The Philadelphia Phillies lost the finale of their series with the Athletics on Sunday afternoon 6-3. Their record drops to 58-91.

On The Mound

  • Henderson Alvarez made a spot start, and lasted five innings, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks.
  • Hoby Milner got the first out of the sixth, but Edubray Ramos checked in and gave up two runs over 1.2 innings of work.
  • Adam Morgan pitched a scoreless eighth.
  • Ricardo Pinto pitched a scoreless ninth.

  • The offense put up three runs on six hits.
  • Maikel Franco drove in two of the team’s three runs, going 3-4 with three singles.

Final Thoughts

Can the Phils avoid a 100 loss season?

They need to go 5-8 the rest of the way to avoid the shameful fate.
