Eagles DeMarco Murray Takes #4 Spot In NFL’s Top 100

DeMarcoMurray15Every year the NFL Network lists The Top 100 Players in the NFL and they just finished up with the Top 10 players and Eagles running back DeMarco Murray was put in the Number Four spot.  That’s an amazing honor to be considered better than all but three players in the league.

Murray won that honor because of the amazing year he had in 2014.  The big physical back led the league in rushing by gaining 1845 yards on the ground in 392 carries with 13 touchdowns. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 115.3 yards per game.  In addition to that, he caught 57 passes for 416 yards.

It was an amazing performance.

Listed above Murray were J.J. Watt at the top position, Aaron Rodgers was number two and Tom Brady took the third position.  Not bad company for Murray.

I’ve been impressed with Murray’s leadership skills.  He’s very unselfish and driven, but he came in and immediately assumed a leadership position because of the calm and confident way he carries himself.   His resume speaks for itself, so he doesn’t need to make a lot of noise.

After each workout, Murray gets all the running backs together and they talk about what they did right and what they need to improve on.  In a lot of ways, you would think that he is the quarterback and Sam Bradford is the running back.
