really should be 4-10. Bucks, Jazz, Celtics, and Suns also scrapped starters to lose in the off season. Suns and Sixers for some reason are winning despite the subtractions.

Finally someone with a brain! If the Sixers make the playoffs they lose their 1st rounder. If the pelicans get a top 5 pick, we lose their first rounder.

This team could have no draft picks for the once in a decade draft!!! Sixers need to trade Spencer Hawes NOW! If we don’t, you might as well move the Sixers out of Philly!

Spencer and MCW mouthed off to the ref in 2nd and the ref slapped them with a few charge turnovers allowing the Bucks to slow the game down erasing the Sixer double digit lead before the half —-
The conclusion was entertaining — MCW fouled out trying to put bucks on the foul line in the last minute. Evan had to play the point and it worked. Evan attacked the paint off of isolation and picks in OT.
Pacers tonight- back to reality.
